  1. Every time I am looking for a funky Strike King color I run to my nearest BassPro. They tend to have SK colors no one else has.
  2. Amazing how little things go unnoticed until something like this happens. I bought a few Sworming hornets last year on clearance and never even tried them. Now I cant wait to use them. LOL
  3. Blakemore Roadrunners and Sworming Hornet Fish Head Spins are two popular brands which best represent what he used. He technically didn't use a Fish head spin but something very similar. His father used a do-it mold to create the lure he won. I have never used it but in his press conference after the win he described what he did. He essentially was fishing it at the bottom extremely slow. Just fast enough to get the blades moving. He used a 3/8oz weight, high end bearing (Sampo) and a #3.5 willow leaf blade.
  4. Nearest BPS is 2 hours away. Not worth doing that. Plenty of other options out there.
  5. Shame ... I heard these happening with the Veritas 1.0's. I was considering buying a 2.0. Not after this post.
  6. VMC Rugby ... my favorite
  7. I fill the spool 50% up with backing. Duct tape that down. When I put new line on I fill it up (70-80 cranks) and I am done. Amounts to roughly two full casts of line on at any given time. Generally ends up about 1/8 of an inch below the first lip. If it's more I don't worry about it
  8. Any vessel is a fishing vessel if you can cast a line and catch a fish!
  9. x2 ... Plenty of time in the winter to get this done the old fashioned way for me. LOL
  10. Oh yeah! There are plenty of us ... Of course my Yak is frozen right now. Once the thaw hits I am cruzin' in my Ride 115x
  11. I buy what interests me. While price is something I pay attention to it's not my primary concern.
  12. Post the links here ... definitely interested in what you found.
  13. Never heard it referred to as a chicken rig ... it looks like a Neko Rig. Great rig with finesse worms, Damiki Hydras, Yamamoto Ika's etc. Played with it some ... caught on it just by casting it out, letting it hit bottom and then fishing it like a shakey head ... drag, jiggle, jiggle.
  14. So sorry for your loss friend.
  15. Seriously ... skipping senkos under docks. I have a 6' spinning which I use for this technique.
  16. I am always actively searching for sales. I travel for work so I get to check out DSG, BassPro and/or Cabelas pretty often.
  17. I watched every minute of the live broadcast. I honestly learned a lot BUT it's all over the place ... Casey - Home field advantage and a lot of prep work goes a long way. He fished within the rules and his preparation was rewarded with a Classic title. Tak - Fished way outside his comfort zone and kept with it regardless how much he "hates drop shotting". His commitment to something which was outside of his comfort zone is impressive. Ike - Had a solid plan ... worked it to death. Just didn't get the big ones to take him to the title. Howell - Stuck to what he was confident in and again died doing it. Maybe he should have changed up but his dedication to his confidence lure also almost got him a 2nd title. So long story short .... There are numerous ways to catch them on any given day ... it's the ability to adapt and make decisions at the right time which separates one from another.

Jackall FlicK shake worms, zoom finesse, bass pro even has a flick shake worm. You can also look up "inchy wacky rig" and get some tips. I personally use them in place of a wacky senko sometimes. Docks, weed edges, dragging the bottom slowly etc.
  19. The only problem I have with the date is that Northern waters will never get a shot at hosting the classic. I would love to see a classic out of Lake Champlain, Ontario etc.
  20. Agreed. He seems like a great guy but this also feels real off to me.
  21. Amazing tournament. Plenty for BASS to be proud of. They pulled off a great show online. Watching him ride with his son and talking about daddy's bait really was the icing on a great win for him.
  22. I used 20lb for flipping Jigs. InvizX on my spinning.
  23. I personally loved this live feed format. Was so attentive to what they were doing. can't wait to see if someone catches a big one to come from behind.
