  1. repack hubs every year, plugs yearly.lower unit also every year.grease all components that need it monthly.detail boat every other month.keep a good wax on it at all times.always do a walk around to check over before each trip. tire pressure before each trip also. remember if you take care of your stuff it will take care of you.
  2. my dad always said "go with what you know" so you fish however you want to fish and experiment when you want.not because someone else tells you what to do.
  3. DVT is the place to go……..nuff said
  4. green or clear Big Game, Stren high impact is as good as Big Game. i like both of them.
  5. Woo Daves won a Bass Master Classic using a closed faced Zebco years ago. he would not engage the handle until the lure finished the drop. he said using that reel he had more control over the bait.
  6. big swim baits, big worms 8-10 inch. big jigs with craw type trailers.all depends on water temp, clarity etc. just keep trying different baits to figure them out.
  7. buy all of em you can…….
  8. mono will cast farther than braid or flour, braid will dig,try some softer flouro. also try letting the lure out just a couple more inches before you cast.and try snapping the rod than just powering through the cast.
  9. i have 4, made all of em. mix blanks, 3 are 7-6 other one is 8foot extra heavy use it for punching. being in florida we do a lot of flipping, pitching.
  10. 50 lb. power pro super 8. no leader.
  11. I use an abu pro max3 works great for me. light reel, use 8 lb. test. small crank baits, worms, grubs, etc.
  12. went with carpet for the reason that it won't scratch the hell out of my rods and reels.plus I like to fish barefooted and it's better on my feet.also quieter, softer to sleep on, whenever the club does our annual 24 hour tourney, you gotta take a nap !
  13. pop-r--swimbait--texas rigged worm 6-7 inch-----baby 1- covers it all
  14. 3-4 inch slider grub,small spinnerbait,small rapalas 3f-5f,teeny rattletrap.
  15. been fishing in Florida my whole life,so here's how we've been doin it. keep 2 hats,1 in the cooler on ice at all times, switching out throughout the day.same tactic with Buffs keep 3 or 4 with me at all times. lots of water, gatorade, fluids etc. then when it gets real hot, fire up the big motor and take a quick ride, cool things off for a while.also clear your head.
  16. also extra spark plugs, socket, ratchet. hose clamps.small wrench set, pliers, block o' wood, prop wrench. electrical tape, zip ties.basic stuff. most important tool is cell phone.also I keep a new jump box, bout the size of a sandwich.comes in handy.
  17. just use what you're comfortable with, I have a friend who will not use a bait cast reel,he has even tried but to no avail.I on the other hand will almost always throw a casting reel. so to each his or her own
  18. I pretty much stick with green. sometimes use clear for a leader when carolina rigging.
  19. all of my bait casters are abu garcia, all 17 of em…….. can't beat an Abu.
  20. do what my buddy does, he puts all his extra rods next to the passenger seat. all with rod socks. he carries wayyyyy to many rods. he has a 373v that will hold maybe 6 on the deck.he carries 15 rods whenever he puts the boat in the water.
  21. also try using the alberto knot, lots of youtube videos on how to do it. great knot for mono or flour to braid. I use it all the time for joining lines. better for a knot than a swivel to go through the guides.
  22. Rapala floating minnow,3f or 5f,small but effective.or a roadrunner.
  23. Mann's Baby 1 minus……..better than a spinnerbait over shallow grass beads.
  24. I love the canals around the Miami airport for Peacock bass,x rap, flat rap, bomber long a, anything fast they will eat.they are super fun fish to catch. I make at least 2-3 trips a year down there.
  25. I have a BPS 7' med heav. bionic blade, one of the white ones with a Penn 4300ssg reel,15 lb. power pro. great worm rod.for using lighter worms, zoom ss tails, etc.
