  1. I use a Uni to Uni, or double Uni. I have heard it called both.
  2. Nickname: Plays with Trains
  3. I work a full time job, (as I am sure most on here do) I raise a son and I have hobbies. It takes a TON of time and dedication to do what he does. I was just guessing that he wouldn't find enough hours in the day if he had a full time job and a family.
  4. Let me add to my post. I think lifting that amount of weight is impressive. However, just by looking at the guy, you wouldn't expect him to dunk a basketball. You would expect him to lift weights.
  5. I agree that we have certain rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution. However, remember that document is over 200 years old. That same document also protects us from housing British soldiers. I'm pretty sure no one is worried about that.
  6. Still not impressed. I guess I'm just not impressed by people who have no life other than doing one particular thing. Just like all these professional athletes who do great things. If LeBron scores 40, I'm not impressed. That is all he does, he should be good at it. I guess I am just a lame duck and there isn't much that impresses me. Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Brian Jordan. Now those guys impressed me. Playing 2 sports at the highest level is quite an accomplishment. Some dude being super buff or super strong really doesn't mean squat to me.
  7. He WILL get killed by a lion. Just ask Grizzly Man and Steve Irwin. Oh wait, they are dead.............
  8. Too many probably, but EE, Hank Cherry, Jeff Kriet, Jason Christie, Ish, and Chris Lane.
  9. Because he has muscles???????? If he could last longer than 30 sec then he could kick my butt, lol, but just because he is in shape doesn't make him a fighter. Sometimes a swift punch to the nose really does wonders.
  10. I am a legal Concealed Carrier. However, I don't carry all the time. I carry when I go on vacation or to an event where it is allowed and I think it is needed to protect myself or my family. I am a calm guy. There isn't much that gets my blood boiling. I would avoid a physical altercation at all costs. Not because I am a "sissy" but for the simple fact that I am old enough to know that fights usually don't end well for those involved. I would never open carry. If I am packing heat, I don't want anyone to know that I am. I am all for 2nd Amendment rights, but there are always going to be idiots that take those rights to extremes (See example 2). Both of those guys became "tough guys" because they had the legal right to arm themselves. I don't ever want to have my Constitutional rights taken away, but I do think there is a little reason to everything.
  11. As I approach my first tourney of this season I start to question myself. What depth, color, presentation, etc, etc, etc. Then I begin to set goals (I am a big believer in setting goals) Do I want to catch a limit? A 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20lb + sack? Or do I just want to beat everyone else? I kind of look at fishing like I do golf. I have played thousands of rounds of golf, many of which are for money. Most of the time I take conditions into consideration. Wind, temperature, rough length, green speed, course slope rating all play a factor when I think about what I expect of myself for that day. I look at golf as it is "me vs the course". I don't have an impact on my opponent, no matter their ability. We are both playing the same course, so I can only do the best I can do. So, do you view fishing a tournament as a battle of "you vs the lake", or "you vs the others"? Sure, we all want to beat everyone else, but I just wonder if you have a certain expectation of yourself going into a tourney. Do you set a number of lbs? Do you want to finish top 3? I am curious how others view fishing as a sport. This is only my third year competing and I have gone both ways on my thoughts.
  12. Probably doesn't have a job or family either.
  13. I have one. It is really good rod for sorting cattle to take to the sale. It is a beast. If you fished it in HEAVY cover, it would probably be just what you needed. However, in light cover, it is too stiff IMO.
  14. Is "normal use" catching a 2lb bass and having your drag set correctly and the rod breaking considered normal? Or is catching a 5lb bass from the bank and trying to drag him through the slop and your rod breaking considered normal? To me, they are both fishing conditions, yet quite different in comparison.
  15. Plenty of room. I put mono backing on my Tatula and about 70 yards of 65# braid. If you don't use any backing, you will have more than enough.
  16. He is a G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-GIANT DORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. IMO they are two different animals. I have only used my Ghost once so I can't comment on them long term. I have the 7' H mojo and it feels much heavier and stiffer than my 7'3" H Ghost. I really like the feel of the Ghost rods. First tourney is this Sat so I will know more after a day on the water with them.
  18. They had no idea how it broke. I'm sure there is no one in the world that could tell how it broke. In fact, I was hung up and holding the rod in my left hand while trying to get it unhung with my right hand. I could see the spinner bait. I let out plenty of line, but I assume it wrapped around the end and snapped. I have been hung up hundreds of times and that is the only time I have ever had a rod break.
  19. I had a Crucial spinner bait rod that broke while I was hung up and trying to get unhung last year. Well I took it to the OKC BPS and was given a hard time by the CS clerk. Of course I didn't have my receipt because if I kept every receipt from everything I ever bought, I would have to rent a storage room. So she calls the "fishing manager" who I am certain probably sold shoes a month earlier. He also gave me some grief and told me that the only way he would replace it was if the had the same model on the shelf. Luckily for me they did. However, I explained to him that he was going to get his replacement or money from Shimano and it was a lifetime warranty. I also informed him that I would no longer be buying anything from the OKC BPS.
  20. Even though EE didn't win, very happy for Howell. He seems like a good dude.
  21. 3 Down, Christie didn't show much on day 3
  22. Howell has dodged 2 bullets. Four more left. I'm still pulling for EE
  23. Checked mine today. Nothing special, but I needed some things so I went ahead and bought some of the sale items. Xcalibur CB's were $5, Trokar 6 pack EWG hooks were $5 a pack. Strike King pro tungsten weights were $4 a 3 pack. No real steals, but oh well better than full price I guess.
  24. No Thunder game on the other TV??????
