  1. I didnt read it all. I was showing my biggest[best].
  2. man, I need to fish Lake Erie.
  3. The fish in my avatar was caught on half a wave tiki stick texas rigged.
  4. Another variation I use a lot is to simply texas rig it.And dont wait until the bite is tough. If a lure works well when the fishing is slow ,just think how well it will work when the bite is hot.
  5. Im going to call it the Primus rig.
  6. bloody bill anderson lived about 25 miles away from my town.
  7. I have caught lots of winter smallmouths. Rocket shads, half a senko , grubs especially the powerbait ones, and any soft plastic that resembles a crawdad.
  8. I googled it. Its half a Senko on a jig head. I invented that.LOL . Have been doing it for years.
  9. never heard of it.
  10. I wish I could get out and try it. It has to work. Pause it in the standing timber on my favorite lake and it will look like a dying shad.. I have a rattling Thin Fin that may be easier to weight.
  11. I cant fish for awhile , so I will be spending a lot of time thinking about fishing. Im sitting here pondering about the shad die off that I am missing and how I would be catching lunkers RIGHT NOW. I dont think they make a suspending ThinFin but wouldnt that about perfectly imitate a dying shad? Ill have to wait til next year and add some suspenddots. Have any of you ever done this with a ThinFin?
  12. I have not used any of the new hollow swimbaits, but have used SassyShads for years. The head should be moving, like you stated,.With the SassyShad a short shank jighook is the best. I have never found a good jig head for it.Ive been forced to use crappie jigs with thin wire hooks, that I bend to make the gap wider and the shank shorter.Mister Twister should make a jighead specifically for this lure. When rigged perfectly ,the whole body moves and the bass inhale it. I use the three inch ones and 1/8th jighead. I have caught bass up to 6 lbs on the little bait, but have had lots of bass come unhooked because of the poor hooks used. Im still searching for a good jighead.
  13. I use to make spinnerbaits. I have a mold. It was fun for one winter. What I dont like about the kit is you cant adjust the arm length, from the head to the hook tie.
  14. Do you mean the the gap/hook opened a little or closed a little?
  15. I like the Paul Elias reference in the original post.Hes the one pro I would love to fish with. He doesn't do what every body else is doing , hes always doing his own thing. I could learn a lot from him. Guido would be my second choice. I caught a couple of large bass and missed several large explosions at night on a buzzbait, on this one particular flat this year. I may have to bring the big Jelly worms out of retirement and probe deep on that flat next summer.
  16. I always considered a texas rig just a different kind of jig. Im changing mine to a T-rig, Jig, texas jig...
  17. Wow, fishing a 1/8 ounce jig head in 90 foot of water is pretty extreme. Thats twice as deep as my deepest caught fish. Report back, I want to hear more. Good luck in the tour.
  18. I dont think Ive ever seen a jig with the hook pointing down.
  19. I use the C-rig and a 3/4 ounce weight to cover deep water quickly.
  20. This is one of my best. one of my favorite pics anyhow.
  21. I had an Abu Pro Max 1600 that would not cast. I sent it in twice and they could not fix it. It was something to do with the "Race plate" whatever that is. I bet you got a dud.
  22. I have a Curado on a 6.5ft med light action Shimano Compre. . It will cast1/8 ounce lures with 10 lb test. I quit using it because big bass kept getting off.I just could not get a good hookset with it.
  23. Soft plastics.
  24. Ive been using a silent Square bill crank from the 70s , yellow , orange and green , I guess its bluegill color. The bass hit it aggressively. A few times the bass come charging from a distance. Its been by far , my most productive crankbait the past two years. Its so old its new. I picked up these lures from an antique store for .50 each. Its the second from the bottom
