  1. What knot are you using to tie these on with? When I try to use them they always seem to stay near the surface for the first couple feet then go under.
  2. Shoot count me in for the first ten deal! I would love to try some of those!
  3. True. I will say that the *** feels almost as good as my Irod Air. The Air balances a tad better though but it should as it is a $250 dollar rod. I want to get my hands on an *** so bad!
  4. That last fact alone makes them worth buying. I wish we had more companies in the US.
  5. I love my Academy H2O Mettle. I can cast a hollow body frog about as far with it as my Team Lews or Supertuned Curado E. In fact, I can outcast my PQ by about ten feet using heavier line. The mettle is a solid simple reel that works flawless with braid, but can be a little difficult using smaller diameter lines.
  6. I have two Veritas rods, and one is going back to BP today. The guide on the end just fell off. I tried fixing it with a kit, but it is just not the same. I just got the *** and it is NICE! Not quite a Dobyn's or higher end rod, but d**n sure worth more than $100. Just throwing my two sense in the ring. I am going to trade my veritas for a Compre or something comparable. Tired of all the issues with Abu rods.
  7. Sorry. The actual tips that rest on your ear. The Valor has them all the way to the end. I wear a hat at all times when fishing and the rubber tips on the valor are getting eaten up. The P-17's have rubber right where the ear is but are solid plastic at the end which makes them better in that department. I do like the Valor as they are the military issue, but simply wish they would have use plastic on the very end of them to eliminate the problem that one pair has.
  8. I have the Valor and use to have the P-17. The tips on them get wore out pretty quickly. They are nice though.
  9. Now we are using our heads. If he incorporates half of the things we described, GY better watch out!
  10. Congrats man. That is just great! I wish we had programs like this when I was growing up.
  11. Well Bobby I am going to take a shot at it. When I think of a "stick bait" I always thinking of rigging it wacky style. That being said your new bait has a bright attractive color right at the point of attack...the hook! This bait should make the wacky rig that much "wackier" in the sense that the bright colors should provoke more strikes. That was my initial thought on it. Bait looks great by the way!
  12. I get that look more often than not.
  13. Getting the 7'3" Heavy Xfast for flipping heavy cover. So excited to give it a try. Wanted one forever but other rods just crossed my path first.
  14. Just won a free *** from ***. Excited to see how it handles.
  15. Academy H2O Mettle. One piece metal frame and I can cast them as far as most of my other reels. Plus only 49 bucks.
  16. This reminds me of the scene from Joe Dirt..."how's a rainbow made? why are boobs good? They just are."
  17. Academy has regular PP for 9.99 this week. For some reason, I just like Academy better than Dicks.
  18. I bought two of these, and they feel great for $25 each.
  19. Go to Dick's this week. Mine had a clearance section marked down and an extra 50% off that price. I literally bought 50 packs (I counted) and paid 45 bucks. These are full packs of trigger x, yum, and other brands. I bought a ton of 10" worms and craw trailers.
  20. Ish Monroe uses the River2sea trash bomb in 1.5oz for that exact reason.
  21. 2 fr 50 at Dick's for a decent crankbait rod is a steal honestly.
  22. I know Irod is coming out with a Flipping Stick in the Air series. Would love to see Lew's come out with some new stuff, but as mentioned their baitcasting line up is good at the moment. I saw that Dobyn's is coming out with a DX766 Flipping stick that I have been waiting on. Really I am just excited about some of the new stuff to come like baits, rigs, and such. Always the smaller companies that intrigue me the most.
  23. I want to second this. The Kanzen line is great. I run 50lb with a 17lb Pline Flourocarbon leader and the stuff is unstoppable. I can only imagine how it would handle with a better leader. I run the alberto knot from line to leader and a palomar to my jig, and I have never lost a jig on this set up.
  24. I prefer my frog rod to be shorter. That is about the only difference.
