  1. Those are some really cool patterns. I especially like top right and lowerleft. I like some of my green pumkin and brown jigs to have a few strands of blue. Good work.
  2. No lucky song, but i do actually turn on pandora and turn the volume down and listen to christian music, casting crowns, third day, red, ect....while i fish. It doesnt seem to bother thr fish any.
  3. It absolutely is worth it. SunLine, Seaguar are terrific fluoro. I didnt like Berkley Vanish.
  4. sweet deal! I bet you will enjoy those!
  5. Rip, i still have not got a BB1, it looks like it would be a good reel. What are advantages over the tourney pro that it has if any? They say that those reels cast a mile
  6. My wifes PB (6lbs) came off a rebel pop r silver and black. She didnt care for the bait at first but since she caught that fish she thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Because i was too cheap to buy the equipment and whatnot. I got a burnt copy of the dvds. after insanity i started going to a gym that is owned by a local bodybuilder/cop and he got me on a really intense high rep/low weight work out. I still do that routine 4 days a week but over time i have went way up on the weight and still long reps. My problem is since my brother died in November, i have let my routine and diet go to hell. I cant blame ot on his passing, but its true. In all fairness, i didnt give 90x a fair shot.
  9. RW, wow. I need to go out your way.

Fly alot of those people are already in great shape and look for another challenge. But Ill say this, if you have your daily caloric intake, protein, carbs, and good fats in check or follow the dietary guide it will def speed up results. Both in fat loss and muscle growth. I think 90x is a great routine, (tried it) but Insanity is better(completed it) I say this because, all of these excercise can be done without bands and ect I was 239 lbs when i stared eating right and insanity. I got down to 189. ...back up to 205 so i can probably stand to do it addition to my routine
  11. I love them on a jig. But they are a one fish bait.
  12. Duh!! Rebel PopR !! (Green perch pattern) Close second is Spro Poppin Frog / black
  13. Prayers sent to AL. Thanks for the notice.
  14. oh man, sorry to hear that. I hope you get it replaced before it warms up.
  15. Bad things happen to good people and it sucks. I hate that you have had a rough year and that your health isnt great. But its important that you keep your head up, have faith, and continue to be a strong example for your children even though it may feel like your world is falling apart. Prayers for you bro.
  16. Versitile rod. Really anything @ 1/2 oz or less. Being a med mf, it should have some flex to it, id like to have it on the deck if I was fishing under docks. Rods like that make great "skippin rods"
  17. Well my boats at half a tank, so.... 24 gal of fuel, a gallon jug of AMSOil, some stabil, and campground fee for the weekend, 12 pack of beer, steaks, two packs of Marlboros, and whatevers left goes back in my pocket.
  18. Budlight and breakfast is awesome. If the waffle house served beer they would def need a bigger building.
  19. TriCityBassin, the next your are down here on Kerr or Gaston, give me a shout. Ill show you how to work a jig. J/k buddy. Just keep focused on on finding the fish. Sounds like you may need to change ssomething. Just keep hammering away at it until something happens. You keep finding the fish and they will eventually bite the jig. And no, ive never fished a lake or pond that i couldnt get a jig bite. Alot of times its the only thing i can get bit on. But seriously, next time u fish gaston or kerr, pm me ahead of time and i can give you a heads up on what the deal is down here. Good luck to ya bro
  20. Windy? Make sure you take you spinner bait rod and charge your tm batteries. Hahaha unless its 30+ mph, wind doesnt stopp this guy. Im probably going in the next hour.
  21. Ok this is a mouthful so im going to try my best. There are a few types of jigs. Casting, flipping, football, vibrating jigs and swimming. Since you are new to it, Im going to just talk about casting/flipping vs swimming jigs. I am an avid jig fisherman but do not take my word for the gospel feel free to experiment on your own. Here goes... The biggest physical difference in all jigs is head style. The size and shape of the head will allow the jig to navigate through different enviroments. Casting and flipping jigs normally have round heads, rocker style heads or arkie style heads. These jigs excell at pitching or flipping to cover. Arky style heads are ok in heavy but not as good as rocker style heads. Arkie style heads have a flat bottom and are good for skipping the lure under low limbs and under docks. Rocker style heads tend not to get hung as much in brush and wood cover. The next big difference in jigs is their hooks. Some flipping hooks have much stouter hooks so that you can use a heavier line when fishing around heavy cover or heavy vegetation. Alot of the new swim jigs now are being made with narrow rocker style heads or bullet shaped heads. This is so that the jig may swim more easily through grass, sumerged vegatation, and other obstacles. As for colors wheather it is a casting, flipping, or swim jig. You want to choose a color or color combination that will mimic the forage on the body of water that you are fish. The basic colors for flipping jigs are normally your greens, browns, and black/blues. I like to select combinations of colors that mimic both crawfish and bream since in my local waters they are very abundant. On my flipping or castic jigs i normally choose a craw trailer or twin grub trailer. On swims jigs you still want to choose a skirt color that will match forage. The color palate opens up for me a little bit on swin jigs. It could be a greenpumkin and orange skirt to mimic bream or fleeing crawfish. Or might choose a white and chartruese shirt to mimic our shad. It just depends on what im trying to imatate. I tend to get a bit more creative on the trailers for swim jigs. You have a variety of choices but just keep in mind that the fish you are tageting will ultimatley decide what they what. You can use a paddle tail swimbait, frog, a craw, or a grub trailer. Remember it doesnt always have to match but it does need to compliment you skirt to accomplish the goal of matching the forage. Alot of guys on here use craw trailers like rage craw for a trailer on swim jigs. When and where to use either- i like the casting and flipping jigs when i am casting or flipping to specific target or target area. Once you cast to or slightly behind your target you working the flipping jig by hopping, or dragging. Sometimes the fish like a fast presentation, sometimes, ill flip it the target and let it sit there and then shake it for a few seconds before I even move it. Swim jigs are just what the name implies. Its a jig that you are going to swim back to you. I like to swim it slowly and give it twitches as i go. I alsothe like to yoyo it andand bounce it quickly EXPERIEMNT RETRIEVES ON YOU OWN. I like to use swim jigs to cover water a little faster than spot casting. Much like you would use a spinner bait in close quaters. They are versitle in that you can make a short pitch to a target area and working it either quickly around the cover and try elicit a strike. And last but not least. Theres nothing wrong with using a casting or flippig jig and swimming it or bouncing it back to you. Theres been a number of times when ive had a 1/2 oz green and orange jig and a craw trailer on for flipping and ended up catch numbers of fish by swimming and bouncing it back. Good luck. I hoped i helped. Go to the video section and see the video series on jigs. They did a great job on them.
  22. Crank - Spro Fat John/Spro Little John **chartruese black back or nasty shad Lipless - tie between Sk Red Eye and Rapala Clackin Rap8. I do most of my lipless fishing with Red Eye Shad in Red Craw or Blue Gill. Rapala Clackin rap in Green Olive.
  23. Dave, if you are new to baitcasters, turn the break dial on 10, and tighten the tension enough that you can hold the rod at 9a o clock or paralell to the ground and release the spool. The lure should slowly fall and hit the ground without over running. This is gonna make for short casts but focus on accuracy to targets. As you gain timing with thumbing the spool you can turn the breaks down little by little. The Speed spool is a terrific reel. Good luck.
  24. Dinner and a shopping trip should do the trick.
  25.
