  1. wait there's no bearings in the knobs?? That's dam near standard nowadays lol. Any chance you could dm me the bearing sizes or part numbers and/or link. Would be much appreciated!. I'm gonna do it to mine. Prob skip on boca bearings for the spool at this time. Gonna try the bocas out in my citica/spinnerbait set up first to see if I can deal with the sound.
  2. Rippin-lips - Seen another video of a guy who replaced the plastic bushings on the level wind with bearings. Do you think that would actually make a difference.
  3. significantly different? It's the same blank, reel seat is virtually the same, only difference is the guides. So you obviously haven't fished the new Crucial and old Cumara side by side. Another person in this thread stated they're tip heavy. And by great rods I meant all of Shimanos rods in general. So we can just agree to disagree.
  4. I'm jealous! Congrats bro, give us a review after you fish them. Haven't seen any reviews with the two of those paired together.
  5. I said in my opinion. Regardless of components, to me the mh/f performed and felt identical on the NEW crucial and OLDER Cumara. And yes just about every shimano rod that has been on the market is tip heavy. My medium light Cumara drop shot rod is excessively tip heavy as we'll. It's something they are notorious for. As far as the new cumaras I have zero experience with them. Are they great rods, hell yeah! Just like everything in the world some things have flaws.
  6. Have some of the squarebills. Awesoms cranks! Wanna see after the season how well they hold up.
  7. Tatula isnt that bulky. Seems well constructed and should last. Just picked up 2 of em and havent fished them yet... On that note I am a Shimano guy Chronarch E and Curado G series are both solid reels.
  8. IMO the new crucials are last gen cumaras. Haven't tried the new cumaras but I bet like all shimanos they are probably tip heavy.
  9. Chronarch E series across the board In the $200 price range. Or curado G series once the stores start putting them on clearence
  10. Yeah tw is taking pre orders it looks like
  11. Spooks, slug gos, pencil poppers, rat l traps, big crank baits like bombers long A. 2-3oz all white buck tail jig with a white curly tail grub is like candy to them.
  12. I throw those with 1/2oz football heads on a 7' mh/f and flouro. I would think anything with solid backbone will be fine for them?..
  13. Awesome collection bro! - Mod we should make a show of your stuff thread for tackle, pinned like in the rods/reels section
  14. Go 15# flouro for what your doing.
  15. +1 ... Picked one up a month ago from Cabelas for $125
  16. I sorta concur with roadwarrior. Lets look at it like this, baits with treble hooks. For instance jerkbaits I prefer Medium Fast thus allowing me to use a rod with more back bone. My science is if I let the lure pause for a long time and say a bass grabs it but doesnt take off running. My next unknowingly move to snap the lure could be a hookset. So thats where the backbone comes into play. My 6'7" M/F also doubles as my dedicated fluke rod which obiviously is single hook and requires a stronger rod for a hookset. - Now off to moving baits I prefer a noodle. Lipless cranks, shallow divers, squarebills etc. I'm running a 6'8" Medium Moderate. The extra flex in the rod allows the fish to remain pinned on the treble hooks. It also gives a little extra giveto a lure thats bumping into cover reducing chances of getting snagged. *allows added deflection* Hope this information helps. By the way I didnt mention a brand and the post you quoted was pushing one.
  17. I use a 'snap' on shallow, squarebill, lipless cranks. Also on spinnerbaits depending on the brand Im throwing, Thats about it. Only time I use a swivels are barrel swivels on a tandem fluke set up.
  18. I almost went all Dobyns till I fished a 13 now I'm going all 13 minus my Dobyns I already own for shallow cranking.
  19. good to know. Never experienced that with any reel regardless of make or tension knob adjustment. Just plain weird. As I said I have yet to spool 'em. Prob won't be fishing for another 2 months at least.
  20. Dobyns 684cb has worked great for me.
