It will work fine. I use braid with a MH XF rod and have never had an issue. I assume you could break any rod if you don't know what you are doing though.

My favorite thing to fish is a lipless CB. Even when conditions aren't "right" if I'm not catching them, I will ALWAYS try a lipless. Its a confidence bait for me.

Well if we are talking line diameter as opposed to lb test, I prefer Seaguar Senshi in 15 lb test (equivalent to most 12 lb in diameter)

I prefer a 6'8" MH for squarebills. Of course I use mono and have my drag set to where it works well.
