  1. Its pretty much the same color as some of the bluegill cranks I have .
  2. I would call that Bluegill color. Bluegill colors work real well in the green algae stained waters I fish .
  3. Heres me on a night fishing trip around 1978 . I would be about nineteen years old in my new Skeeter 15 foot tri hull SS1 Fisherman . I fished whenever I could. The lure here is probably a black grape jelly worm. the reel is an Abu 4600c. The rod could be a fiberglass Lews speed stick . Good memories.
  4. I like the teeth marks .
  5. I only have one rogue and i think thats the color . Edited. No my mistake. mine is gold foil .
  6. There are so many to choose from, I cant keep up with all the new lures. The Bomber Flat A Is a real good bait for current and open water. The Rick Clunn Luck E Strike lures from Wal Mart are not bad for a silent lure .
  7. Sometimes those tags are worth money. Ive turned in close to one hundred dollars worth .
  8. Sometimes it works. A rooster Tail would be a good one to try if you can keep it from breaking the surface . Might have to weight it a little .
  9. Did you try burning a lure as fast as you could ?
  10. Im canoeing and fishing a smallmouth river below a flood control dam. They open the gates .It appears the fishing is over as the water is rolling. Im gliding past this big eddy and notice some baitfish scattering. I pull in and step out on a downed tree .For the next thirty minutes to hour I catch a bass on every cast. I dont even remember the lure I threw.
  11. I caught bass on Rainbow trout pattern and there is not a trout within a hundred miles .
  12. This thread proves one thing. You dont have to own a an expensive bass boat to enjoy good bass fishing .
  13. Do you clip the weed guard off the silver Minnow ?
  14. ^^^ yeah , something like that .
  15. When your whitewater guide says over and over to secure your life jacket as tight as possible , then you better pay attention. My guide , son and I had to rescue a man out of the worst part of the river, he was drowning and his life jacket had slipped up over his head. We dragged him in the raft and he laid in the bottom puking . PS I'll never go white water rafting again.
  16. Thats interesting. Did you say on another post to use a Johnson Silver minnow on the middle one ? Is that what you catch them on ?
  17. I just discovered this thread. What a bunch of pigs. I love it. Caught this one in July of last year on one of those Storm Spin Shads , this fish destroyed it. This was my second biggest of the day , but the fattest. This was the big one of the day.
  18. I would love to fish 100 plus days a year , I just cant justify it to my family. So I get out about once every two weeks in good weather but when I do go its usually dusk to dawn .
  19. I think they all cut your finger just as deeply. LOL
  20. I have limited time to fish. I cant be out there everyday. I cant be out there once a week. But there is not a technique I cant quickly learn. I just dont have time to do them all. Most new techniques I come up with while on the water. My terminal tackle box gets a lot of use .
  21. Me too. When I was young I liked 100 degree weather . Would fish all day in it. Now I have to avoid it.
  22. I like the way it is too. Trolling would cause a lot of problems in bass tourneys . I also like to troll and have learned a lot from it. I have learned what active schools of white bass look like on a depth finder and I have learned what schools of big channel cats look like too. Theres not much funner fishing than trolling a noisy crankbait through a bunch of channel cats. You will usually hook up with one.
  23. Ive been fishing for decades also. I am often late to the party with new techniques .I have still not fished a dropshot. On the other hand , Im often ahead of the pack. Theres been several times where Ive had a good thing going then a year or several years later everyone is doing it .
  24. scaleface replied to sprint61's topic in Fishing Tackle
If possible , I prefer to cast from a distance and Ill often work the Texas rig or jig all the way back to the boat .
  25. They dry out all right. Ive had to cut them off. Id leave them hanging over the boat in the water and forget about them. Then they would snag on something .
