  1. You gotta throw the Lews Tournament Pro in the ring as one of the best for the money. At least i think so.

Fly, i understand completely and its not my place to judge these people and i dont judge them. Some of them turned out to be great indivuals after they made their mistakes. I was actually rooting for vivk to get reinstated in the nfl. I was nt pointing out cheaters or who is at what level of wrong doing. But iwas pointing out a list of great (the possibly hall of fame caliber) athletes who made huge mistakes that have altered their images. For example, when most guys my age mention Mike Tyson, they are probably not talking about how great he was. And as for Dennis Rodman, as far as I remember he was always a stand up citizen, but nobody remembers that all they rmember is a guy who looked like a clown and wore a wedding dress.
  3. This is hard thing to do. Its hard to make a fair assessment if i dont know the range of reel or theres alot that i can refer you to but i havent actually used.

, Add Lance to the list with Tiger woods, Pete Rose, Michael Vick, Dennis Rodman, Mark Maguire, jose Conseco, rodger clemens, tanya harding, lawrence taylor, o.j. simpson....ect, you get the idea. Great athletes that will not be remembered for how good they were at their sport. You can probably add Terrell Owens to the list too...lol
  5. If you like the powells, save your money and buy the endurances (max is pretty good too) you wont regret it. Use the gift card to buy a reel for it. Just my two cents.
  6. Good. Sharpen your skills and your hooks
  7. Nice job Snook! Thats a healthy fish
  8. I have a couple a of them. I dont use them much since i started buying powells. I like them alot. They are pretty sensitive for the money.

Boz was a superbust. Leaf was a superbust. Im predicting he will be a slight bust.
  10. Just make sure to take into account how heavy is the lure you plan on using the most, and how thick is the cover that you will be chucking it to... mh is normally in the middle
  11. Ive used them both on rods that i normally use for spinner baits and ive used them on my jig rod. Either way a 7MH fast should do the trick. I wouldnt go buy a rod just for chatterbaits.
  12. If the motor, lower unit, prop, gages and livewells are in good working order. Id say go for it, buti would offer 2500. Because if you plan to "clean it up" with new carpet, seats and a used boat cover would be a good idea, you are going to spend 500 quickly to do that. I agree that those old rangers are tanks and cant stand alot. But if he is firm on 3000, then it really isnt a bad deal either. Dont pay me any mind i am a hagglar and bargainer by nature...lol if nothing else he can have it serviced and detailed for you
  13. I bought some a few years ago and it wasnt bad line. I like sunlines mono better. I use it and big game as backing generally.
  14. I like to throw my large topwaters, frogs, half oz buzz baits, big spooks, lunker plunkers, and big wake baits on my frog rod. So im using at least 50lb braid. On my most used topwaters like sammys, gunfish, poprs, prop lures, ill useto 8-12 mono I say as low as eight, because i like to throw the lighter ones on a spinning rod.
  15. Ive used them on carolina rigs and for pitching weightless but i havent noticed bigger fish. I know i geet more bites off of the 5 or the 3" lures. The 7" is a very situational bait for me, ill use them in early fall when the shad are running hard. Its not uncommon for us to see 6 or 7 inch shad in the fall. So thats when i like to pitch and crig the big ones. But i am not abkle to call it a big fish bait
  16. I have one, its a stud. If you wana spend the dough to get em, you wont be disapointed.
  17. I will say that i was hoping this whole walmart thing wasnt true. I went to my local walmart and all they had was deer/hunting rifle rounds. No 308s,no223, and only two lonely little boxes of. 380. It was late in the evening and i wasnt able to speak woth the sporting goods attendaant.
  18. I dont have a favorite or a most productive. You really have to take in consideration alot of variables. I can give you a few trailers that i will swim based on what is going on. You almost have two look at them as different bait. Depending on speed of desired retrieve and forage that your trying to match and activity level of fish. RI skinny dipper Rage toad Stanley Ribbit double tail grub single tail grub And whatever your favorite craw with big claws.
  19. Getcha a spiining rod to rod round it out. Between the the two rods you have a spinning rod you will be able to effectively work any topwater.
  20. Its got to be one of the best reels ever made. I have a few that i striper and catfish with. I used a couple of mine for cranking for a long time till i bought "crankin reels" never had a bit of trouble out of mine.

Easiest way to survey this lake to see if catfish are there. Simple. But before you take my advice please look into your states wildlife regulations and see if you can do this. Jug fish it with crappy minnows or any kind of dead bait fish or cut bait ( in NC we cannot use live bait on jugs and we cannot use more than 40 per person). There are all sorts of high dollar "jugs" made with pvc and all that. But for this experiemnt get as many two liter bottles, milk jugs, or any type of plastic container with a lid. Tie on some masons line, heavy braid, or just 20# mono. Tie on a circle hook and put on your bait. Use a boat to spread jugs. Use boat to get to and retrieve jugs once you see a fish on the line. This is probably the most thorogh and effectice way i can think of to survey this pond. Remember to check into your states wildlife regulations before you do this and make sure that it is legal in your state. All of my personal bests in catfish have come from this method.
