  1. My biggest was in the neighborhood of about 20-22'' and oh man did it put up a fight. If that's how a pickerel fights, I can only imagine battling a muskie.
  2. I had to deal with my first gut hooked fish this morning. I remembered seeing this a while ago and tried to do this method but unfortunately I couldn't get the hook out and the fish didn't make it. I guess practice makes perfect but its gonna suck for the fish I'm practicing on.
  3. I caught 2 bass on a GY senko without using an O-ring and without it being rendered unfishable. I was dumbfounded!
  4. This guy I work with fishes local tournaments. He's just got an old Jon boat with a small outboard/trolling motor and his livewell is an old igloo cooler with an aerator rigged up to it. Needless to say, the regulations for club tourneys (at least for this one) aren't as strict as the pro-level ones. I'd think that your best bet for tournaments would be to find a local bass fishing club in your area. You may even be able to join one as a non-boater and get to go out on someone else's boat. The only thing is that most tournaments are going to have a per-boat or per-person entry fee (that's where the prize money comes from) and as a non-boater, you'd still be expected to put up some money. Like half the boat entry fee and maybe even put up a couple bucks to help pay for gas. Just something to think about.
  5. This is really the only reason that I've considered setting up a FB account but I always seem to talk myself out of it.
  6. Beat me to it. X's 2 . I fish a lot of SK spinnerbaits but the $1 WalMart ones produce just as well for me.
  7. Congrats on the new PB...WTG!

  10. I never got into Facebook and all that. Just seems like it causes a lot of unnecessary drama. Or maybe I just don't have any friends. Either way, I'm not on it.
  11. Nice! I've been having a lot of success with the skitterwalk recently as well. Nothing anywhere near that big though.
  12. Also be ready to lose some baits. I think I lose more lipless cranks than any other type of lure. I guess its in the nature of the bait. Sinking treble hooked lure and all that. But they do catch some nice fish.
  13. Keep in mind that this is just from my limited experience but this is what I've done best on during the different seasons... Spring - Spinnerbaits Summer - Topwater early/late and soft plastics during the day Fall - Squarebills Winter - Got fed up with not being able to catch a winter bass so I decided I'd fish for trout instead
  14. Really cool to catch one on a lure you made yourself...WTG!.

  19. Fish Chris, those bass are ridiculous! It looks like the guy in the background of the 3rd pic agrees with me...
  20. That fish is beastly! I dunno if I could deal with being elbow to elbow with people though. I get irritated when I see someone else across the lake from me. I guess I've spoiled myself cuz I mainly fish from about 4:30 to 8:30 am and rarely see anyone on the lakes I frequent.
  21. Thanks for all the replies everyone. I've only had the combo a couple months so its fairly new but I suppose it could use a cleaning and a little oil and I know I still need a good deal of practice. The rod is medium power but I'm not sure of the action. It's not listed on the rod. It's just the generic BlackMax rod that comes with the reel. I do have a spinning rod as well though so if I keep having issues I'll just use that to throw the lighter stuff. Appreciate the offer man but were on opposite ends of the state. I'm in Caroline County...practically in Delaware.
