Ahh that smell.
I love the smell of powerbait, but not gulp. If they made powerbait flavored Doritos, I'd probably try them. 8-)

Reaction Innovations: The Flirt
Anyone tried these yet? I just loaded up on them at Gander Mountain, can't wait till the lakes around here thaw... The have a watermellon/gold sparkle that might just be the purtiest soft color I've ever seen. Dunno if they'll catch fish (well, I suspect they will...), but they caught me.

Help with a Rapala name
Thanks, but I just found it. It was Norman, not rapala, and called the front runner.

Help with a Rapala name
Rapala (I think) put out a gimmiky lure a few years back that was tied above your normal lure. It had a single treble hook with a tinsel skirt. It was supposed to look like a small shad fleeing your lure, I suppose. I am looking for some on Ebay, but do not know the name. HELP!

most producing bait
I have three favs that all produce more or less equally, I believe: Mepps Fury #4 Red/Black - From early spring to late fall this bait almost always produces, but line twist sucks. Bandit 100 and 200 - Chartruese White. I bought three of these at walmart for a buck each, and I'm down to my last one. Can't find anymore. I'm going swimming if I snag this one. Yellow/Black Fleck Trick Worm (not by zoom, but by Bass Assassin)weightless or sometimes florida rigged with very light weight. Caught my pb this summer with this worm, 8lbs, had to include it. my runners up after I started using them this year are: Pumpkinseed Senko whacky rigged caught me fish in the dog days of august when nothing else was working Seizmic Toad - pumpkin top, pearl belly, weightless and fish it subsurface with slow twitches, not buzzing it. Did not catch a single fish buzzing this toad.

The best lure
My favorite lure to catch on is the Bandit 100 Chart/White. But my favorite lure all around is the Megabass Type-X Frog, a beautiful looking lure, with very nice action. Only problem is I'm very reluctant to throw a $20-25 lure since I fish from the bank...

Gut hooking
Leave it in. A few months ago, I would have said something different. But three times now this summer, in the same pond i caught the same bass, with a segment of braid hanging out of its mouth, it looks like it has a gut hook. My buddy, the other day caught him, this time the braid is hanging out of his anus. The hook might be in his gut, but obviously it is not killing this fish, he's as fat as can be.

green stuff = no topwater?
Salad spoon or scum frog time. Even a weightless texas rigged worm will work dragging across the vegetation. I love fishing that crud.

Heaviest thing I ever caught...
...My own head. Was saltwater fishing this weekend with a snapper popper rig, misjudged the length of my rig, and caught myself. Tore open my scalp, straightened the hook, and bled for about a half hour. Luckily I had all sorts of salt water to wash it out with. Now I have a nice inch long tear in my head that breaks open every couple of hours and dribbles blood onto my collar. Dr. said no stitches needed though. *shrug* Good catch. Duh.

I you could ask Bill Dance 1 question....
I'd ask him for Hank Parker's number. j/k I'd ask him to go fishing of course.

Who's your favorite bass pro,old or young.
Hank Parker is my all time favorite. I used to like Orlando Wilson, but dunno what happened to him. Jimmy Houston is cool, I met him, and he was very nice. Kevan Vandam is way up there too.

If you could Bass fish anywhere in the world...
I would like to bass fish in the Grotto at the Playboy mansion. I know I wouldn't catch any bass, but you said anywhere in the world, and there's bound to be hotties lying around...

Inexpensive Polarized Sunglasses?
BPS has a Woo Davies series of polarized sunglasses that are superb. They come in several different styles, they look like regular cool sunglasses, and are inexpensive. They run from $15 to $25. Best polarized sunglasses I've ever had.

John Boat trolling motor.
I have a 9 foot plastic Pelican, and have the trolling motor on the front. It is hard as heck to steer and keep it where I want it. My buddy at work says I should have the motor on the back of the boat. Is he right?

Found in the strange place
I caught a catfish in a mud puddle that was left over from a swolen creek one spring as a kid. Caught him with my hands though, I wasn't fishing in a mud puddle.

Do Peacock bass chase off or supplant Largemouth?
I'm watching a fishing show right now, and they're catching Peacocks in what looks like should be Largemouth waters, using Largemouth lures. Have they chased off all the largemouth bass down there? Are they a problem?

Do Tiki Sticks work as well as a Senko?
I fish a private lake that the bass will only bite on white lures. The white tiki outfishes the white senko and the white kinami flash every time.

Any Kayak Fishermen out there
Yow! That sounds a little scary. We don't have any of those in northern VA, so have never had to deal with it. We do have water snakes and copperheads, but they always go the other way when they see me.

Any Kayak Fishermen out there
I have a kayak that I love to fish from, but like the fellow said a few posts ago, it takes some serious getting used to from a casting perspective. Most times, you can get farther up a creek in a kayak, and find a honey hole where other boaters can't reach.

Used Boat Advice
Thanks everyone. I have a boat dealership (triton) near me, and they agreed to give this thing the once over. If the fellow wants a sale, he'll agree to let them have the boat for the weekend....

Used Boat Advice
I found a used boat for sale, of course it lists that it is in good condition yada yada yada. 1994 Rick Clunn Nitro, 115 HP Merc, 36lb motor, etc... The fellow is emailing me pics tomorrow, and if I like what I see, I'm gonna go look at it. Problem is, I have no idea what problems I should be looking for. Obviously I would check for rust on the trailor. What should I look for on the hull and transom? Other than making sure the motor runs and does not billow a ton of smoke, what should I be concerned about there? What is a high amount of hours run? What other concerns should I address? I was going to buy a new boat, but figured my 'learner' boat should be used in case I screw it up real bad... Thanks in advance!

Fishin' "Jinx's"
My superstition is that I have to spit twice in the water after I catch a fish. I'm almost OCD about it. :-/

Trophy Smallmouth And Pike River Being Killed
This makes me mad, but what makes me madder, is the other folks that should be angry over it, are not. Silence, I bet, is all you'll hear from somebody like PETA.

Name your Favorite TV Fishing Personality

Can a battery be overcharged?
They're on a rack, just like everything else in the store... Either way, I've put mine on a wooden bench.
