Okuma Citrix
I have 12lb mono on my reel right now and I have used 40lb braid during the summer and it casts a mile with a 1/2 oz rattle trap or is good at throwing weightless worms, I actually like the dial on the outside as the Serrano is designed wierd as the sideplate comes off different than the rest and the brakes are on a dial, not sure why they didn't put it on the outside like the Citrix. I don't think we had any Citrix reels come back and while I worked at this shop we easily sold about a 100 reels, and for 6 months I never noticed any that were brought back and that is rare as almost all reels have a 2-3% rate of return.....I forget the drag power on the reel but I think it is pretty good, I have landed 15lb Red Fish on it with 12lb test so it has a smooth drag that will not stick like cheap reels will often do.

Lunker City Spanky
They are designed for wacky rigging specifically, and I grabbed a pack for 1.99 at a local flea market a year or so ago, and I was not a fan either, as they sag and the concept is similar to the old bass pro Knock out worms which I use to like since they had the heavyweight style that Berley makes and the same design with bulbous ends and if hooked at the egg sack, they bent perfectly even. I have a bunch of knock out worms stashed away as they are great for texas rigging and punching as they are super heavy... I would pass on the Spanky worm, although Lunker City has alot of good baits, the Slugg-o and the Salad Spoon are my favorites, and they make a creature that is crazy looking my friend had one day that looked like it would be great, although nothing was hitting that day. I do like the Lunker City Texposed hooks which I found on sale years ago and they are actually great or texposing baits and not snagging weeds.

First Swimjig What To Get?
I have been using 1/4 and 3/8 oz almost exclusively this year unless I want to get deeper into the weeds, or fishing deep water but I am usually in 2-10' of water, and I find 1/4-3/8 with a swimbait trailer or Grub depending on how fast I want it to fall. I also will use a Paddle tail worm as a trailer and trim it down to 4" as I like the flapping action. I usually order custom jigs so I can pick colors of skirt and head to match forrage and lately I have been doing well with shad patterns, specifically the Siebert Jigs that I finally purchased after hearing so many postive reviews.....They cost the same as any of the Strike King or Booyah which are all good jigs, but I like the options of picking wide gap, different skirt patterns, and the jigs are top quality and the sunfish and smoked shad are fantastic and I also throw alot of black and blue swim jigs for dirty water, and white or smoke shad patterns in clear water. I also believe the trailer is most important part of a swim jig, but if you check out Siebert, you have so many colors to choose from to match your most productive colors of soft plastics and you can have any modifications made to fit your preference which truly helps as fish see the same colors all the time... I know guys use heavier swim jigs although I have a hard time with heavy swim jigs in weeds, and I like to keep them higher in the water column, I will even go 1/8-3/16 at times and trim a skirt shorter and alot of times a trailer with less thump like a 4" curl tail grub is best especially in clear water and in the cold I like a trailer that does not have alot of action, and I also like a slow drop speed in the colder water, and my choice is usually the Yamamoto swimbait which is shaped similar to a sassy shad and super realistic and does not look odd with too much action when everything under water is sluggish right now, so I go with subtle thump and single tail grubs that are fat work really well like the Big Bite Fat grubs which give it lift and the tail does not over do it. I used to struggle alot with swim jigs and simply reeling them in a straight line with a steady retrieve usually only results in followers, I now use my reel to cause the jig to dip and shake with the rod to get followers to strike as they often folllow a swim jig and break off the chase when they see the boat, so vary the retrieve to what the fish want, and once you find the cadence which is usually slower this time of year, but not always, you will start catching them, and they work great when you kill em every 10-15' feet and alway's try to hit something with the jig. I don't like rattles, but if I want one, I add it on later to the trailer.

Football 101
I used to use the football jig alot when I lived in Ny but here in florida they are not the greatest for weeds, but they are good around rock and great in cold water with a craw as a trailer, I used to often fish winter with nothing but a tray of jigheads, twin tail grubs, craw worms, and different weights in the Rivers upstate that had all rock for bottom. We would fish rivers when lakes were iced over and often the retrieve was so sloooow that it almost seemed a waste of time, but every time you feel a hang up or get snagged, once you pop it free, 90% of strike would occur at that moment when cold...Or as soon as it hit bottom. The Stand up is one I never got into but imagine it would be a good option, so many jig heads out there to choose from, but I learned how to catch winter Bass on the football jig and a jig is only lure I am comfortable fishing in cold water even here in Florida which is not nearly the same, but fish still shut down.

Okuma Citrix
I own a citrix and several of my friends own them as well since I worked for a local wholesale fishing company for a bit and Okuma was our major line of reels and rods we sold and I can say with 100% confidence Okuma has Fantastic customer service and honors warranties. Between 3-4 of us we probably have half dozen citrix baitcasters as a pallet came in a year or so ago and with the rebate they ended up being roughly $50-$60, so we jumped all over that deal. I personally own 1 citrix, 2 serranos, 2 cedros round baitcasters and Okuma has replaced a spool assembly and side plate for a serrano for free(companies wanted $50 to repair), and replaced an Evx rod that broke in the back of a truck for $29.99 shipping and they sent a higher end model and I told them all damage was my fault. The Citrix has taken a beating as I use it alot and it has lost paint similar to what happens to a Quantum reel you palm and my other reels all seem to lose paint or get a new color after awhile but the reel is still working great. I am actually contemplating purchasing another Citrix as someone just broke into my car while fishing and stole my Pfueger President baitcaster and a Pinnacle reel that I also really liked, but for $60, I can't think of another reel better than the Citrix. The Citrix is a legit $100 reel that will hold up if you take care of it for sure, I take it saltwater fishing as well. The Helios is a fantastic reel and super light, They are extremely popular so the price never seems to go down, and I only buy things that are discounted or older models that are new and someone is looking to move. Okuma used to have a reputation or not holding up and poorly made up until 2010 I would guess, and that is when I purchased the Serrano since I liked the way it looked and it had saltwater resistance and good reviews, and I have been a fan on Okuma ever since. May people still used to tell me Okuma was junk but they changed their OEm and really improved quality several years ago so an Okuma reel is a good purchase, they don't hold their value like a Shimano or Daiwa however but that only matters if you plan on selling it after a year or two. Enjoy your new reel, and do not hesitate to call Okuma if you have any issues in the first year, they will help you out if it starts to make any noise etc. They are really trying to gain market share by being customer friendly.

Lure Specialization Vs Variety
learn to fish either a texas rig or jig/jighead and a plastic worm would be the way I go, a spinnerbait can get boring, plus it is not my first choice since fish on pressured lakes do not always want a spinnerbait after a cold front and way too many variables that I can't control. I can't fish a spinnerbait in heavy cover, in thick grass, and I am all about figuring out a pattern, finding fish that are feeding, and with spinnerbaits you will surely have days without getting a strike as they may not be where spinnerbaits are at their best, or just too flashy or providing too much thump based on what they are feeding on. if I know fish are feeding on crawfish why would I want to be chucking and spinnerbait and working when I can just too a jig and trailer and do much better. I am all about taking an entire day to fish nothing but a jig, or tube, etc...Because those baits will work anywhere you go, shallow, deep, weeds so thick you wonder if 80lb braid is heavy enough, so spinnerbaits are great (Used to be much better 10-20 years ago) bladed swim jigs work better now, fish get conditioned and I have been in many conversations with other anglers about the spinnerbait not being as effective as it was years ago, and honestly, a spinnerbait is one of the easiest lures to learn imo. Master the Jig, and you will catch bigger fish and all year anywhere, and it makes plastics and spinnerbaits easier to use since a Jig can be a spinnerbait, Not other way around.

What's The Smallest Jig You'll Bass Fish With?
The Term Match the Hatch which is the Golden Rule for Fly fisherman can be super effective for bass so I carry little grubs, leeches, craws, dragon fly imitations, small crappie sized minnow soft baits and bass assassin tiny shads, and a 3" hellgramite is a killer all year round. I have to weed through some dinks, but most importantly, getting strikes helps keep my head in the game on a cold December day as I hate getting my first strike 5 hours into the day only to miss the fish because I am daydreaming. I use jig head weight to determine fall rate and depth, or for when using the float and fly on Windy days when you need a finesse approach but just can't feel the strikes in December on a 4" worm. I am surprised more people do not use the float and fly for fishing over submerged grass with a slip float as you can use a bobber stop, cast it a mile and depending on type of float-Waggler-Bubble-Cigar style, you can control how fast the wind takes your bait, and you are showing fish that see flukes and swim jigs, traps and every other technique a new look that get's numbers and big fish..I still prefer the waggler since fish will not feel any resistance, but the bubble flips over on pressure so you know to set right away and avoid your soft bait going to deep in the throat. Plus, you can see and know where your bait is at all times with precision on the toughest of days, and often times the direction they pull the float and how fast will tell you that other fish are in the same area and you can start figuring out a pattern. Fishing a 4" trick worm is effective once you find fish that are active on a tough day, float and fly is almost like trolling to find em as you cover more water than any other technique with a bait that any fish will eat out of opportunity since it will eventually smack a fish in the nose. Or you can do what some saltwater guys do for finding Redfish on tough days, after you catch the first one, tag it with a baloon so you can see where it swims, as they always go back to the school and then you can pick them off. I have never witnessed first hand but have heard credible fisherman tell me how to do this and it just seems like cheating to me, but saltwater is a different ball game.

Flipping And Pitching Baits For Muddy Water
I know the bug is a great bait as are all larew baits, but I just can't use it because of how it looks....Do they make one big enough to fit a packing peanut or walleye slip float inside to make it float? I love the weight of it, but have not used them enough I guess, or only using one when my go to baits are not working. I hear to much talk of the biffle bug for it to just be another creature or gimmick because they are expensive, and once I start modifying they never hold up. Do you use mend it glue? I can't take the smell of soft bait glue buy I have only used bottles that were imported without a brand label on it yet. I get alot of returns with glue, crazy glue is better I guess? Any help would be appreciated, I am looking for new baits to pair with a few dozen types of swinging jig rigs I am working on for 2015. I hate Elaztech but it floats awesome, same with pvc but it is toxic and kills to many fish, at least the pvc in the expensive baits.

Can't Punch, What Should I Do Instead.
Yup, you can use the the Owner rig which I like, and I have been known to grab the wrong rod from time to time to toss a jig at a fish in a bush, only to realize that it was my 1/4 oz swim jig on 10lb test....Here is good news, you can still land a good fish since you usually will have a sun/shade line in fall where the bass sit in the sun in shallow muddy water so they are not always as deep, and if lucky, The wind will allow you to know which direction to steer her just make sure you have a very soft plastic bait and sharp hook. I flip Senkos since they never hang up and I use the Rodent as well because both work well over the grass also, I find that I can cast the Rodent a mile, and it has better action over a mat, Bass have not idea what they are blowing up on...If they miss, IKA time or jig and grub/chunk combo and when going direct with braid, I would use a Jig, instead of a Tungsten Sinker only because eventually My Silicone protection stystem for my line with tungsten eventually wears out and frays when pitching into sharp bushes, hitting logs etc...I would use some #20 Hybrid as a leader but that is just me, I like fluoro but it took me a long time to learn how to fish with it but it will get you more bites and I used to HATE fluoro, so glad I am not always a quitter when it comes to expensive products, I need to stop using You Tube to watch Fights and other videos since my computer knows I am a fishing addict and next thing I know I am writing down names of lures I have never heard of from Payo, Evergreen, and that is how I found my new greatest lure and I am in 304 months on the Ima skimmer now, actually going to auction of a lot of 30 walking baits soon. Samurai braid is great for flipping since its quiet and thin, and the SX fluoro is expensive but I could never use anything else....Good Job Tim Horton.....

Flipping And Pitching Baits For Muddy Water
We flipped all day yesterday in muddy water in a flooded forrest with maybe 4" visibility and the fish were positioned facing the wind for easy fry and just because that is how fish sit in the wind, and they were soaking up Sun right at the Shade/Sun line the Tall Trees were causing, so essentially it was flipping at night since it was muddy bottom, and lots of grass and bushes that were dry up until a few weeks ago... anyhow, didnt start doing well until noon and key was a 4" senko for me, and a 5" cut tail worm made by bass pro, 6" Magnum but they are thin but dense. We both used 3/8 oz, Red bead and modified the weight to have some silver and gold on the black for flash, and color was black blue later in the day, but black red was awesome in the afternoon. Green Pumpkin Red, and Gp Gold are always great as well, I will also go all black, and then get a color called Toho which is a black blue/green pumpkin black, heavy silver flake almost like a bright peanut butter and jelly I guess its called. Color was key yesterday, Junebug, Red shad, watermelons were not getting hit, and the siebert Brush jigs in slowest fall we could get with a 3.8" bps speed shad as a trailer (looks like keitech Swing) and green pumpkin Red and white ice were good and that is what has been working last few weeks and all our water is dirty lately, so sound helps and alot of guys are doing well using a power shot with a 2.5" Gulp Minnow or Die dapper but I don't have the patience, I like to be in and out quick to cast again... I would buy whatever you feel will work best and I like all Strike King baits and the bait you mentioned is nice and heavy and small, I think that is a good choice, bb cricket, Critter Craw, Ika, Damiki Craws and tubes are supposed to be amazing but I have not tried yet, so grab some for sure, I have been told and have seen proof of what they produce, and if it is 1/2 as good as a GYB Ika or Creature than it is good...Hope that helps, I think I am talking to my self....Buy some BPS brand baits, the river bug is thin & never sticks in the weeds on the drop- or it is called the split tail beaver I think now in 3.5" and 4.25 but I may be mixing up V&M or Assassin. BPS XPS Grubs are as good as the GYB grubs for use as a trailer imo, although I love GYB baits and the swim senko is another great bait to flip....Sorry for the Ramble, I have been flipping for last 2 weeks in shallow mud, and I spent all morning at my storage unit getting my fall box ready with all the soft baits i will need for myself and I was afraid I would run out of certain colors and sizes of baits and I alway's hoard too many baits for myself when I need to be selling them, but flipping is expensive these days. I love the Siebert Jigs more than the custom brush and arkie style jigs I have been ordering custom for years, and I lost about half my order in less than a month, and I have a feeling it was lost on the end of my friends rods since they end up in the upper lip solid more than any Jig I have used....So have fun, Fall is when you should Flip up a few Giants, I want a magazine cover Bass soon.

Would You Use These?
Can you make me some hooks in that color? Love Stealth

Homemade Mj Rig
just put a blade in front or on hook like an underspin, I actually do better that way and stick nail weights in the tail for more whipping action.

New Bladed Jig Color
I am still putting your jigs to work and man are they durable. I landed a 23lb snook on one and it still caught fish the rest of the day without having to be tuned much....The paint is getting beat up but that means a lure is good, never understood why people compain if a fish takes chips off, or you need to run them into tree stumps to maybe get a strike from the fish of the lifetime? I can't look at regular zman lures anymore they are toys, Those Hooks are sharp and colors are killer. My friends stopped using bladed jigs even though I keep telling them it takes a long time to learn and I am still a novice, just winding to the boat is not a good strategy all the time..... Hey can you make weedless 1/8-1/4 versions with a bullet style head, or ballhead? Looking for a spinning gear lure and love how the swinging bullet head jigs look like although I have not seen them on anything except in a pack by Freedom I think it was?

Anyone Make There Own Ikas?
Take a senko and get a razor blade and give the end a squid look, and buy the 7" so you can make 2

What Has Happens With Mepps Flying "c" ?
I just looked at a spinner again for first time with serious thoughts yesterday and all my spinners from 20 years ago look great. They look easy to make, and I know that I import and sell 10 spinners like a rooster tail for $5.00 so I am sure Mepps is paying pennies and I can't get over the price of the musky sizes which are not much larger and just have hair? House brands are usually good quality and from same Oem as probably Luhr Jensen and Blue fox who are under same umbrella with VMC. Heck, I can make a top quality $20 spinner for a buck or two......I need to get mepps to tell me what that buyant body that floats is made of on the inline I now love. I guess I should have been using these, I just filled out my box with beetle spins and road runners yesterday.

How Should I Start Making This Inline Spinner? I Need A Strong Ring To Hold 5/0 Hook-Check This Bad Boy Out!!!
How much w uld it cost you to make 25 of these? I don't want to buy more than I need or better quality since they offer 3000 blades.alone , I guess I can use extra brass bodies anyhow for rigs.....I may start making my own swim worm rigs as well, I have been paying $5 for my "Stupid Rigs" which I use with a 7" senko as a topwater and when it works it is the most exciting bone jarring strikes from huge fish, but I never use it around others who are not sure if I have any skill. It is not polite to start the morning with 2 ounces of meat splashing down into calm water to get the fish to investigate, and then start reeling a senko with flashy blades and clickers as fast as I can while walking the dog and the deadsticking, waiting and then skipping it a few times before fishing like a maniac again but I did not invent this technique. Roller Rig the guy called it I think, but he knew how to cut and bend the worm better than I do. It has to have a concave face, and I am not crazy, I am making a video this week for you tube to blow peoples minds.

How Should I Start Making This Inline Spinner? I Need A Strong Ring To Hold 5/0 Hook-Check This Bad Boy Out!!!
Thanks for replying, I forgot to add that the body had a bouyant silcone material that was buoyant which gave it a different action.I was thinking about just adding some silicone from a tube from Home Depot which comes out clear to the body instead, or slip a few floating gadgets on their...It had a odd swing to it, I still keep a good amount of quality Rooster Tails, Shysters, Panther Martins and Mepps with me but never use them and when I was compariing they would not balance right and it almost doules as a shaky rig/flutter spoon.... I watched a video today and my friend is going to help me with the charts and how and why certain bodies are different, and with painting as I am not good with that stuff. I may just trade my friend a lot of soft baits for one of his 3, instead of paying almost $20 with shippingas nobody sells them but Mepps. Good thing is I have a case of the soft bait skirts for swim senkos in white and a case in black, so I can dress up all my trailers to look nice. Last question, line twist was killing me while I was playing around with a box of cheap imported spinners I have and I was just adding hooks and soft baits, changing blades etc...But even a ball bearing swivel was not working.... I need that lure on a scale to replicate it, I have not like a new lure this much since the Chatterbait, although this phase may die if I don't slaughter them next time out..... Is it better to buy best quality components? also, is it hard to get the double blades to work as I just saw them for first time yesterday and want to try one wiith a 6" senko on the back for a big boy MJ rig. Thanks Much.....I will let you know what Mepps tells me about the material and components that make it unique. My buddy used that lure to beat some of the best guys around in a few tournaments this year from the backseat and I just figured the guys he was beating were not that good, but I don't follow names of angler's only Timmy Horton and Jimmy Houston because I like their Shows. How does someone pay $20 for an Inline Spinner from Bass Pro that is just squirel hair, and wire? I am going to order from Hagens since they sell Top Props in bulk as well as owner centering pins. I will send you some if they are good!!!

Is There Really A Need For All Those Soft Plastics?
I have 2 storage units full of soft baits in cases stacked to the ceiling and I love em all equally, not equally, but I still love them all...... I am working on only bringing one large tackle bag full of plastics with me however, and when I first get an order man do I start hoarding for myself....I have enough soft baits to last 10 lifetimes of fishing every day, and the sad part it I still want to order some new colors and baits every day...I just like buying fishing tackle, some days plasticts, some days custom stuff, some days I just like to stock up on Bomber Long A's and Red Fins and not sure why, I think I counted 23 in my box, and 50 plus not opened and I will never sell a bomber long a from the 80's cause they catch more fish than the new ones and I stock up since that sound will be gone one day.......Made in USA lures were better in some cases....Pick up an old Zara Spook by Ebsco in the 80's-90's, then shake a new one and it will freak you out as the new ones just sound like noise, not a subtle but Hi Pitched low knocking sound which works better and that is real talk...Plastics keep getting better and so do alot of lures as well, I like Japanese lures but hate using them.

How Should I Start Making This Inline Spinner? I Need A Strong Ring To Hold 5/0 Hook-Check This Bad Boy Out!!!
Called the Mepps Dorsal Fin and it can swim just great when grass is everywhere and is a swinging worm hook behind an inline 5/8 oz spinner with a skirt and a detailed and flashy body. I want to make them since $12 is steep, although my buddy has won several tournaments in the past year from the back seat and tells everyone he is using a Terminator inline Spinner since he had a good run at one point and the Snagless Sally and Inline spinners were being sold at a funny rate here in Tampa earlier this year. I feel bad giving away his secret lure but I want to make some of these. I know where to buy all the components and I will get some from Mepps direct, but should I start with a kit or by all stuff on my own? I want to experiment with a willow uv blade mepps uses as well, and this lure handles a 10" worm and runs true.... I feel bad telling everyone about this lure since he has been guarding his secret until this morning when I had the pleasure of having it hit me in the back and snag my shirt..The swinging hook and 6" grub with all that detail while I was already down 5-1 and trying to find a white with silver Inline spinner to pitch into grass since this thing actually can still spin after going through a mat and it is deadly using the same technique you would use if you had a beaver under a punch rig or flipped a jig under a dock....All other brands stick in the weeds, underspins were not working, I tried everything, but at $12 I can't afford a lure I will lose for sure quite often. I supply him with all his softbaits for free, and I want to start making inline spinners with modifications like UV blades, different styles etc. but does anyone like Hagen's or Barlows have bodies with this detail? I also think it is the sound and Mepps is awful selling wholesale even with a legit business. Any help making these for less than $12 a pop is much appreciated. Sorry for the Ramble but I have watched this guy win 3 tournaments this year in places where most guys only bring plastics, and he tells everyone it is a laser Eye Bass Pro spinner, but with a 6" grub it is over an ounce and is deadly for sure. Check this out and please let me know how to get started making bladed lures like spinners, buzzbaits, under spins etc....Thanks guys. Here is the lure I love today.

Anyone Else Fish Alligator Lake Safety Harbor Fl, Bellows Lake Watershed? Pinellas County?looking For Some More Angler's To Fish Our Endless Water.
I was curious if anyone fishes some of the lakes in Pinellas and Tampa areas of Florida besides just Lake Tarpon or Hillsbourough River if the Drive to Winterhaven or Orlando is too far? I have been putting my Kayak into lakes from Lakeland,Polk,Tampa,Pinellas, and the only lake I see boats is on Alligator Lake and most are Crappie Fisherman, or Saltwater Guys fishing the spillway. I rarely see anyone fishing any of the managed areas or Google public lakes which have decent access for a jon boat, kayak, just not from shore. Is that why info is unheard of? We all know every puddle has Bass in it, so if you have a computer and are friendly with local tackle shops you can find some real Gems, only just now did I realize the public places were holding legit Lunkers. Anyway, I just considered 1-4lb range at say Alligator Lake-Creek-watershed from my Kayak over the years to be about right, however I figured something was off that kept fish from growing over 5lbs. I had a morning last week of about 15 fish in 2 hours all in the 11-18" range and have been targeting large fish in the process. I fished that lake & 2 others of similar size a few miles away last night with a buddy and I watched a legit 8lb plus Bass landed around midnight on a chug bug, and after he let his fish go, I actually saved my rod from going overboard as a fish almost as large smashed my Gulp EEL on the bottom...Long story short, but I feel these lakes could hold True "Lifetime" Fish yet we all drive hours to work the same areas of endless grass only to get 5 good fish after a thousand casts since 3 tournaments are happening at the same time. Sorry for the ramble, just came home, could not find any info on Bass Reports in this area and I know plenty of people who fish Tarpon and Canal but have told me since I arrived from NY that Tarpon had the Biggest Fish. Maybe, but I like woking a pattern on a 100 acre or smaller lake and learning it and I can say that Alligator has taken us a good 2 years to understand, I guess Bigger Fish are rare & night is scary with that Huge Gator, but we heard big fish breaking that were not the norm, so any info would be appreciated. If anyone would like to hit a lake in the area send me a message and we can hit my favorite pond only if you agree to wear a blindfold and I am serious as I have nurtured some "wasted oversilted habitat" into Bass Fishing Festivus before taking a trip to some lakes that look fantastic and I have already scouted for solid forrage bases that I want to explore before the Winter and maybe someone knows this area like I do. I never trespass or fish on land that I do not have permission to fish, so I figure talking public water can't hurt since we have endless places. Before I go to sleep, I have struggled on Medard and tournaments are so so on that lake and I am most interested in Walsingham, Taylor, Bellows(if you fished it you know it as it has 6 names since you would have gone back. Anyone fish Keystone,Sunset, or any of the other lakes I will not mention near the saltwater lake by Thonassasa which I find to be awful. Keystone area has to be good, but has anyone ever spent time during a Spring or Fall to work just Race Trak Road? I could spend a summer on Ski Lake which is small and never get bored, and that is a waste with Google showing paridise that never gets hit, or at least hit in areas that would shred 20lb Cajun red line or a panfish jig.....Any info please contact me, I know alot of people in the area and just looking to explore with some new Angler's who enjoy new challenges and healthy competition as we like to bet lures etc...Leave expensive tackle at home or a 17 year old will flip anyone silly, actually 2 of them are that good, and want to hit some weekdays while I have time to do so while fishing is great...Good Night, I am not crazy just tired and may have poisened myself with bug spray as they were bad last night. I will trade spots if interested. Thanks

What To Use
I would chuck a bluegill colored rattle trap at various depths and speeds to eliminate water, and also use a dropshot or c-rig with a 7.5" ribbon tail or look for craws and if you have them, I would go with a jig near bottom bounced or slow rolled....Don't rule out topwater either, I fish a pond that is a 20' fish bowl and often a loud topwater is what they want.

First Baitcaster: Bps Pro Qualifier, Lews Speed Spool, H20 Mettle, Or Pflueger Summit
I have not heard anything bad about any reel, rod, or lure from Academy...Just look how willing people are to pay $12-$15 for a $4 house lure, since the internet never works or people just think Academy is a brand and not a store...They have new models which look like the new Sebile Action series lures and still all the lucky craft styles like pistol and slush daddy, and the new floater went RC stick/Megabass 110.... I have used that pistol and it may not have the paint durability of a Sammy, it walks and produces on par imo, and the square bills are every bit as good as any others I have used, Jerkbaits need some work. Great hooks at a great price, and their Frogs look like a $10 frog and hold up great. I want to try a Mettle and Ethos Rod as well.
-
What Lure In Your Op Is Most Effective In Weeded Areas?
call me crazy, but you can fish a rodent or beaver just like a frog and have more confidence if a Bass misses your bait on a blow up....Just let the Rodent sink to the bottom. I fish a senko 6-7" or swim senko most of the time for plastics when going horizontal, and if I want to get the bait a bit deeper, I may use some nail weights in a Caffeine shad fluke, or start chucking a 10-12" red shad curl tail worm, or black and blue.....I alway's have a smaller 4" worm ready to go after firing them up with larger baits which is what a huge senko walking over weeds will often do if a Monster does not swallow it.
