rod and reel under $100
i actually have 2 lightnings, but have pflueger trion reels on them both. the trions are good reels too, but the presidents are a bit nicer! the lightning rods are hard to beat and pretty easy to find.

never on the spinnerbait! i've caught them on the t rig, wacky worm, jerkbait, crankbait - probably more, but never the spinnerbait!- rod and reel under $100
berkley lightning spinning rod and a pflueger president spinning reel, will be right at $100 and an excellent combo for your needs...- ever do something this stupid?
i once drove about 1hr15min to the lake, got there before first light, everything was absolutely perfect.... then i realized i had left my kayak seat at home. can't exactly get away without it either!! i fished the small portion of the bank that i could so that it wasn't just a turnaround and go home deal, but i'd never felt so stupid!!- Heavy Duty Wacky Jigs
nice work man! my favorite hooks no doubt!- rod & reel set-ups
Last week i just picked up my 4th team lew's pro z in 7.1:1 ratio. bought one and after i used it a few times, immediately bought 2 more. then found a deal on one last week and had to get another!! if you want to see some people's gear, check out this thread:- How to get title in nc

honestly the anchor trolley is my least favorite addition, least used too. fishfinder is a killer for getting my depth, crate is crucial so i can carry every piece of tackle under the sun!- Just caught this hawg!
duuuuude nice fish!!! your jaws still hurting from that smile?!?!?- dobyns spybaiting rod
if i were you, i'd buy my champion series 682 listed in the flea market- dealing with rude ignorant people while fishing
i fish at a couple of spots sometimes that have me looking over my shoulder, but i've never once had a confrontation with someone. even there i'm usually approached by people who ask if i've ever caught anything here, what i caught it on, etc. i know there's crazy, rude people out there, but from the way you talk it sounds like an abnormal concentration of such people. part of why i fish is because i can be out there, often alone, and not worry about a thing except for the next spot to cast or next bait to try. if i had to also worry about which jack@ss would be the next to give me a fit, i'd find a new spot or a new hobby to be honest. i've never been in a real fight and have ZERO intentions of changing that so i wouldn't do a thing except walk away and move on....- Spinnerbait Questions
Xwhatever it is now for war eagle as far as cost goes.... if money were no option, i'd only fish terminator T1's, they flat out work.- Reel Handle
my lew's pro z have the eva knobs which i MUCH prefer over some of the others that i've tried, even the septon knobs which i like as well.- Baitcast Rod - Paralysis by Analysis!
that 7'MH Avid is a stout stick, the one i had was heavier power than i wanted for it. i doubt you'd get it to load up well enough to cast the 5" senko very well at all. i have a dobyns 4 power rod and think it too may be a little tough to load up on the weightless senko, but would probably do it easier than the avid, but would be fine for the other techniques listed no doubt.- Carrot Stix
i'd almost bet you that's the case... look it over pretty good and if you don't see any e21 stamps or logo on the butt or anything, you probably got one of the early models, the good ones.- Triumph X, Bucoo, or Veritas 2.0
- Zebco 33 and 50 lb braid
i'd mostly agree, but the OP already lives in Mexico so his expense vs. you and I is minimal... all here are concerned with the catching, if i were you, i'd just be concerned with having a good time with your grandpa. i'd give anything to fish with either of mine again.... i'd do it with a coke can and zebco monofilament if that's what it took to go with them again....- What time
oh man, i wouldn't worry about it one bit then...- Reel Handle
pretty sure that site sponsor Hawgtech makes a 102mm for Lew's- Good casting rod for skipping jigs
welcome man! one piece that will help narrow down some suggestions is what's the budget as far as the rod goes?- Carrot Stix
if you've had them for 5 years or so, you've likely got the pre-e21 versions which were much better rods in my opinion. my buddy still uses his to date and it's a pretty good stick. i had purchased 2 of the post-e21 series and they were not all that, sold them pretty quickly, thankfully before either of them broke.- Website issues today
