I was going to say something, but I held off. I hate to be the internet game warden, but I had the same thoughts.

Rant Incoming
They did away with the cash advance on food stamps in Oklahoma. In fact, it only covers certain things. On a similar note....I was waiting in line to buy my beer the other day and this lady was getting pops, chips, candy, ice cream, and cigs. Her total was like $20 and the food stamp total was like $9. I guess her cigs were about $11. Anyway, she runs the card three times and it is declined every time. She tells the girl that it is her Moms card and she knows it has money on it. This girl is about 20 and I guess Mom is sitting in the truck. She hollars out the door at "Momma" and ask if it had money on it. "Sure does" Momma yells back. So, after 3 more attempts she says hold on a min. The lady says I will void this and we can try again after I help these people. I throw my beer up there and while the girl is still fiddle farting around, I say "I promise my card will work, I have a job and this is real money that I work hard for." The little skaliwag just gave me a GTH look and stormed out. I know people fall on hard times. If she had been buying bread, lunch meat, milk, cheese, etc...I would have paid for her food and offered to buy her more if she needed. But this junk food crap on welfare really hacks me off. Okay, I joined the rant. Now I'm done

Next Bps Visit, What To Get?!
For ponds, I like the Booyah pond magic spinner baits or an H&H spinner bait. Popping frogs or other top water poppers are good too.

Duckett Ghost Vs Micro Magic
I would rather save the $50 on my initial purchase as opposed to getting a better warranty. If you break a Ghost after a year, just go buy another one. If you break a micro magic you have to either take it back or ship it back which would take time. You are essentially paying $50 for a warranty. I don't feel like a $100 item is worth spending $50 on a warranty. If I buy a $1,500 TV, then I may pay a little extra for a warranty, but not for a $100 rod that if it were to break would more than likely be user error anyway.

Daiwa Tatula Type R Upgrades And Modifications .
If you are really looking for some enthusiast advice, I would suggest you check out another site with a forum. I'm not sure if I can say the name. There are some guys there that have some awesome set ups. I am not sure if any of them actually fish, but they could sure tell you the best way to blow a few grand. If catching fish is a priority, then this is a really good site for actually learning about fishing.

I prefer foam over cork, so I went with the Ghost. You may prefer cork though.

Deciding What To Throw
I ALWAYS start with a green pumpkin baby brush hog. If nothing is interested, then I will either go to a green pumpkin blue or red fleck baby brush hog or a 7" power worm in green pumpkin. Then I go from there. Sometimes I wonder just why in the world I have so many different soft plastics. I take 60 bags to the lake, and use 5.

I'm Speachless........
My very first year teaching, I was teaching 5th grade. It was the last day before Christmas break and this little girls brings me a wrapped present and says "My Mom said to wait till you get home to open it." I thought, okay. I got home and it was a half gallon of Crown Royal. I wasn't even sure if some sort of law had been broke, lol.

One Of My Favorite Pics - Fishing Related
That's what I am afraid of. He spends a week with his Mom and a week with me, so I basically only see him 6 months out of the year. This little guy is my world and soon enough he won't be my little guy anymore and that is why moments like this pic mean so much to me. The size of the fish really don't mean much, it is the time we spent together catching them. I guess I was just so happy when I found the pic that I had to post it. One of those days I guess.

One Of My Favorite Pics - Fishing Related
I thought I had lost this pic. I couldn't find it anywhere. I just found it about 5 minutes ago. I caught these last spring with my son on the boat with me. He caught a few fish that day but he was proud of the "big" ones, lol. These are some slab crappie. The one on the left was 2.4 and the one on the right was 2.13. I will get a replica made when I catch a 3 lber and I almost did.

Braid Break Off Problems
I have used 65 lb braid and a 15 lb leader with ZERO issues. Actually, they are pretty similar in diameter. You just have to know your equipment and know how to adjust.

If Anyone Is On The Fence About A Shimano Stradic Ci4+ Jump And Get It
Nothing against the OP, but how can you sit on the couch and say something is great. You haven't even casted a lure or much less caught a fish on it. I am glad you like it, but you might want to actually use it before you sing its praises.

Lure Savers??
I don't know. I think the last thing I want is something that is made to intentionally break on my hook.

Balancing Combos .
My guess is it has something to do with the way you are holding the rod. If you are palming the reel then it should balance very well. If you are holding the rod and not palming the reel, then I would imagine that is where the issue is. If you are new to baitcasting, it make take some getting use to. This is what I mean by palming. BTW, that type R only weighs 7.6 oz, that is not very heavy.

Braid Break Off Problems
My fishing partner has broke off more times than I care to remember using braid with a short leader. He sets the hook as if he is trying to drive a nail through a 2x4. I didn't want to say anything because he is a grown man and I am not one to tell someone what to do, so I asked questions. Sure enough, his drag was WAY to tight. I encouraged him to back it off a bit and he hasn't broke off since. I wanted to suggest he not try to set the hook so hard, but I didn't feel like it was worth arguing over.
