  1. A big bullfrog on a buzzbait .
  2. Slow down to fish more thoroughly and speed up to cover a more water . Works for me .
  3. I still use my old lures , never seen any reason to replace something that works .
  4. I can remember catching my first fish and where . It was a chute off the Mississippi river . I caught a sunfish with a bobber and worm . I remember how brightly colored it was and when Dad said it was a sunfish I actually thought it was from the sun . Its one of my earliest memories , maybe three or four years old . I was just at that spot a few minutes ago , looking things over .
  5. Watch for sales . Also post where you are from . I've given away lots of tackle . Just gave the cable guy two homemade buzzbaits yesterday .
  6. If it can be texas rigged it will catch a ton of bass .
  7. Summer and fall . Theres been times where a fish came on almost every cast for hours at a time .
  8. I have had several 100 fish days for largemouths and smallmouths . I have never caught a turtle on a lure but have caught several snapper with live bait .
  9. Say for instance you are getting hits on a noisy crankbait but not hooking up, a switch to a less aggressive crankbait like a Fat Rap might do the job . Or the fish are not hitting worms , cranks... but the fish do seem to be active . A switch to a surface disturbing buzzbait , something they dont get a good look at , may start catching them . These were two recent scenarios and bait switches that worked for me .
  10. Sometimes often sometimes not . When I do switch its its thought out . I dont change for the sake of changing . Same thing when it comes to changing locales .Try to make decisions based on intellect .
  11. I have used worms , lizards , grubs and like snake95 said craws work well .
  12. I picked Hakney .
  13. Texas rigged weightless Senko type worm , with a large heavy hook .
  14. All the bass in a local lake have the same lesion .
  15. Looks like a Strike King Spence Scout minus the skirt .
  16. Sounds like the Texas rig just isnt going to work at that location for you . Dont force it and use what works .
  17. I think I have the lowest percentage of hook-ups per hit ratio with a spook than any other lure . I havent used one for years because of it .
  18. A lot of pros have made a lot of money by specializing . Maybe finesse is your thing .
  19. I dont use expensive crankbaits but deep cranking is hit or miss for me .Last year was a great year with the 6xd and Rapala cra nkin rap CR14 on points . This year I had one good day in June and then the deep crank bite ended . Its funny how bass behavior has changed from last year to this year .
  20. If I got skunked for three months I'd quit fishing .
  21. The only thing you found that worked was worms . I've had plenty of bad days only to talk to someone else who had a good day . We can only try to figure things out . Sometimes we get it sometimes we dont . The only thing you found that worked was worms . I've had plenty of bad days only to talk to someone else who had a good day . We can only try to figure things out . Sometimes we get it sometimes we dont .
  22. Sounds like buzzbait heaven plus they are a blast to fish .
  23. If its a stump or something I usually cast to the shady side first . On a lake sometimes the sunny banks are easier to fish than the shady side . I experienced that two days ago . The bass were easier to pinpoint in the shade of overhanging trees ,laydowns and grass.
