If you have the luxury of being able to choose 4x4 or not, take the 4x4. Having 4x4 is kind of like having toilet paper with you on the boat, its pays for itself the first time that you really need it.

When in doubt take it to a shop and get their advice and or let them do it.

The best way for me to know for a fact when these transition periods start/end is by continuing to fish my home lakes as much and as often as i can. Keep an eye on water temps too, but the best way i tell from year to year is by going out there and fishing and figuring them out as often as i can. Try to stay on top of them. Everybody had super good technical advice, thats all i can add without saying what they said. Get on the articles section and spend your down time reading and researching.

Bantam Curado CU200 was my first also. I have two, and one of them is in the line up every trip. The other is a reliable spare. I have made it known that i buy Lews reel, but Ive used and own a few from different brands. Knowing what i know now, having used other reels ill say this, shimano is a great company with good quality. If i couldnt get Lews reels i would be a shimano reel man. And if i see a deal, ill still buy a shimano fast! That said, i bought a stradic fj a couple weeks ago for a steal! And a cumara at christmas for a steal. A fish is a fish. My first fish of 2013 was a chain pickrel that was trying hard to get wrapped around my trolling motor. My first bass wasnt much bigger than yours. My 1oz football jig and trailer took up the whole inside of its mouth...lol

Snot grass that can completely cover and hide your bait, sounds like Lyngbya a hybriid filimentous blue/green algae that is so dark it is almost black. Its very thick and summer heat can cause it to rise up on the surface. Hard to fish it unless in the summer time and you can fish CLOSE to it. You are are probably talking about planktonic algae, its generally very loose and will fall to the bottom once temps drop. Lures can easily pass through it and ive observed bass and other fish hide in and around it.

I commend you for stopping to help him. But if you were three minutes late and the stop took 5 minutes, you were already cutting it close. A couple of the local clubs have it in their rules that they must stop to render assistance. Besides in NC it is state law.

Yeah, Ed has been just as important as Ray for several years now. He is incomparable as far as free safetys go. Hes a little older but Kapernick still needs to know where he is otherwise Ed is gonna be dancing in the Superdome. Ed and Haloti Ngata get forgotten about so often but those two men make that defense what it has been. It all start up front with Ngata and in the back end with Reed. Im glad to see those guys finally get there. Theres alot of unheralded guys on the Ravens team. Yea, i like a ravens fan, i do pull for them when im not pulling for my panthers.

I am really happy happy with our Super Bowl matchup. Two hard nosed team that are good at all phases of the game. Its gonna be a slug fest. Its going to be interesting to see the harbaugh brothers coaching against eachother the most important game of the season. And im glad to see Ray Lewis finish his career in the Super Bowl. Win or lose, ray has had a good ride. Also good to see Ed Reed get there, hes another future hall of famer.
