Are Expensive Polarized Glasses Worth It?
I didnt read all the comments... Yes, good sunglasses in general are a great investment just on protecting your vision in the long term! I own Costas, are they worth the $1xx.xx, idk. But they do the job. Kinda set it and forget it approach for me. Buy a pair, they work, ok, move on. lol I will say if you get a pair strictly for fishing I prefer Amber or Copper lenses.

Citica 201G6
if you go and they have any lefties buy one I'll give you 64, the 20 to cover gas and shipping. I'm ticked I sold one of mine lol I bought the last 2 from my DSG earlier in the year. Gonna stop tomorrow to check out the crucials.

Citica 201G6
He'll yeah it's awesome! I strongly suggest calling shimano and have em send you a set of Chronarch knobs. Their beefier and more comfortable of a material than the ones in the citica. You could also grab a couple bearings too for them. Other than that congrats!

Shell Cracker
Ok so placed my order today, went with the bluegill pattern, not the ghost one. Also took another recommendation and got a whopper plopper in monkey color. Had a slammer in cart but with everything else I ordered I had to cut some costs. Next time but thanks again everyone for all the info! The G2 is on back order so won't have it for awhile but all is good. Looking forward to it.

Arbogast Buzz Plug
I've tried that thing many times over the years during the day, have yet to catch a fish on it. Went night fishing a few times and that thing slayed em!

Penn Battle Btl5000 Clicking Noise On Slow Retrieve?
via stripers online 'Good' companies plan for the next year, next decade, next generation. I'm beginning to wonder if the Fierce/Sargus/Battle line was the start by Pure Fishing Company (owner of Penn Reels) of a long term attempt to condition anglers to accept the idea of the disposable reel. Laugh all you want but Pure already has folks buying their reels by the millions despite the plain fact they don't last as long as similarly priced Shimanos, not even close. Now, there has always been junk on the reel market. What I'm talking about here is a long range marketing plan to change some of our most common perceptions of value when it comes to fishing reels. And Pure would only be mimicking many other marketing drives, notably cell phones, computers, audio/video equipment. Pure has already gained a strong foothold in the sub $110 price range and thus I have to conclude they've also well executed the first stage of a long range plan by convincing millions that their product offers good 'value.' Once conditioned to the idea a good value in a reel doesn't necessarily mean the reel will last all that long, the next step, and the killer stroke for max profit by Pure Fishing, is that we happily start buying the next generation of their product much sooner than we formerly would have to expected to. However, conditioned to accept a new definition of value, we don't protest but instead re-consume the same type of product that would have previously disappointed us.

Also forgot to mention the handle section is longer than other brands so it can tuck nicely to your elbow. This makes it more like a 7'3 rod in what your actually using up top. That's a HUGE plus in my book. Love the 13s but the short handle area ticks me off for some tasks.

I see I see. I own the Fred's magic stick. It's a frog rod but bought it for deep structure fishing with football head jigs. Over the past week used it for swim jigs, flipping brush hogs with oz and a half weights, pitching and jumbo spinner bait. It excelled at everything. It is no BS the most versatile rod I own and have ever used. I plan on buying a few more as dedicated flipping and pitching rods. Jigs and Texas rigs. On a side note 2 things I don't like about it. The trigger has a rough seam down the middle, I plan on sanding it down a little bit to smooth it out. Second is there is no butt cap what so ever, so extra caution is needed when resting it down. If they didn't take those 2 short cuts they could easily charge 250-300 for the rod and it would still be a good.

Why Isn't Quantum More Popular?
Own a few quantum products, no problems here. Although their cheaper stuff uses right handed contoured knobs on lefty reels where as Shimano does both left and right contoured. Daiwa lews are ambidextrous (flat or round). Okuma is guilty too.... About 7 guys in my club only use quantum, a few friends in other clubs as we'll. general consensus is their higher end stuff is awesome.

You own one but want opinions on the rod you own??? I'm lost. Genesis 2 rods are pretty awesome for the money

Penn Battle Btl5000 Clicking Noise On Slow Retrieve?
Ahh that makes sense with the price increments. My local shop who only sells Penn Shimano and VS, Has had just as many returns of the Spinfisher as the Battle. Many different issues. He said bad bearings, grinding, clicking, bad line rollers nicking line and the infamous bail closing. As far as the bail closing he said its all the models of Penns last few years.

Penn Battle Btl5000 Clicking Noise On Slow Retrieve?
Double Quote lol Didnt they replace the Spinfisher with the Conflict?? I may be wrong but if so, hows the Conflict? I dont know too much about that one and price isnt bad at all.

Penn Battle Btl5000 Clicking Noise On Slow Retrieve?
Or go balls to the wall and get a Van Staal? Thats prob the best option but very costly jump from a Battle. Ive been using a Sustain 6000, the 5000 comes with a kickstand which could help abuse on jetties. OP he made a good point on durability but at same time if you take care of your stuff it will last. Have numerous Shimano Baitrunners that have been dropped, submerged, banged against rocks, boat rash etc. Routine maitnence and they work like day 1. The new Thunnis is a BEAST as well. *edit also the bail closing early on casts, was a majority of the Battles. So even if he swapped out chances are he'll still have that issue. I lost some good lure because of it.... It's a reel that if it didnt have these problems would be a no brainer and I would own them again.

Right Handed, But Considering A Left Handed Baitcaster.....anyone Heard Of This?
I was just wondering if muscle memory is the comfort thing people including myself experienced. Many years holding the rod in the right hand and reeling left, then the jump to baitcasters later on,your body needs to readjust all over again... Its what works for me as I said before, using lefty reeels. But I'm sure given enough time anyone can do either combination and be efficient.

Penn Battle Btl5000 Clicking Noise On Slow Retrieve?
Had the reel, its junk, which is unfortunate because Ive had many Penn reels for salt. Mine did same exact thing as well as bail closing mid cast. Not to go brand specific but return it get a Stradic FJ. Easy to find one for a good deal on the web. You will not be disappointed. Quantum Smoke inshore, Cabo and Boca all seem to have a good track record from friends who have them as well.

Show off your Stuff
Like it alot, casts good and has alot of power. The 7 for example I use for Spinner/Chatter/Buzz baits. I could pull chatter baits through heavy heavy weeds no problem. Just keep cranking.
