  1. Local company called proworms makes a bomb trailer. I also like gyb twin tails.

I use strictly TNT baits jigs. IMO these jigs are the best. All are hand tied with red thread, have an industructable paint job on the head, use living round rubber and use a 60 degree mustad ultra point hook with a straight line tie.At least give them a look at http://tntbaits.com. For trailers i use proworms trailers mainly. Video of paint durability - Tackletour review - http://www.tackletour.com/reviewtntwadda.html
  3. Thanks for the heads up though
  4. Yep I'm aware, I got it for fishing 12lb braid.
  5. I'm mainly a shimano fan also but decided to try a certate out. I don't think it will disappoint at that price.
  6. I just ordered a certate 2506. Can't wait to try it out!
  7. State- California Lake- california delta Time- 3:00 Weather- 90+ degrees, sunny as can be Depth 2-4 feet Cover- tules and hydrilla Bait- TNT baits wadda jig in brown with a plastic crawfish trailer Weight- 10lbs 11oz Caught an 8+lber that day as well on the same jig. I can't upload a pic since it's too big and I'm too lazy to format it but there's a pic of the two bass floating around here somewhere in the fishing reports section.
  8. Looking for a review on the new one, particularly the JDM one since tw is selling them cheap
  9. Any reviews on this reel? Tw is selling these things for pretty cheap and wanted to know how they perform compared to a stradic ci4+ and sustain.
  10. You're going to love that rod
  11. I went there and spend forever at the megabass booth lol. I did get a few lures and a rod though. You're right there were a lot of rats there. I would have liked to see black dog baits show up.
  12. How's the fishing at melones right now, I'm thinking on taking a trip up there soon. What has been working for catching them?
  13. Yeah that's what I figured lol. Oh well, looks like I'm buying two sticks instead of one
  14. Ok that's what I was thinking, how good of a jerkbait stick would this make?
  15. 3/16-5/8 possibly up to 3/4
  16. So what would be a good squarebill rod from dobyns for throwing anything from megabass knuckle 60's, speed traps, river2sea biggies and possibly a bit heavier squarebills. I'm going to be fishing lots of rock and trees but also a lot weeds on the delta. Looking at a graphite stick since I'm not a fan of glass.
  17. we have been asking how long you have had that rod up until now and you finally say you just recently got it and as stated above if one will break due to manufacturing defects it will likely be shortly after you buy it. So it makes sense now of why it probably broke. Also to add you don't have to ship a rod through fed ex, try usps they're probably more convenient and why are you buying a $200+ rod if you can't afford to spend gas money to get it replaced.
  18. Not trying to hijack the thread but does anyone know where I can get a dobyns rods sticker?
  19. She had the right idea with telling you to ship it in pieces. I've heard dobyns say that. You cut the rod up and put it into an envelope which is a lot cheaper than shipping a rod tube. Btw if you really want a rod tube, go to your local hardware store and buy a PVC pipe.
  20. When fishing deep the key is structure, even better is look for a spot on a spot, for example look for a rockpile on a point. If you're fishing deep and feel like your lure is coming back to you then you should try letting line out until you feel slack and know you're on bottom, also if you can't reach bottom then try a heavier weight. You can fish it many different ways. A few examples are some you stated like dropshot, shakey, carolina, and texas rigs. Other techniques you can try are spoons, jigs and I've even seen people drop weightless senkos down to 40+ feet (it just takes a while). Sorry if this is a bad response but this was what I could make sense of in the question Lol
  21. I believe both ramps are open. Ergh thinking about that kid with the 10.2lber caught in the last 20 minutes lol. I wouldve won but oh well, that's part of fishing.
  22. Agreed just keep it simple. I fish shad patterned with or without chartreuse swim jigs, at night or stained water I throw black and blue, for any situation with me trying to imitate crawfish I'll use a brown jig with an assortment of trailers and occasionally I'll use a bluegill patterned jig.
  23. I'm guessing with the lakes around here and being on shore, your lures encounter trees a lot? I haven't lost any megabass yet but then I'm always on a boat and have a lure retriever if I snag one.
  24. I think they're worth the money. I've caught fish on a megabass when a pointer or an ima flit won't get bit or any other jerkbait for that matter. The hooks are very nice as well and I've never had experience with bills on the bait breaking. Even my megabass knuckles and buzz baits seem to produce better than other baits at most times
