Comfortably Numb

This guy is about 4" long. Someone hand painted the black on the bottom, I assume for night fishing. I am also not sure if it originally was a prop bait and maybe a spook style walker. Unique thing is that it seems to have a one knocker inside that is suspended by a spring or wire. It has a ifferent sound and vibration. Thanks...

Most lake I fish are slightly stained. I do not tourney fish. I use 20# PP on my medium spin rods. 12# PP on my medium light dropshot rod and 8# PP on my light crappie rod. I have tried flouro leaders and personally see no difference except snapping 10# seaguar red flouro on hooksets and losing more lures. However IF money was on the line I would try to get every advantage I could and use a flouro leader. Dont forget 8# mono is thicker and stiffer than 8# braid so braid will give a light bait much more action. Does that even make sense LOL?

A fine polishing compound or metal polish like Flitz. Makes your spinner blades like new too

Nice color combos. I personally prefer a fuller three tab skirt.

I like them both alot and am sure they will catch fish.

The ones I want to repaint, the paint is totally shot and not desirable colors anyway. They have clear bills that I polised to nice and clear. I have KVD hooks to go on them too. Someone mentioned Trey Harpel for painting. I will heck out his work and prices.

Very NOT legal to put in public water. It is considered trash. We put some in a private pond by an extended floating fishing pier we built last year. Not really seen any results yet.

I have only used Silver Buddies and knockoffs from Ebay. Silver for more clear water and gold for stained. Usually 1/2-3/4 oz I lose so many that I buy in bulk from Ebay for like $1 each with no hooks. I change the hooks anyway I heard the Binsky is best but not cheap. I ordered a few on clearance to try though.

Some people use them as jig trailers.

Ya hogs, craws and beavers work well on a shakey. Megabass makes the best standup head IMO.

His way I doubt that hook would stay skin hooked and pop out alot. I would switch to a 4" and use a 3/0 ewg your way.

SK 1.5 squarebill. Spring through summer. Throw it at the bank and cover water. You will find fish. Carolina rig with 3/4 oz weight, 1/0 ewg and 4" french fry. Keeps the bait on the bottom where you want it

Both perform well but I really like the HDS better with its better si and di. As said the HB come complete and ready to use Si Di and 2d as well as GPS. Since new models are coming out you can get a good eal on them. They only use one transducer so easier to switch from one boat to another. The Low HDS comes with a 2d transducer and an electronic box and seperate transducer is needed to add Si and Di. ANY si unit with a 5" screen is very difficult to see the Si screen. Step up to at least a 7" screen if possible.

To get slightly off topic, the Acadamy CRS and CRM are excellent inexpensive square bills but my favorite is the Baker suspending square bills.
