Carolina Fishing Trip For Bachelor Party
Yeah, i go up there twice a year on planned fishing trips and up there several times a year with work. (I travel to alot of lakes between GA and PA because i work with aquatic vegetation and lake management) Very familiar with SML. I also like fishing Leesville Res when there isnt a billion trees, logs, limbs, trash and other debris floating down the river.

Jig Sizes
I use 3/8 and 1/2 the most. I like the 3/8 because i can skip it pretty good under docks. And our water is super clear on the east end of the lake that i fish the most. However when my local water are stained or muddy. Id start with 1/2 oz. Murkey water and low visability im almost always going with a DARK jig. Blue/black, Okeechobee patterns, Black, black and red, a drak green pumkin and dark accents like blue or purple. Same rules apply, match the forage. And use trailers that give off good action once the water warms up, because you want the fish to be able to track that vibration and water movement. the west end of my local lake has water and AlOT of wood cover like you discribed, i tend to get well down there by swimming a jig or using a chatterbait.

Red Baits In Spring?
Red and orange craw patter cranks and jigs are productive in the spring. I think it has more to do with the large amount of run off from heavy spring rains, that stain and muddy up the water.

The Road To The Super Bowl
Deaknh just so we re on the same page. Im not saying hes going to the HOF. I seriously doubt that. We live in a society that still hasnt voted Andre Reed into the Hall...and Reed was DOMINANT durring the era that played. Im just saying that he is above average. So we can respectivley agree to disagree.

Prayers Need
Hey guys, i just got off the phone with my Dad who lives in Roanoke Va. He just found out that he has prostate cancer. The doctors say that it is in the very early stages and that the cancerous spot is very small. The docs are confident that they can treat it. My dad didnt seem as confident as the doctors. My dad is 65 and has always had good health so this is a bit of a shock. Just send some prayers our way. Thanks guys.

The Road To The Super Bowl
Def above average on a team with alot of weapons. Almost 800 catches, over 10k yards, 60+ touchdowns. 14 years on the same team The average nfl players career is 3 years. The average nfl player plays on 3+ different teams. Donald driver average.....i think not.

The Road To The Super Bowl
Not superbowl related. But i read where Packers reciever Donald Driver has announced his retirement today. I always thought of him as a hard working reciever. He is def one of the NFLs underrated reciever http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=8900529

How To Skip With A Bait Caster? (Curado)
Oh i knew what you were getting at Mark, I was just saying in general because ive seen fiirst hand too many guys will get on my boat and when we start fishing docks, they turn up the tension and starting wailing away trying to get the lure under the docks... those are the guys that end up with a deep back lash. And theres alot of common misconceptions about the technique.

How To Skip With A Bait Caster? (Curado)
That what i do. Most of fliippin sticks and my dock rod(much shorter) have the tension set looser than what i would use for a usual cast. I would suggest turning your breaks up a good bit if you are new to it. Keeping the tension low allows the lure to really come offering quickly without throwing your arm and elbow out. It should be a free flowing roll of the wrist and then SLIGHTLY pull up as lure contacts the water.I do not agree with turning tension up, causes more problems than you need. Thats what breaks are for. I would not suggest wailing the rod widlly. The motion should resemble skipping a stone. One should realy focus on roll casting and getting a REALLY LOW TRACJECTORY. This helps when it comes to skipping. If you can do that, then you are half way there. Skipping can also be done in a the same manner as a pitch, it just takes practice Gerald swindle has a video on you tube

What Are Fish Eating?
Nothin wrong with putting a bass of legal size in your livewell and see if he regurgatates any thing. I have done that and checked it a few mins later and found a small dead blue gil in the bottom of livewell.

Abu Garcia Villain Vs Quantum Exo
If your choice is villian or veritas, go villain. A firend of mine uses them for worm and jigs. Ive actually fished a jig with a 7'1" MH Villain on said friends boat and i liked it alot. It felt a little stiff at first but it turned out to be great for making long roll casts and med. Range pitches. The rod is flat out sensitive. Its not a loomis or a st. Croix but it def feels like mr.bass is knocking on your door when he picks up the jig. (Was using vicious pro elite fluoro) Ive also heard about alot of breakages with all abu rods. But their customer serivce (and thru pure fishing) is top notch. Yyou can always buy a powell rod
