  1. If the water conditions are anything like last years tournament you won't be able to even see bed fish
  2. When did they start bedding, they won't bed in February that's forsure. Fish mcclure just like bass lake, millerton and pineflat. They are all similar to me
  3. Txt me I'll give u tips. You can throw almost anything there and catch fish.
  4. Try a dobyns 704cb or a megabass orochi xx jerkbait special. Both fantastic rods for jerkbaits. Both have a medium action and taper. I own both
  5. Go with a 765,735 or 766 from dobyns
  6. i went out today and threw a yo zuri pins minnow/lc pointer 65 and caught 3 up to 15", not too bad for never have jerkbaited for trout before. here's a pic of the first one of the day
  7. My friend has both a 6'9 and a 7'2 lights and I've used both. I prefer the 7'2 for dropshots all the way up to 3/8 oz, he also has a recon 2 medium and the action is too heavy for me.
  8. I paid $299, regular price. Definately never letting this reel go
  9. i prefer the river2sea bling spinnerbait in 1/2 oz. for colors i use abalone shad, lemonade twist,i know it or cold blooded in double willow or willow/colorado
  10. for a finesse texas rig i prefer the roboworm rebarb but on bigger rigs ill go with a gamakatsu ewg hook
  11. I found a brand new in box shimano chronarch 101 D7 at a boat shop about 2 hours from my house today and just had to have it. Pretty excited to have this reel. It will be a nice addition to my shimanos.Does anyone know how long they were made for?
  12. I never do anything to my ci4 and I've had it since it came out and I fish 2 times a week. Feels the same as out of the box for me
  13. I was told that the shad in the main pond come in from the river since the ponds are connected to it. I see shad all the time, mainly in the spring. My friend did catch a 5lber in one pond that's fishable a few weeks ago throwing a crank but that's all I've seen.
  14. It depends what youre willing to spend and your application. I own two cores and I like the 101 series for my jerkbaits/ finesse jigs(good allaround reel)and my 51 for flipping and pitching(great finesse reel also). My chronarch ci4 is the best all around reel but excels to me at cranking/spinnerbaits(pretty much everything though) because of x ship. Then i use my metanium xg(also a good all around reel) for deep football jigs on a dx 784. The met. casts really well. going to replace my jerkbait reel for a chronarch 101 D though. To me the chronarch ci4 is the most versatile reel imo.
  15. I have one and to me it feels like my metanium but doesn't cast as well but that's also a large price difference. Its a really well built reel and definately worth the price
  16. I heard from dfg that its not stocked with bass anymore, I know some small bluegill are in there and in the main pond that isn't fishable has shad in it and I've caught a 5lb bass in it as well
  17. The fish in this pond seem to like hitting spoons, rooster tails and small swimbaits so I figured a jerkbait might work.
  18. at this pond I pretty much don't bass fish. The only thing I ever see come out if it is the occasional catfish and bluegill. The ones next to it though I've caught bass but nothing of size at all.
  19. I'm probably going to go to woodward since I live near there and I saw a few 5's pulled out of those ponds
  20. the trout are planted weekly and pretty much fished out by the time the next plant comes, they plant the normal sized ones and they will throw trophy trout in there every so often. I've seen 17+ lb trout come out of their trophy trout program.
  21. really? ive never used mono before with jerkbaits. its worth a shot though. im wanting the jerkbait to suspend nose down, won't the mono affect that?
  22. its a heavily pressured small pond with pretty much no baitfish. pretty sad. anyways i was thinking i may be able to get away with a pointer 78 with 6 lb fluoro
  23. I'm wanting to start trying to trout fish with jerkbaits but I don't know what to really use. What are some good jerkbaits, colors and lb test line. I'm thinking about megabass x80 trick darters and luckycraft pointer 65s but I don't know what color to throw. I'll be fishing a relatively shallow pond that is about 6 feet deep with a 1-2 foot visability for rainbows that range from 1-5lbs that are stocked. Average size is around a pound though. Any tips will be very useful. Thanks
  24. I've got both rods and for your application I'd use the 784ml for deep water jigs. On hooksets you take up more line and the action is perfect for jigs.
