What is your Chatterbait Set Up? Anything I am doing wrong?
Your rig sounds sweet... just focus on detecting the hit, sweep the rod, keep him down. I lost a bunch ofnpickrel last week on the jackhammer..sometimes it happens. You are doing alot of things right.

Matching the hatch
Something else to think about is lure size and length when matching the hatch.

Bait Cast Reel Sizes You Use Most ?
100 and 150 I like the best. I have aCore 50 I fish it on a pitching rod(Dx 744) ,prob should at least be a 100 or 150 but it makes a difference when you are make super quick flips and pitches to mats and holes all day. I almost forget it's there. I like it alot.

Casting rods
I have a Dx 744, it's my primary jig rod, one of my favorite all around rods. I was just telling @AmmoGuy that Powell is this way with their 4 power rods as well..its really a mag mh. I love it. The 744 has a soft tip, loads easy on a 3/8 jig, but once you set the hook in one, you see how powerful that rod is. I use my 744 in heavy cover i.e. brush, lay downs, heavy hydrilla, milfoil,. Etc. Dont let that soft "noodle" tip fool you. But they make that rod in 5 power as well... so go up if it's not your thing.

Anyone use the Jackall TN lipless baits?
I'm a big fan of the disk knocker.. Profile was different. That's why I bought it. It catches.em. How I fish em? I have 3 methods.. Constant retrieve..works well being burned. Constant retrieve slower with me adding little jerks to rod tip. Last but not least, ripping it. I like to give it a steady retrieve and stroke it and rip it..works great around grass when.a.steady retrieve is difficult.

Losing Teams
Whiners need to put on their big boy pants. If you want to spread the pay out just a little, then do so. Cant hate on a team for winning. Others need to step their game up and challenge these guys. Point blank. They need to man up! Only other things you may can change to add parody,: If it's one lake, then add a couple lakes. If it's a long reservoir like my home lakes, mix up the launch points. If their money spots at 30 miles away, they may not want to ride that far on the boat in a tourney...or they may. I'd mix it up to make it interesting in the since of fairness and parody, but that is something that should have been going on all along. Good luck man.

Advice for catching Pickerel
Fire tiger, chartreuse, sexy shad, and chrome, and all white. Any of those color combos on a 1.5 or 2.0 size crank or spinner/chatterbait. They loooooove chasing moving baits. I've caught them on topwater walkers/poppers too! Donkey rigged flukes are deadly when they are chasing baits. They tend to run in packs chasing an easy lunch.

Bear Encounters While Fishing
I've seen a scraggly looking adolescent bear taking a stroll through the woods one time...only once. We have a decent black bear population but both lakes have alot of houses on them.

Using Scent?
Nope makes a mess. Had an accident with JJs 6 years later I can still smell it when I open my.compartments

Extra Fast vs Fast Action Question
Typically for me, I like the xf, on a jig or bottom contact rod. Fast is what you were looking for, there's on side that believes a even med fast, or mod fast would be more appropriate for.keeping that fish pinned. I think you can certainly.use it. ALMOST ALL My Powell rods are listed as extra fast and I use them for moving baits..both my 723s Just try it out.. If your concerned you can counter act the fast action a bit by using a line that has little stretch mono would worl, and there are a few flor o lines out there that have more stretch. I would take it out and try it and see if.it WORKS FOR YOU.

I’m going to say something I truly never thought I’d say...
Don't feel bad. I'm in the same boat with you..Been a 3.75 kinda start to the year. Caught a ton of 3-4.5 but only 5 over 5lbs. Only 2 of them over 6. But fishing has been funky here for almost weeks with super high levels, chocolate milk, generating, and flooding. And rain almost every day last week.

Life Jacket
Amen. I've heard it talked about in many meetings. The old TDwould tell us all the time that fishing isn't that important compared to the needs of others. We had a guy a long time ago see another competitor get out of his boat, assist a kayaker that had went overboard, he flipped the kayak over, got the kid back in it, and helped him collect whast.gear they could find.... well the guy who saw the competitor give aid, made a grievance at the weigh in that the man exited his boat and should be disqualified...... Whoo hoo the old men in the club gave that guy an earful. He was but hurt that the man give g aid placed in the top.3 and was just looking to cause trouble... MAde me mad. in another note, the kayaker in the story was a teen wearing a pfd

Choosing color for topwaters
Monkey butt is one of my favorites in the plopper.. translucent with just enough color to be mistaken for pan fish or shad. I like the blue hill patterns on the KVD Wake bait and the Storm Arashi Wake bait. Even tho they have slightly different actions, I use these two in tandem if I need to, the Arashi has a lighter blue gil pattern and is subtle, the kvd version is darker. I'm fond of both lures I carry them both in a few colors.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Oh yeah..steal for sure.. should serve him well. He can use his Xt for bottom techniques. I think the shakesphere will do great for moving techniques and top water for him. The shakey head rods will prob do great do.
