  1. Il second that I love my mojo bass and I use a 6'8 mh fast LTB for all normal Texas rig and jig fishing. You will also find at that length you can skip a jig surprisingly well with a baitcaster it just takes a little practice lol Tight lines Andrew
  2. I have a mojo bass cranking stick in 7'8 mh m and really like it I've never had a real problem losing fish on it Tight lines Andrew
  3. I have a revo sx that is down right amazing and can actually handle fluorocarbon I have shimano and Lew's before they're spinning reel overhaul and have been happy with them their drag is decent. In my situation it goes revo sx shimano then Lew's at a 100 dollars you really can't go wrong with any reel as for rod look at the avid that everyone is suggesting but look around and you might be able to find a LTB in that action for less than 200 then throw a shimano Sahara on it and have a rocking set up for 250 but like I said you really can't go wrong Tight lines Andrew
  4. I like Lew's a lot and you could get the tournament pro for around that or an mg which is an excellent workhorse reel I also like the super duty you can cover pretty much every technique with a reel in their line up Tight lines Andrew
  5. Stroking a baitfish colored hair jig of the bottom finesse jigs and shaky heads Tight lines Andrew
  6. I've never heard of extending the handle but I know Abu Garcia makes a rod with an adjustable handle just don't know if it would be for me lol tight lines Andrew
  7. I was just joking lol personally I like split grips for everything Tight lines Andrew
  8. I use braid with a leader for all of my spinning rods and feel it works best for me the modified Albright he's talking about is the Alberto knot it's very small and reliable Tight lines Andrew
  9. You drop the whole dobyns idea and go to St Croix lol just kidding (but seriously) lol if u like split grips on a baitcaster than get split grips it's really just preference lol Tight lines Andrew
  10. I meant to post this a while back but it didn't cross my mind until now anyway I was cat-fishing on the bank back in December and it was cold like edges of lake frozen cold. I had just made a cast and set my rod into the holder and as I was sitting down a group of ducks came by with a couple smaller ones. As they turned around one of the smaller ones sort of got separated from the group, and the biggest largemouth I have ever seen launches itself clear out of the water and grabs this duck and it just disappears the water settles and nothing like it never happened except for the fact that the ducks flew away. On this topic do you think you'd have any luck with a bird type topwater this time of year or is it a one time deal? Tight lines Andrew
  11. I have a St Croix LTB in 6'8 mh fast that is rated for 1/4-1 ounce? This is my jig and Texas rig rod I want to start getting into flipping and pitching techniques this year and have a St Croix mojo bass swimbait rod in 7'8 h fast rats to 1-4 ounce and was wondering if I used this rod to pick up at the 1 ounce point in my rigs and use it for flipping and punching? Would it be to much rod for that? Let me know what you guys think Tight lines Andrew
  12. If you can find the old one cheaper go for it. Last year I bout the previous years model brand new for 120 off the st croix website so deals an be found you just have to look for them Tight lines Andrew
  13. I open my bail when fishing a crankbait and run the trolling motor till my spool is almost empty and then just crank the crankbait back to the boat which gets the crankbait down to maximum depth I tried if after reading an article written by JVD I think Tight lines Andrew
  14. I use the reaction innovations flirt in 4.75 I think it's smaller than five inches I'm sure of that Tight lines Andrew
  15. I would go with the braid and just add a leader in cover Tight lines Andrew
  16. You literally stole the words out of my mouth lol Tight lines Andrew
  17. Well think about it you can always slow down but can't always speed up (at least without jerking the rod around) so you should be good with the 7:1:1 just reel slower and when they want it faster you can give it to them but that's just my .02 cents Tight lines Andrew
  18. I fished that exact rod as a borrowed rod in my first tournament and loved it. It is light and sensitive and has a huge fan base I love all of my st Croixs from my Mojos to my LTBs you will be happy with that rod Tight lines Andrew
  19. I don't have the mojo but have the rage in the same action and really like it all my Mojos are good rods
  20. Can't believe no one posted St croix mojo bass 7' mh fast for a 100 plus you get they're awesome warranty

  22. I will say another thing I have 3 Mojos and a veritas and basically just say it it love my St Croixs the mojo bass series are great along with the avid rage and LTB the veritas is also a good rod either way you will get a good stick wether you choose St Croix or Abu Garcia Tight lines Andrew
  23. Flea market Tight lines Andrew
  24. My shaky head setup is a St Croix legend tournament 6'10 m x-fast with a revo sx 30 with 10# power pro and boy is it a good rod I recommend looking for one of these if you can if not the St Croix rage series is a another good rod and is in your price range I have one I use for senkos in the same action and it works good for shaky head also either way you will end up with a good rod Tight lines Andrew
