  1. I think this title should read most COMMON size of fish you catch. Throw out the large and dinks and most fish I catch are 14-15"
  2. Caught a three pounder with two identical green Senkos and hooks in its lip. Other guy should have used heavier line LOL
  3. Here is how I rig. No tangles. Slip swivel on main line. Tie hook to main line. Tie leader to swivel Tie hook to leader. Swivel is free to slide
  4. Get a Photobucket account. Then upload image limk here
  5. Nothing very new about that. Get components from Lurecraft, Lurepartsonline, Barlows etc. Fish wont care about detail. Add eyes if you like. Piano wire shaft Clevis Blade worm weight body hook. Twist front for line tie Twist back around hook
  6. 8 pounder in my avatar. Spring in newly emerging Lilies.
  7. Mold should suck a good amount of plastic as it cools. The gate (skinny part at head of bait where you remove it from the sprue) might be too small or coling too fast (cloggig) and not allowing more plastic to be sucked in. I assume baits are horizontal and not vertical Plastc around 330* Purge air out of injector Inject slow and steady. 5 count. Hold firm pressure 10-15 secs. Remove inj and top off imediately Retop off every 10 secs till it stops sucking in. If this does not work, something is wrong with the mold or mold design.
  8. I like heavy braid to the swivel. Flouro or mono leader to a light hook.
  9. Tie a nut on the line.
  10. Once again giving way too much credit to the bass' little pea brain. If it is in the water and fits in their mouth they will eat it. They dont "think" what it is.
  11. I fish a 5" stick with a 2/0 Mustad weedless hook. I VERY rarely gut hook a fish (guessing maybe 1 out of 50). And I let them hold it a long time before setting the hook. Up to 15 secs. If gut hooked, I remove the plastic and cut the line.
  12. Yes H2O are good. I called SK on phone and had good luck.
  13. Jigman is right. Start simple and learn the ins and outs. I would not reccomend three colors for a beginner.
  14. Yup. Gotta keep the sprue filled at all times. Big sticks shrink alot and draw alot of extra plastic.
  15. Since I make my own sticks, i can adjust the sink rate. I will use a lighter stick when skipping shallow docks like you are. As you said they usually hit it as soon as it stopped skipping so not sure it matters. The lighter ones do skip better.
  16. 4" Ika use a 4/0 Owner twistlock. Rig them backwards (eye by the skirt)
  17. I have not noticed a difference. The 5" will sink faster which may make a difference I also say that Big lures reduce the number of small fish bites but dont increase the number of big fish bites.
  18. 70* water in Virginia and fishing stinks. Not much shallow and we just cant find them.
  19. Last year I unintentionally caught this 20+ Grass carp on a crankbait. It ended up they were feeding on the Cicadas. I end up I started fishing for them with a popper and caught a bunch including a 41#. Dang thing took my boca grip too Crazy aggressive bite that sounded like a bowling ball dropped in the water
  20. To the OP, do you know about cycling an aquarium? The high levels of amonia and nitrites prob did them in. I have had Bass, Crappie and Bluegill in up to 150 gallon aquariums. Neat to watch but you will go broke feeding them shiners, goldfish, worms etc. Mine were like puppies and always at the front of the tank when I walked by and begging to be fed. They are eating machines and would eat till there was no more. I could fish in the tank too. Cast any bait and they would be on it as soon as it hit the water. Here's an old vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPZmgMRyDnk&list=UUF12IUaBYvTWQx2OUVd5woA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCb0aWa1XUU&list=UUF12IUaBYvTWQx2OUVd5woA
  21. Yes but as the OP said you need to find the bass or the best lure in the world wont work.
  22. You are giving a bass way too much credit to their thinking abilities. In many cases baits imitate "food" in general and not a specific type. A worm or Senko does not represent any specific forage IMO Why do jigs and craws work in my lake that has no real amount of craws? What does pink or other crazy colors represent.? Dont over think it
  23. Its a hobby and an addicting one. You say "just one mold" and then you end up with ten. Most pepople will not save money.
  24. I just got a bone Ima Roumba. I used a sharpie marker and put a lil orange on the belly.
