Yup Mitchel 300 was my first reel in the 70's.

Get finished heads from Barlows for around a buck a piece. Get silicone tabs, collars, and the cheap skirt tool there as well as fishingskirts.com No mess and jigs should cost you under $2 each.

Thats why I always reccomend buying finished painted heads for new people. The $5 skirt tool works fine. Start up cost is relatively low. Great for winter projects and you can make some great unique color combos.

Not sayin they are not good baits or wont catch fish, just that I dont think the UV adds anything.

I agree that Sierbert and Northstar make a good quality jig at a good price. However, you can buy painted heads and skirt tabs from places like Barlows and make your own for $1.50-$2.00 Buy in bulk and even cheaper. Just an idea to consider

I actually trid that same color priciple and found it made no difference. But then again I found IME that stick bait color does not make any difference and I have a fairly good hook up ratio on bass over 12". I usually wait 5 secs or so before setting the hook. There also are additives besides salt that make a bait sink and more durable. It cost more than salt and customers would not buy as many baits if they lasted longer so big companies dont use it.

Only 8" but nice and bright blues and orange. Pic doesnt do it justice. Also had a 10" PS and BG that were not quite as colorful. They hit a Rapala Scatter Rap crank in Bluegill. The bream , bass, perch, cats, and crappie have been loving that bait. Even got two 20+ pound grass carp on it.

Grass carp here in Va are hitting Cicadas on top. I caught a couple bass fishing with a crankbait. They explode on it as soon as it hits the water. Biggest I landed was 22# but I had an estimated 30+ get off. Pretty amazing runs and fights. I havea 9wt flyrod I might try. This one went about 15# ...Bill

Used Senkos are hard to remelt because the salt in them absorbs water. Water + heated plastic = not so good. It will probably bubble and foam. Alot of stiring and short heat cycles (15-30 secs) may get rid of it and work. To hand pour those you need the plastic pretty hot so it is thin enough. Its a fine line between just right and overheated/burnt.

No the blue I have would not look good with that. I have one yellow and one chartreuse that you can have but they are old rubber ones.

I have a half blue and half clear with glitter if you want. Its silicone so it wont rot like the original. PM me your address .

IMO Senkos are best fished weighless. That is how they were designed to be fished to get that enticing wiggle. There are better choices if you want to t rig with a weight. I always use 20# PP with Senkos.

Another vote for the H2O Xpress CRM and CRS for value and performance. The sunfish patterns are real nice. I have been using the new Rapala Scatter Rap Crank in Bluegill and doing even better with that one. The wide lip is very snagless too. No weeds in my lake so not sure how weedless. Caught two 20+ pound carp on it too
