I'm not good at pulling jigs through "heavy" woody cover . I much prefer to bury a hook in plastic .

But , how do you know it didnt effect the catch rate ?

Curl tail down helps . I have been Texas rigging for decades and still fight line twist . A kinked worm is often the culprit . Take your time with rigging them . Hold the hook up in front of the straight worm and examine it closely. This is how it should be rigged .

Personally I like the top one better . I never had success with the white and red top water baits .

The lake I've been fishing has a thermocline fluctuating between 10 and 15 foot . Reccently most of the fish have been showing on the sonar 8 to 10 foot . I'm not going to pretend to know why . My best guess is that is where the most O2 is at . In early June I was catching a lot of post spawn fish down to 15 foot . They have moved shallower with warmer water temps .

I've been having problems for a week or so . I just thought it was my computer acting up .

I never had a lot of luck with spoons except for heavy jigging spoons .

The question is not " does sonar spook fish" its " can sonar spook fish " . Theres a huge difference between the two .. I never turn mine off , its to big a fishing tool to turn off .

Who hasnt caught bass under the boat with sonar on . .Again I'm not implying that sonar spooks bass but stating it doesnt is stating something you dont know .

Heres another debatable question . Can trolling motor noise spook pressured bass?

Bullheads are going to swallow it no matter what . Barbless is the way to go .

I'm not implying that sonar does effect bass behavior but it is plausible . There are those who say no way , no how . What about shadows . Most anglers go out of their way to keep their shadows off the fish because they believe it spooks them . I know i catch more fish when I'm stealthy than when I am screwing up .

I've had unpressured bass swim between my legs . Pressured bass act a lot different than unmolested bass . When Casey Ashley won the Classic he "stated" that it was difficult keeping on the bass because they were spooked by his sonar .

I think they are too big , others may not . The lighter wire hooks will go through the worm and bassees mouth easier .You can easily turn a six inch worm into a four or five inch worm , I bite them off shorter all the time . Theres a lot of videos on this forum and a section for finesse fishing , you ought to check them out . They are real informative .

I have used them weightless as top waters , on jig heads at mid depth and bouncing on the bottom . I have Carolina and Texas rigged them . I have some real cool colors from Riverside lures that I pulled out of discount bins .They all catch fish .

Use lures and line within the ratings of your rod . You can still use almost any type of lure . They will catch bass .
