  1. Are you referring to a soft bait that is rigged "weedless"? I always thought a Texas Rig involved a weight that was free moving(sliding). I assume there are many variations across the regions as to what exactly a Texas rig is, but I was taught that it was used with a weight. You could expose the hook for open water, or put the hook back into the bait for a "weedless" approach. I am not trying to argue, just wondering if it is different in different areas of the country.

  3. Xcalibur XR50 in Royal Shad. Thrown with a Daiwa Tatula on a Duckett Ghost 6'10" M with 14lb Sufix Elite.
  4. I had Ohio St in the Elite 8 I did however pick Harvard over Cincy
  5. Big male would be my guess.
  6. I won't recommend a brand as it tends to be a personal preference. However, if I had to choose one all around rod, it would be a 7' MH fast rod.
  7. I can't complain. BIlls are paid, kid is taken care of and I do what I want, when I want. Not gonna lie though, I could always use a little more money to make things more comfortable, but I am happy with where I am.
  8. I've been there. I went to the doctor and I thought he said "You're a beast"............Apparently, he said "You're obese"
  9. I'm with some of the others here. I use snaps on my CB rod.
  10. Do weights and hooks really take up that much room???? I would think you could put 10 weights and 10 hooks in your pocket.
  11. I fished farm ponds, watersheds and reservoirs from the time I was 10 till I was about 26. I thought I was a pretty good fisherman. Then I started fishing lakes and I soon realized that I wasn't much of a fisherman at all. Even to this day I am still learning every time I go out. I will fish a pond every once in a while, but I would rather be out on a lake really trying to test my abilities. Catching a big bass from a small pond really isn't a big accomplishment in my book.
  12. For me, it is time of year and amount of energy I want to put out. During late April/May I love to sit on the boat with a few dozen minnows and try to slay the Crappie. During the summer I like to night fish for big ol cats while drinking a few cold ones. However, if I want to go out for a challenge, I target bass. It can be frustrating, but rewarding at the same time. For me, I think it is more fun to try to figure out how to catch bass, while in the other case of Crappie/Catfish, it is pretty much sit and wait.
  13. I have seen KISS and Def Leopard. I would LOVE to see them together.
  14. You will have to go through OK to get to CA. Pick me up.
  15. I haven't ever used a Lew's reel, but I have a friend who loves them. As far as the rod goes, a 6'6" MH is a pretty good all around rod, especially if you are bank fishing. It seems as though the guy really wants to get you set up and learning, so I would lean toward going through him to help get you set up.
  16. I'm in. I have been on the Shocker bandwagon all year. I have them going all the way. I don't think it will happen, but I would love to see it.
  17. I voted other because I simply don't think they prefer one over the other. I think they are opportunistic feeders and when they are hungry they are going to eat whatever is available. I don't think they would pass up one in hopes of finding the other. I feel like they eat to fulfill a need, not to please their palate. JMO though.
  18. Stay away from Casinos, Gentlemen's clubs and Bars.........Don't ask me about how I know that one
  19. Sufix and PP are great lines
  20. I like Sufix Elite and Sunline Super Natural for Mono I also like the Sufix braid, but PP is fine as well
  21. When the G series was released all the Shimano fanboys talked about how disappointed they were. Now with the I series all the fanboys talk about is how awesome the new reel is. I would venture to guess that the G and I are miles apart according to most who have actually used them.
  22. In other words. You have never handled one, but you won't even give them a chance. Pretty common these days.
