  1. The Spitz as in Mark Spitz.
  2. I have a serious arm injury. Tuesday is surgery. I may have to switch arms.
  3. Oh Ok, Duh on me. I dont think I have ever used a jig without a keeper. They would work well with pork baits or a plastic rigged like a pork bait.
  4. I dont understand the question.
  5. I guess my favorite would be a green Wave Tiki Stick.
  6. Have any of you ever had to relearn how to cast with the opposite arm? If yes , how easy was it and how long did it take you to become proficient ?
  7. If I know a poor knot is tied , I will retie it 1oo % of the time. Knots fail. Sometimes thinner string is stronger than thicker strings because there is less stress on the extreme bends of the knot. 15 pound test tied to a small hook may very well fail faster than 12 lb test tied to the same hook. I have been using 12 lb Suffix Elite a lot the past two seasons and have yet to have a knot slip or break . It will happen , some day, I know .
  8. Muskrat fun for everyone. Sorry about your boat. Is it insured? edited: sorry, your last sentence said it was insured.
  9. Way to go. A lot of bass fisherman are not anglers.
  10. Agreed. Ive done some snorkeling in clear creeks. Those bass stayed near the cover, they did not necessarily hug tight to it . They were active , moving quite a bit. If I tapped on my watch or tapped two rocks together , they would often come and investigate. One more thing. Every single log or cover that looked like it would hold bass did 100 percent of the time. This was a creek , not a reservoir but I found that interesting.
  11. Im an old school plastic worm fisherman. Ill pitch to the target ,slowly work it through and keep hopping all the way back to the boat.
  12. Thats how feel.' I have a lunker smallmouth'
  13. I buy a few new lures every year but mostly rely on old lures. Hooks are a lot better now and they have to be changed but the lures themselves kick bass.
  14. For me fall is big bass time.I usually find them shallow.Less than five foot. My last trip the seagulls told me where they were. They were saying , translated of course"Over here over here." half way up the creeks on shallow flats.
  15. If jigs are your strengths , then deep water fishing should come rather easily. My weakness is fishing in a crowd. I have never been able to beat the competition doing the same thing as them.
  16. What I like most about senkos is their weight. They are easy to cast. I often cut them or similar baits in half and fish them on a jighead or texas rigged .I have had several 100 smallmouth days on half a senko. I save the used up ones and will put one inch segments on crappie jigs. I also run spinnerbait material through them like crawdad tentacles. Bass love it that way but so do the panfish.Heres an example. I quit using the red strands because the bluegills wont leave them alone.
  17. I fish some Mississippi backwater that has bass in it. A levee keeps the area like a lake with no current. Its largely silted in and incredibly tough too fish. A person can fish for hours and not get a strike because the bass are not there. I finally found one area, an irrigation ditch that has a good population of fish. These fish are big and easy to catch.
  18. The example I gave where eyes did make a difference was in cold , heavily fished water with a grub and jig head. The lures were slowly worked on the bottom and the fish had plenty of time to study the offering. Thats why Im experimenting with eyes on bullet weights. I will not get to fish anymore this year due to an injury. Ive been putting three eyes on each unpainted weight , that way one is always visible. It may be a waste of time but it appears like Im going to have plenty of time to waste.
  19. I wonder what they expected would happen?
  20. Man,what fun!
  21. Please tell me where you plan to sink them.
  22. I always have by default. A lot of times its just half a Wave TikiStick.
  23. I bought some small Terminators two years ago and they were the worse spinnerbaits I ever had. They would not run upright. They would actually spin around. The blades were to heavy for the head.Other Terminators I use work perfectly. I robbed them of their components and threw the bodies away.
  24. Sure looks cold. Brrr... your dressed for duck hunting.
  25. Tnriverlover. I have a Bass Baby like yours. Love it. I can load and unload it by myself. Have to watch the wind though.
