  1. It's all about the ice ... Once the ice is gone you can catch me trying to catch fish from shore at my local ponds. My tournaments don't start until May for Pike and June for Bass. Had a good day last weekend. Fished for a few hours and caught 2. My friends each caught 2 - 3 each as well.
  2. Just bought the countdown scatter rap in silver. Looking forward to testing it out this weekend.
  3. IMHO you are not going to avoid the algae per-se. You just need to work with it and know that you may need to pick out some stuff from time to time. With the algae in my ponds I stick strictly to TRigged stuff generally. Senkos, Flukes, Weighted swimbaits, beavers etc. I avoid anything with treble hooks.
  4. I would estimate this at around 16 inches. Roughly 2-3lb bass at most. Nice catch regardless of size ... https://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html
  5. Every time I say last cast it turns into 10 or more. Mine don't turn out like that. Lol Very nice.
  6. I just bought the Scatter Rap Countdown (Silver). I never used a countdown lure in general but I assume it sinks roughly at 1 foot per second. I get the countdown part but what about the retrieve? Is it generally a steady retrieve or like a jerkbait? Thanks
  7. The QB carousel continues in Oakland. Hopefully Flynn can live up to that potential. It would be nice to see the Raiders contend again. Of course they would lose to my G-Men but 2nd place isn't all that bad. Right Patriot fans??
  8. Hit or miss for me too.
  9. Spinning Gear with 10 - 15lb Braid with a FC leader. I generally go weightless unless I want it to sink faster. Then I go weighted.
  10. They just arrived at Dicks Sporting Goods. Just bought the countdown Shad in Silver. I will definitely give the a go this weekend!
  11. I literally just bought 2 packs of the Sallemander from Wally World for $3. Looking to give them a try this weekend.
  12. Tackle Warehouse, Bass Pro, Dicks Sporting Goods
  13. My first rod/reel was a Shakespeare Combo. I stuck with that for all my basics and let my obsession take over from there. LOL
  14. Hang in there guys ... it's coming. I was shocked to get out when I did. A little early up here.
  15. Baby Rage Craw on a shakey head.
  16. Check out this vid? Not sure how real this is either ... If you have some time just google "Noodling Bass". There are some interesting videos out there. LOL
  17. I swear by Seaguar InvizX. Switching all my baitcasters to that this year with one exception. My "big stick" will get the Abrazx 20lb test.
  18. I spent the morning on Sunday testing the waters around one of my favorite fishing spots. 5 of us hit this spot and we each caught between 2-3 fish. A lively bunch considering the temps. Below is a pic of my 2. One keeper and another about a 2-3lbs. That one I caught on a shakey head and baby rage craw. So the bite is still very slow. You have to watch your line. Neither of these bites were aggressive at all! It's fun to be out there again!!!
  19. I would love to have been a fly on the wall for that drive with the Govenor after he gunned down his own people. I wonder who broke the silence? I wonder where they went?
  20. Mine is in my avitar. 4-5" tops caught on a #1 EWG hook TRigged with a 3" senko. My friend had a camera handy and caught me laughing at my "lunker".
  21. Count me in. Sounds like fun!
  22. Snagged some very hard to find Yum Salamanders in a Bream color. Fun to fish for bargains.
