Megastrike Evolution E2 Jigs
Looking for a jig that will stay in an upright position. I love the MS e2 shaky heads, are these jigs the same principle?

Tackle Warehouse Does It Again
I can't sit back and not give a positive plug for a great site to deal with. I have made dozens of orders and have NEVER had a problem. I have had one or two times where an item was not in stock. I was not charged for the item and I was sent an email to tell me that it was on backorder and I could cancel that part or have it shipped when they received it. In fact, on one particular order the item that was out of stock put me under the free two day shipping. They still shipped the in stock items for free and also shipped the item for free.

The Nice Gear Double Standard Thread
Unfortunately, this is happening on every level and with everything. I see it all the time at school. The kids who have the expensive clothes, shoes, sunglasses, cell phones, etc. etc. etc. Look down on those who aren't as fortunate as they are. The sad part is, they are learning this from their parents. My son wears the nicest clothes I can afford, but he doesn't know the difference in Nike vs. Wal Mart brand and he doesn't care. Unfortunately there are kids in his class (2nd grade) who think that having the best is the standard.

Monofilament Or Braided Line? - The Tough Decision
Here is my take on the subject. If I have a setup that I know I won't be retying a lot, I will use braid with a fluoro leader. I will do this on say a texas rig or a shakey head for example where I am just changing the bait and not the weight or hook. If it is a setup where I think I may switch lures and have to retie, like a spinnerbait/chatterbait/lipless/buzzbait rod, then I will use mono so that I don't have to change leaders as often.

Ka-Powwwwwwwww
Had that happen to me on a lawn mower. I thought maybe it could be fixed. I opened the hood and there was a hole in the block. Should have checked the oil I suppose.

More Rods Or Higher Quality Rods
Some people will never understand this. I have used really high end gear (Steez reels on Steez rods) and now I use Tatulas on Duckett Ghosts. I didn't catch any more fish on the Steez stuff than I do now. In fact, I catch more fish now because I have learned more about how to catch fish, instead of what to catch fish with. I too was once caught up in the whole idea that spending more $ meant that I would catch more fish. Then one day I took my high dollar gear and one of my buddies got on my boat with a couple old rods and old reels. The only thing I could think was "how does he expect to catch anything." After getting my butt kicked (probably 5 to 1) for 8 hours, I decided that maybe I needed to learn how to present baits as opposed to how cool I looked standing on the boat.

Mono Backing Size For Braid
I use the cheapest line that Wal Mart has in usually the smallest they have. I think the last stuff I got was like 6lb Cajun red 300 yards for like $3 on sale.

Bassmaster's Top 100 Lakes...which States Should Not Have A Lake Mentioned?
I have fished 42 and 70 on a number of occasions and there are other lakes in OK that I would put above those. However, there was a tourney 2 Saturdays ago on Arbuckle where the top three teams weighed in a lil over 108lbs (average of 7.25 per fish) and the first place team had 42.71 (new 5 bass lake record) and 6 bass over 10lb. So I reckon that is pretty salty.

12 Ducketts
It really depends on what you are comparing it to. I would say it is about like my Damiki Dark Angel H. It is probably not quite as H as my Crucial was and not near as H as my St Croix Mojo bass. I have mainly thrown t-rigged soft plastics on it with 65lb braid and a 3/8 oz weight.

12 Ducketts
What???? Very uninformed post from someone who I am guessing has never actually spent time on the water with one.

12 Ducketts
I currently use the Ghost series rods and I have ZERO complaints. I use a 7' MH and a 7'3" H for bottom contact rods. The sensitivity is great with these rods. I have used a number of more expensive rods, including a 7' MH Steez, so I have been to the high priced side of the spectrum. I think that for the money the Ghost rods can't be beat. I really like the handles and actions. The guides have been fine as well (what I hear people gripe about). I would much rather have 12 rods as opposed to 6.

Rain Gear Sizing
I am 6'1" 225 and wear a 36 x 34 jeans. I wear XL shirts. I opted for a 2XL because I knew I would be wearing them over my clothes and sometimes that would mean a sweatshirt or something larger when it is cold. I am glad I went with the bigger size.

Why Technique Specific?
I certainly agree that I use certain rods based on what I want to do. Sometimes though, I'm just not smart enough to figure out what rod to use with what bait so I just tie it on and throw it.
-
Why Technique Specific?
For me, technique specific goes no further than a 6'8" MH, 6'10" M, 7' MH. and a 7'3" H. I can pretty much throw everything that "I" prefer to throw on any of these rods. Not necessarily "technique specific" but more a preference. That being said, I can throw a lipless CB on the 6'8" MH or the 6'10" M and really see no difference. Same thing with a 3/16 oz T-rigged worm. The 7' MH or 7'3" H will both do the job. Maybe I am just an agile, mobile, versatile fish catching machine that doesn't need 32 different rods. I was "told" I did and I believed it, but now I digress.

Fishing Pressured Lakes
Fished today and counted 64 trailers on one of the three ramps. We finished 9th out of 25 teams. Caught 17 fish and just couldn't find any good ones. I did think outside the box a little bit. I caught 4 keepers on a Megastrike shakey head with a 7" green pumpkin power worm on 50lb braid. Not idea in most peoples mind, but it worked. We also caught them on lipless cranks.

Getting Hooked.
Not me, but fishing with a buddy one time and he had borrowed one of my Xcalibur XR 50's and was throwing it along a weed line. He got hung up and was trying to rip it loose. I pulled over there and he gave it a good yank and it was flying back at his face and he put his hand up and stopped it. Both the front and back trebles stuck in his hand. The front was near his fingers and was easy to get out. The back hook was buried in the pad of his hand. He had to force it through to break the skin (that skin is tough!!!!!!) and I had to clip the barbed end off so we could pull it back out. This guy is one of the toughest guys I know. Never even acted like it was a problem (I would have been crying). We finished the tourney and he offered to buy me another bait at the end of the day, lol.

Curado I Bearing Question
No need to flush them. It's a Shimano. It has already been flushed with unicorn sweat which enhances the performance of the reel. Don't mess with perfection

Desean Jackson....released
LOL, okay, I understand. It would be like me saying Kendrick Perkins is playing great if he were averaging 7 ppg and 8 rpg. Because that would be much better than what he has shown.

Desean Jackson....released
Walking off the field on his team + throwing temper tantrums = matured????? Oh okay. I never saw Desean Jackson do that, but the Eagles are a standup organization????
