Go Shad Rap Go!
Shad Raps are great. I would fish them a lot more often if they were not so difficult to cast.

How Do You Put A Soft Plastic On A Jighead Neat And Straight?
Bass fishermen have a lot of tricks up their sleeves. I thought someone may have come up with a clever technique other than thread it on the best you can. LOL. Sassy Shads are the hardest. Often times I have to throw the things away because I tear them up trying to get them straight. They do not work near as well coming in crooked.

Silent Red Eye Shad
I still have some old Pico Perches and Bayou Boogies without rattles.

Went To Fishing At A Neighborhood Pond But Have A Question?
If they are busting shad they should bite. Just keep throwing at them. Try half of a Senko, Wave Tiki or other stick worm on a light jig head or even a Roadrunner head. That should get you bit.

How Do You Put A Soft Plastic On A Jighead Neat And Straight?
I have never figured this out. A Sassy Shad will almost always come out with a kink and the hook off to the side. Twister tails ,grubs, half a plastic worm... Is there a trick to rigging them nice and straight?

What Is Your Oldest Lure?
I have lots of old lures. Dont know how old they are. A Spalding spinner with a baseball on the blade is pretty cool. I still have a lot of lures from the 70s that i still use. I have that Shakespeare mouse and box that is pictured above.

Catching (Snagging) Free Tackle
I was fishing jigging spoons on the end of a boat ramp one day. I snagged a spinning rod and reel combo, a dip net and two wrist watches. I guess people lose stuff there and it slowly makes it way down to the end.

Dagum Wind #$%
I fished a small stream from bank yesterday. Caught about a dozen tiny smallmouths. The wind was brutal.

Silent Red Eye Shad
I didnt know there was a Silent Red Eyed Shad. I want some. My last fishing trip, I was throwing a shallow diving Bandit with rattles and wasnt having much luck. I switched to an old Rogers Big Jim with no rattles and the fish jumped all over it. It made a huge difference.

Dagum Wind #$%
Well, my BassBaby would get swamped. My canoe would sail. The 14 foot flat bottoms that the conservation dept supplies at a local lake do not handle well. Boat positioning is a struggle. I have a stern mount trolling motor reversed .I attach it too the gunwale ahead of the front seat on the jon boat. That way I can stand and fish and have more control than a stern mount. Still its a pain to use with any wind over 10 mph.

Dagum Wind #$%
I use to love fishing windy days, when I had a bass boat and big trolling motor. I had to get rid of it because I couldnt afford to go fishing anymore. Between it and my truck , gasoline alone cost 70 to 100 dollars per trip. I dont have that kind of disposable income. Now I fish from small crafts and have to pick days with little wind. The bass are really biting but for the past two weeks its been too windy to venture out . Was hoping to go tomorrow or Friday , nope 15 to 20 mph winds both days. Its killing me. Ill have to do some bank fishing , maybe catch a carp.%&%$

When Do Bass Hang At Edge Of Flats/points And When On Them?
The bass I was referring to that are hard for me to catch, hard but not impossible, were the fish you can see on a depth finder , suspended near the point but not on it. A month ago I caught a bunch of these fish by working a Rattle Trap through them . I found them again my last trip but only caught one. Of course they are not always bass but i think these fish were. Im thinking one of those weird Alabama rig things might work.

Multitool Recommendations
Im going to reopen this old thread. I searched for a long time before I come up with my choice. A fishing multitool should take place of all the tools I carry. I settled on a Leatherman Charge but a Wave has the same tools. Along with the pliers and knife blades it has a thin diamond file that is a excellent hook sharpener. It even works real good at sharpening trebles,A must have for a fishing tool. It also has a tiny eyeglass screwdriver. I sharpened one end of it and now have a jig head paint remover. To sharpen trebbles , lightly do two sides at once. A thin diamond file is ideal. The Charge/Wave have everything a freshwater fishing tool needs.

Strike King Rocket Shads
They are not designed to be used like regular spinnerbaits. This is probably my most successful lure downstream of dams. When the current is really moving, this lure shines. For schooling fish and deep water they work great. Just working down the bank and casting at shallow targets their are better choices.

Strike King Rocket Shads
I just went through my box of Rocket Shads to repair the battle worn ones, paint head, add skirt... and found four without hooks.Thats four fish that I lost due to a malfunction I wrapped pieces of wire around the shanks of the rest. Also split rings work when added to the shaft but they have to be small , the wire was easier. Added treble hooks to the hookless ones. These baits get bit but they should have used a traditional hook.

How To Fish Lipless Cranks

How To Fish Lipless Cranks
When I first started Bass fishing they were my favorite lure. I need to start using them again. Twitch it just like you say.

Bitsy Jigs= Big Bass
I think Bitsy Bugs are fantastic and have had great days with them. They catch numbers and size.I usually pair them with half a stick worm like a Tiki Stick or a crayfish like a Baby Guido Bug . I love them in streams. This smallie has a bitsy Bug in its jaw.

How To Fish Lipless Cranks
Thin Fins are light floaters , nothing like a lipless crankbait. I dont have one anymore because they are difficult to cast on baitcasting equipment.

When Do Bass Hang At Edge Of Flats/points And When On Them?
The question about points that baffles me is how to catch bass on the steep side . A lot of points have a channel running along one side and the other side a more gentle slope. If on the shallow they are easy to catch, just like if they are on top. If they are hanging on the steep side they are more difficult.
