  1. I originally picked up a *** 6'7 m/f for jerkbaits which I only really fish Pre spawn. Ended up giving it a go for flukes and is now 1 of my favorite rods hands down. Best $100 I ever spent on something fishing related. If someone came to me today and bought all my rods off me I'd seriously consider buying 10 of them to cover all techniques.
  2. Thanks for input. I'm 5'11 I can see how height can make a difference. I didn't think about a 50 size reel. That's something to consider picking up. I would also like to point out with the previous setup I had all brakes off and tension fairly loose. I wasn't getting birds nests but thumbing the spool I think was affecting my accuracy, definitely affected my confidence. That video I referenced he stated setting the reel as I would normally cast. So with this particular bait 1/4 oz jig and trailer I popped 4 tabs and tensioned for slow fall. Accuracy went way up and feel confident with each throw. I also am righty using left hand reels so I don't switch hands either. I also can't pendulum pitch yet, I have to grab the bait and kind of launch it from my hand. Do you feel a difference in pitching with fluoro compared to other lines? Any advantages? I personally don't like fishing with braid. But that's just me.
  3. If this is in the wrong forum I apologize!!! .... So this was my first year flipping and pitching with a bait caster. I've been using a 7'10 Heavy BPS Extreme 7.1 reel and I think its spooled with 35# braid. Anyhow I absolutely sucked at pitching. Flipping on the other hand I have it down pretty good. So came across a video from our very own glenn and he recommended a 7'6". Which got me thinking maybe my rod is just to cumbersome to start out. So I'm going through my rods and I have this Kistler jig rod I got a month or so ago used which is a 6'10 Heavy. So the other night a pop the Curado off the BPS and throw it on the Kistler. Hugeeeeee difference!! Shorter rod equals me not dippin the tip in the water and the lower weight allows me to flick my wrist much easier.. for all you guys that pitch and flip jigs do you typically use 2 rods? I also have a 7' mojo which I've been using for frogs I was thinking about trying that at some point but for now I'm practicing in my yard with the 6'10. I want to gain confidence in throwing jigs before I attempt to in a tournament setting. Do you guys have any advice on the rod situation? And I know, practice practice practice! Thanks all!
  4. After fishing so many different shimano reels over the years and getting the new Sustain with xship. And feeling the incredible smoothness. Words can't describe how excited I am for these reels. Plan on 2 of the Chronarchs and 1 Stradic come Christmas.
  5. I have no complaints with the bass pro extreme rod. 7'10" I think it was 69.99. Actually I was very impressed with the quality since I ordered it online and never actually saw it in person.
  6. Sold! Lol gonna order one in the next few weeks. Thanks for input guys
  7. Hey guys... umm in a few months there will be 4 Chronarchs, 2 Citicas and 1 Curado in the Flea Market. Just a FYI Anyone know of any companies that take pre orders?
  8. I had picked up the 6'6" M/F *** for jerkbaits, flukes etc. I love how its IMO perfectly balanced. I have been using a Mojo 7'0 H/F for Frogs and the thing is just ridiculously tip heavy. Was wondering if any of you have a *** H/F 7' and up. Is it well balanced like their lighter action rods? Thanks in advance for any feedback. I'm figuring grabbing one for the hell of it. But figured check with you guys first. Thanks again.
  9. Yea I'm excited. I honestly can't tell a difference between these and the Curado. Chronarch is on a entirely different level tho. Lol but yea grabbed Em due to the price. Otherwise I really didn't even need any more reels lol
  10. Got 2X 201g6 from dicks today for $138 including tax. Just grabbed them because of the price. They're 100 on sale plus extra 25% off. One of my two was a floor model.
  11. Any pics of chronarch Ci4 surface yet?
  12. All those who voted yay were dem
  13. Good info. Thanks. - without beating a dead horse now if both are being very unproductive and recommend moving and he doesn't agree what does one say. My whole thing too is I don't know everything and don't want to sound like I do and do not want to be perceived as a jerk. . None the less thanks for the feedback.
  14. I have a 7'10 H I picked up for flip/pitch. After using it I went back to 7 for pitching. The longer length works great for flipping. Just my experience as I just started flipping this year.
  15. Lol I plan on getting a boat next year. In process of buying a house now money too tight this year...... with Sundays performance if he was putting me on fish and I wasn't catching Em then it's my fault. I completely understand I'm at the mercy of the boater. My main question which I failed to state clearly, was/is what's the best way to persuade the boater to switch it up? Or am I just stuck at his mercy.
  16. I just posted last week talking smack about politicians. Just read in new bass mag they banned all lead fishing tackle to save a species that has seen a 11% growth in population. All the mother fun stats they showed themselves proved lead did not affect 'loons' reproduction (whatever a loon is???) yet the good old Democrats approved the law anyways. Did a quick search online and basicly throw a lead jig head and get caught and face a 3 year minimum prison sentence. ---- made in America stamping on commercial goods is being phased out by no one other than politicians.
  17. Advice! Stupid auto correct typo smh
  18. This is my first year doing tournaments and getting ticked off. Had a tournament Sunday and really wanted to hit to focus on spooks in the am and ledges in the PM. Instead due to me having no say of where the boat goes I got stuck fishing shallow cover and only got 2 11" for the day. This run was on a river and had to deal with low and incoming tide.. I can only fish what I'm confident in so I can't just copy what the boater is doing if he's having luck. He managed his 5 for the day with a 6 and change total lbs. Idk where I'm going with this just frustrated. One of my buddies who was a boater for this tourney bagged 15lbs doing exactly what I wanted to do and fish ledges.... is there a better way to get a boater to subdue to your agenda????
  19. True Story, casting under a bridge from a pier, I casted over the guard rail. I start reeling and hear vroom. Next thing you know I was spooled. And the line stopped my buddy walked around up on to the bridge and line was cut and wedged in a bolt on the guard rail. Lmao so yea caught a car on a saltwater plug.
  20. @baluga Van Staal is made in China as well.

Went to Hoffman yesterday asked them if they had them they said yes my heart started pumping!!! Then he comes back over and said 9 or 40 I said 45!!!! He said sorry at least 4 months if you pay for one in full now. I wanted to cry lol
  22. I pray I don't stir up a hornets nest with this but the only people we can blame for not having stuff made in America is ourselves for electing and re electing idiot politicians who bankrupt corporations with taxes and regulations. Detroit is a desolate wasteland, and all day long I see foreign cars on the road. I could go on further with examples but it just aggravates me. Just saw a post on Fox about how California is trying to restructure farm conditions for chickens. Which is going to put 1,000 of farmers out of business. So soon our eggs will be coming from China. The politicians will spend billions regulating every aspect of our lives instead of spending that money to create jobs thus losing Made In America. Here in CT we just lost just shy of a thousand jobs from gun parts manufacturers because of the draconian gun laws they passed. Guess what 3 companies out of business and 1 moving to North carolina, more jobs for China!
  23. Dammmmmmm!!!! Sorry bro! This is exactly why I own a few ugly sticks!!!
  24. Penn used to be a solid reel company now it's junk. Made in China. I also remember reading Ardent is Chinese parts manufactured in America. Idk how true that is don't quote me. Lol but yea with all the politics and regulation after regulation I highly doubt we'll see a reel manufacturer of quality in the America in our life times. ...M as for rods Crowder is made in Florida they make some great surf rods. Croix obviously. not really sure who else...
  25. Just a little update. I used this combo for a good portion of my tournament Sunday for flukes. It performed excellent. The more I fish with the 13 the more I admire it..... FYI combo is 6'6" M/F with Chronarch 201E6
