  1. So where's the GPS coordinates?? Ha.
  2. Why do people ask questions on here, but then refuse to consider other's advise by telling everyone that responds that they're wrong.
  3. The Mistress or Ms. Dress (to make it an actual name)
  4. I'm not sure what the issue is here. Sounds like new batteries and you should be good to go. They probably only depleted a little bit over the winter and their abilitiy to go back to full charge is probably not affected. Again, not sure why you're stressin so much.
  5. Forgot to add that it's a tournament if that wasn't implied. Ha
  6. Would you be interested in fishing with me Saturday on the Potomac?
  7. Once again, I need a tournament partner for this saturday. Let me know if you're looking to fish. Leesylvania state park.
  8. Anyone want to fish a tournament this Saturday out of Leesylvania state park?
  9. No it's in Woodbridge. Blue bug is too blue for what I'm going for. I'm looking for the black blue flake since it's a little darker. Both work great though. It just plays mind tricks on me if I don't have what I'm confident in.
  10. You might want to start working out before you go throw one of these around for a full day. Ha. These things definitely take some effort to sling around on the water all day. But x2 on the right setup. I personnaly only used 30# braid, but always better to play it safe as bassman said.
  11. Do they have more selection for jigs in the store than what's online? I don't see the jigs that I'm looking for. They should definitely have the trailers I'm looking for. Just worried about the jigs.
  12. Great idea. Although this may be an hour away with our traffic, especially going south on 95. Ha. But I think I may do this. I hope they have what I need!! You're the man.
  13. Ok, so I have a tournament tomorrow, but during my practice day yesterday I lost a few jigs and I need some Rage trailers. I went to Dick's but their selection wasn't the greatest. Who doesn't have the most popular color (black n blue) on the racks? I'm trying to figure out where I can go to find Rage Craws other than BPS and Dicks. I live in Woodbridge VA and I assume Walmart doesn't have these. I live about an hour away from BPS and I don't think I have enough time to run down there tonight.
  14. I have one of the many tournaments on the Potomac this weekend. Good luck man.
  15. Great info. Just try to get the angle right. Or lay on your side and look at it. Ha. But you can also tell if another pair of sunglasses are polarized or not by wearing your polarized glasses and holding the other pair in front of you rightside up. They will be black. Turn them 90 degrees and you'll be able to see them. Just some useless information. Ha.
  16. If you want to do it, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You might learn something for that $100 and you can always go back and fish those spots after the pros are gone and apply some of the techniques they were using. You'll get to see what they're fishing and how they're fishing it which could be a great dollar spent. You will also get a feel for how the tournaments work. Have fun man.
  17. I believe the grease just expanded and went out the seals but they resealed themselves. There hasn't been any grease coming out since the trip and there was no water in the grease. It's strange that trailstar would recommend flushing the hubs.
  18. Ok so on my way back from Guntersville I ran through some of that salt spray ( not cinders) on the road through southern Virginia from the recent snow storm we got this week. It's now coating my trailer, boat, and a little of my motor. It's my boy's birthday today so I didn't want to be spending anymore time on the boat by washing it off. I plan to do it first thing in the morning. I have an aluminum boat (doesn't rust), but I have a painted trailer with a fresh coat of wax. I was wondering if any of you guys know how long I have until this does some serious damage. I already know that I should get this off as soon as possible, but I'm just hoping it doesn't do anything bad overnight.
  19. Well after the wife got too cold on the boat I dropped her off at the hotel and debated on whether to go back out or just pack up and take her out to eat. I decided to go back out for 15 more minutes without her knowing. She wasn't too happy, but it was worth the gripe. Hooked up with an 8.5# on the A-rig. The number of fish with size in this lake is unreal.
  20. Day 2 I had limited fishing time but I was able to catch a few in about 2 hours before I went to the wedding back in Brown's creek and found some really nice areas. Day 3 I had planned to go back in Browns creek again this morning but the main lake was way too rough for me to get back there. However, I did catch my personal best of 6.75 pounds back in Spring creek. She looked full of eggs. See picture. This one warmed me up a good bit but it's still mighty cold. The wind chill was about 30 this morning. I had to come in for an hour to warm up a bit. I'm heading back out for a bit, but I really hope the wind dies down tomorrow. It looks like we came down about a week too early since it's going to hit the 70's next week. It's still been a blast. My wife would be more willing to go out with me though if she could lounge and read her book.
  21. Yeah I'm going to try Brown's creek tomorrow morning I think. Brown's creek looks like it has a lot of little coves that I usually fish on the Potomac, so I'm hoping they're in there. As long as it's not lightning, I think I can tough out the rain. I read some guide's report online and he said the fishing was awesome today, but everyone that I talked to said they only caught a couple. I guess that's why they get paid to show where the fish are. I did see some guy from the highway with a nice one. It's going to be mighty windy tomorrow evening with 20-30 mph winds and 20 mph winds on Monday. It's probably good that the wedding is tomorrow evening.
  22. Well on Day 1 it was a rough start. I was rained out until about 8-9 am. Started fishing around 10. I guess with it being Guntersville, I expected to leave with 20 bites... not so much. Ha. It was pretty crowded today but there was always room to fish a nice spot. It was in the 50's today with a calm wind in the morning but the wind really picked up in the afternoon before the storm came through and the chop was getting worse. I had to leave around 3ish due to a big front coming through on the radar and I'm glad I left when I did. In the first hour I hooked up the biggest shad I've ever caught. I was very disappointed though since I'm here for the bass. Caught this on the riprap on one of the causeways. I fished here for a while then went to my A-game.... docks. Fished/Pitched these for a while and finally hooked up with my first Bama bass on a worm. I didn't measure since it was nothing to brag about but I'm guessing around 12 inches (Bad angle in the picture). I was surprised (or maybe not) how healthy it looked for this time of year. I guess that shows how good this fishery is. Nothing on the A-rig. I guess I didn't fish it enough but I feel funny fishing something that looks like some type of UFO. I'll have to give it more time I guess. Tomorrow there is rain in the forecast in the morning and a wedding around 3pm. So I may not be able to fish much tomorrow, but there's wind in the forecast on Monday and high's in the 40's on Tuesday. <sigh> Let's get 'm.
  23. I'm sure the Juniata is just as bad then. I haven't seen it in a long time. I'm hoping both rivers make a come back in the coming years. Any word on the weird fungus that's going around in the rivers? I just heard it was really bad last year. Better luck next time man.
  24. I did tow down 81. It was a great drive. Horrible mpg's going through the mountains down to Tennessee, but it was a great drive. I'm glad I went that way. There were no issues with my vehicle at all. Everything worked out pretty well. I did change my transmission fluid because I was at the 50K mark and I think this helped because it seemed like my transmission was running cooler than before.
