  1. Ideally I will find long extended points and fish them with texas rigs and crankbaits .
  2. As long as I have some crankbaits , spinnerbaits , buzzbaits and worms I feel I can catch fish anywhere .
  3. Norman deep Little N is a good bait for ten foot . The Dredger 14.5 is good for 12 but it isnt very buoyant and might not be a good choice in snaggy areas . The dredger 10.5 strangely is buoyant .Strike King 6XD works well to about seventeen foot . These depths are reached using 12 lb Big Game .Shad colors are always a good choice .
  4. Oh my mistake . Howdeep do you want the lures to go then ?
  5. Are you keeping tension on the line ?
  6. You're filling a spinning reel with a revolving spool ?
  7. I would think that a barbless hook would work well until the bass jumps . Correct me if I'm wrong .
  8. WRB already explained the trouble with fishing deep divers from bank . You would want a lure that dives fast . A Berkely Dredger 10.5 will get down to 8 foot relatively fast .
  9. Spinning reels and spincasting reels both give me a difficult time spooling them without line twist . I have the line coming off the spools correctly but it still happens . What I do is after it is spooled I walk the entire spool off in the grass in a straight line then reel it in . Winding through the grass removes all the twist .
  10. The drop in temps might turn them on . Me . I dont go finesse because of a cold front , I will try what has been working and adapt from there . Deep fish might be unaffected , shallow fish might be tighter to cover . Theres a cold spell going on here too and I expect the bite to pick up .
  11. First , do you have the equipment to handle large baits ?
  12. Like WRB said .Something that sinks will be able to fish from deep to shallow and follow 100 per cent of the contour .
  13. You need to to do what most are not willing to do . Fish the heaviest vegetation there is . I would bury the hook in the Senko Texas style not wacky rig it . You still might not catch anything . Heavy fishing pressure sucks .
  14. Whenever I get skunked I feel better knowing that somewhere out there somebody is getting skunked fishing for sunfish .
  15. Here , I was thinking Table Rock was to hot for me .
  16. Rollincoal420 You are surrounded by lakes . You need a boat , it doesnt have to be fancy . Most of my fishing is done out of a 14 foot jon boat powered by an elec motor only .
  17. Table Rock.
  18. I love buzzbaits . Have worn a bunch of them out over the decades . Black , white ,chartreuse ,yellow they all work .Make sure they squeal by crimping the rivet in place . Hold them out the window on the way to the lake . I think a buzzbait is a buzzbait and some of my best ones have been generic . The three I have in my box right now are Lunker Lure , Cavitron and homemade ones .I've been using the homemade ones the most . Ahhhh 6 year old post .
  19. No doubt there are springs in the local lakes but they would be small . I dont think they would be detectable by sonar , fog , ripples , or surface temps .
  20. This sunday or monday night I'm planning a night fishing trip.I will give white buzzbaits a try . Monday is full moon , Sunday 99 percent illumination but the moon is already high when dark hits .
  21. Theres been article after article telling how good these places are and I have never found one . Just wondering how rare they really are ?
  22. You cant force the bass to hit a certain bait . I stick to whats working .
  23. If your fishing lakes with rip rap banks , those are usually accessible and rip rap is good cover .I lose more lures in rip rap than anything so I go cheap . Those prerigged soft swimbaits like the Storm and Berkely work well . I like to cast to different depths let them sink to the bottom then follow the contour back with different retrieves . Buzzbaits paralleled along the banks work well late or on grey days .
  24. They work well at night and they have that rattle .
  25. I use black but dont know if its best or not .I use it because I have always heard black is good . I also read to try white on a full moon . Thats when I fish so I might try it the next full moon .
