I fish several tournaments up there every year. It's about 2-3 hours from me depending on the launch. My absolute favorite place to fish is out of Rouses Point. Have had some great Smallmouth fishing up there. Enjoy!

I personally use a uni-2-uni or alberto (still working on it) to tie the braid to FC. From there I use the VMC Swivelshots #1. Start with a 7" tag to the weight. Go up/down from there.

FWIW - The rating is a guideline .... if it's a little over then it should not impact. The only way to know for sure is to try it. In comparing it to Casey's setup there is one little difference. The action of the grub. While that will certainly work in certain situations the key to Casey's setup was the very slow rolling of a action-less bait. The tail on the fluke Jr. is extremely subtle. Not like the pounding action of a grub tail.

I just did this last year and absolutely love it! I use my Orra winch, 12lb test and I use it to fish my Keitech finesse swimbaits. The head of choice is the VMC Half Moon heads. Works perfect for me.
