Best spool bearings for '13 Metanium 100?
For future reference ceramic doesn’t have to mean loud. Bocas are loud for sure. The Zpi uses a Sic material and are the quietest bearings I’ve used so far next to YT Fusions. The HH ones are nice too though. I have a set of air hd’s in a reel and they’re also very quiet.

Best spool bearings for '13 Metanium 100?
Zpi Sic - $32 set from Tackle Trap. Well worth the money for a super high quality Jdm bearing.

OG Zillions vs SV Zillions
The og zillions are tried and true reels. Same as the td-z. The new zillions aren’t even in the same league. The sv103 will be the closest thing to it. It’s built on the same frame and uses a lot of the same internal parts. I can’t say it’s better but I feel it’s equally as good. Especially since it uses a 34mm spool. The 36mm found in the og really limited your choices for other spools.

Best reel cleaning service?
Depending on where you live there might be an authorized Shimano repair shop. For instance Tackle Trap in AL is an authorized Daiwa repair shop and I believe Shimano too but I’m not 100% sure. You shouldn’t have to spend money on a brand new reel though in my opinion. Find a way to exchange it if at all possible. Shimano customer service is pretty good and they should take care of the problem free of charge. Either by exchange or repair. You will probably have to pay for shipping it to them though. Most places don’t cover that part. Shimano US 877-577-0600

Best reel cleaning service?
Best is subjective and people have their preferences. Ian Shields is considered the BEST in the tuning world. People from all over the country send him reels, many of which are costing $800-1,200 for a single one. He knows his stuff and how to get maximum performance out of a reel.

Magnetic vs Centrifugal vs Digital Braking System
They all have their respective positive properties. The dc system is very unique. Daiwa air brake technology found on the sv spools is also unique. Daiwas mag force v is the best magnetic braking system out. centrifugal brakes work off centrifugal force and really aren’t too fancy. The Shimano system works well thoug. I’d say they work the best in that category.

Lure hardware - screw eyes
Thanks for the info. I did plan on using some sort of epoxy on it. I figured it came with screw eyes so I am hoping to just be able to use them to fix it. It was a gift and I’d just like to be able to use it. It’s not drilled through though.

Daiwa Steez SV TWS Spool interchangeable with SV103?
Yes, both are 34mm and can be interchanged no problem. The stock Steez sv tw spool is better than the sv103 spool though so I’m not sure why you’d take it out.

Why on earth would anyone spend $400 on a bass rod?
It’s called get in where you fit in. We all have different budgets and to some a $300 rod is crazy talk. No, you don’t need it to catch fish. I’ve been outfished by an old man using a St.Croix 1st gen rage spinning rod. However, I get a sense of enjoyment from using high end gear. A mart uses his line of enigma rods and has zero problem catching fish with them.

Lure hardware - screw eyes
It could be. It’s a handmade Japanese bait and I can’t find any pics of it online. It’s a topwater lure so I’m not sure if it would be weighted or not. I was thinking one of the decorative metal insert pieces maybe.

Lure hardware - screw eyes
They have them but in packs of 25. I need only 2. I figured a bait maker on here would be willing to send me 2 if I threw them a few bucks for their time.

Lure hardware - screw eyes
Too heavy duty for this application.

Lure hardware - screw eyes
I’m looking for 2 screw eyes for a wooden bait I have. I’ll pay you for shipping and toss you a little for the parts. I need one for the line tie and I need one for the front hook. The hook hole is recessed about 5mm and looks like there was another piece also used. The rear screw eye is roughly 4mm o.d.

Daiwa TD Z Fuss.. Is it that good?
They were also offered in two different gear ratios. 5.7 and 6.3

Daiwa TD Z Fuss.. Is it that good?
Ryan, is a PO collector. He has them in both configurations and all of the colors that were available I believe. If not all than at least 8 of the 9 offered colors. White, pink, and green are the rarest ones to find with white being #1. Blue, solid red (not metallic red) and yellow are the colors you typically find when you do find one for sale. The remaining colors aren’t as rare as the first 3 but aren’t usually “as easy” as the middle 3 I mentioned. If finding a mint PO in any color is even considered easy haha. Metallic red, metallic gold, and metallic black are the other 3 colors. It’s estimated that less than 1000 of each were produced but since nothing official is out there nobody will ever truly know.

Manufacturing error in Rod
You should be able to totally unscrew it and rotate it. From the pics I just looked at there would be nothing stopping it. I can do it on my casting rods. It’s accidentally came off when I unscrew the top part too far to remove my reel.

2018 Daiwa reels
So far 2 of them have been let out of the bag. Should be available about March. A new ryoga 1016 and the sv light. Which seems to be a special edition (Tn limited) ss sv with 32mm air spool.

Steez 100hla feedback please
Zpi offered spacers. You can still pick them up online from overseas auction sites. I also believe Ian Shields can source them for you. You need 36/34.

Steez 100hla feedback please
That should do pretty well. The tdz has a little stronger braking profile from what I remember. A great all around spool is the rcs 1016. I just picked up a Steez 100 spool with the 1016 rotor and r+ spring. I’m looking forward to testing it out. Should be pretty close to the rcs. I got spoiled by using sv spools all the time since they require very little thumb if any.

Steez 100hla feedback please
The 103 is only wild because of the type r rotor on the spool. With a little thumb it can cast just fine. You just can’t be forgetful.

Steez 100hla feedback please
First high end reel I ever bought. With all the spool and gear set options you can do anything with it. They’re currently selling for around $200-225 in good used condition. Saw 3 righties the other day for $150ea.
