Swamp Girl

To help develop some mercy for us northern anglers, open your freezer. See the ice cubes? That's how our water looks. I can only look at my old trip reports so many times and I go back in time and read other old trip reports, but go back too far and the photos are no longer there. So, I rely on you southern anglers to share your tales of glory and woe. They keep me warm and limber. Otherwise, I'll lock up solid like our ponds and bogs and the coroner's report will read, "Calcification by bass deficit," which, in case you don't know, is the number one killer of northern anglers.

@lunkerboss923: I caught a pumpkinseed once and caught yellow perch on two trips, but other than the occasional chain pickerel, I just catch bass. There are white perch in all the water I fish, but I've never caught one, even though I wanna. I did catch a pike once.

All I know is that I am slender, but Bass Resource considers me to be a Hawg. Tough crowd.

We were also ice free in February of 2024. Crazy.

I also love their clothing, but if you love sturdy clothing and if you haven't tried Duluth Trading Company, then give 'em a try. They have great sales, often 50% off or more. Yeah, their starting prices are high, but so is their quality. As I wrote in my opening post, I grew up with Cabela's. As I grew bigger, so did they. So, even if they're no longer the cheapest and even though they've been swallowed by BPS, I'll always still love them.

When I was a kid, I bought my tackle from Cabela's. Their catalog was thin and newsprint. Through most of my adulthood, I continued to buy from them and their catalog was hardback and so thick. When I arrived at Bass Resource, I became aware of other companies, like Tackle Warehouse. Why do you guys not prefer Cabela's?

I have one of those in my canoe, which explains my consistency.

We have hands so sensitive that we can feel the hit and bass-fighting skills so specific that we can nurse the babies to our boats. I'm guessing the big bass catchers have hooked and lost dozens of tiny bass and not even realized it.

Impressive, @LrgmouthShad. If that bass ever reaches five pounds, kept all Pomeranians away from the water!

@Lottabass: That is the fattest bass I have EVER seen. That bass does the impossible: It makes @Bluebasser86's bass look svelte. I do. I like 'em all!
