Good Braid Knot For Buzzbaits
If I'm using straight braid then it's a palomar. Any other line I use a Uni.

Reasons To Bass Fish From A Kayak
Why would you even put a yak on a lake that allows gas engines on 4th of July weekend? That's clearly your fault. It's the busiest holiday of the year.

What To Use To Wipe Down Exterior Of Reel?
I use the tears of newborn bass after they watch me drag their mother away.

Elite Pros And The Rods
Whatever company pays them the best is who's products they're going to endorse. A FLW pro that I know fishes with Halo rods. He seems to do just fine with them. Its the Indian not the arrow.

Sd Jam Vs Improved Clinch, Underdog Wins
I gotcha. I use braid with a leader myself. I tie a pretty long leader though. About 5ft or so in length. I mainly use the uni knot since I use fluoro for my leaders.

Sd Jam Vs Improved Clinch, Underdog Wins
Throw the palomar in the mix and see where it falls. It's even easier to tie while on the water.

^^^ I remember my first beer.- Neko Rig
Finesse wide gap hook in #1 1/16 lead nail weight in nose Rig like any other wacky worm.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Haha well he just received your dream boat today from ACK. Lime green 13.5 with bending branches angler pro paddle. Rudder kit, anchor trolley kit,and drift sock.- Cool New Treble Lure Storage!
So many egg puns. My brain is starting to get scrambled.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Too bad you aren't close to Md. My buddy just sold his with a paddle for $1,000. He only had it for a month and put 5 trips on it. He took delivery of the lure 13.5 today loaded with extras. I debated buying it, but I already have a ride 115x. Though the seat and standing area of the lure were better in my opinion.- Cool New Treble Lure Storage!
^^^ same here.- $150. How Would You Allocate Funds For A Rod And Reel?
The rod is more important than the reel. You want as well built and sensitive of a rod as you can afford. There are a lot of great choices in the $100 rod category. As for a reel maybe try finding a used $100 reel for about $60. My very first combo was a bps pro qualifier on a lightning rod shock. It served me well, and is still in use years later by a friend. I spend more on reels myself, but I don't go super cheap on rods either.- So Do I Have The Handle On The Wrong Side?
Different strokes for different folks. There's no correct answer here. Do what you like.- Slip Shot / Split Shot Rig : Braid Or Fc Line ?
I use a leader on every combo I have, except three. Two of them have straight fluoro for weightless plastics, or light trigs. One has copoly, and it's a top water setup. I throw the split shot rig on my spinning rod, or ml casting setup. Both are spooled with #10 braid. I tie on a #6-8 leader of yozuri. Hope that helps some.- Bad Batch?
Bad batch. Considering how many use it with zero problems. I have 600 yard spools of 6-12 that I use for leaders at the moment.- Swimbait/glide Bait Rod For A New Guy
A 2-3oz bait is the sweet spot on it. Any more than that makes it feel overloaded to me. Works great for baits like the spro rat,S waver 200,8" triple trout, hardgill, coach gill,9" slammer, hudd 68,8" savage gear trout. I do have an 8" hudd that I've thrown on it. It will work, but just feels like it's starting to push the limits of the rod. That would be the heaviest I'd throw on it. Luckily that's the heaviest bait I own so I'm good there.- 20 replies

I use exactly what you have mentioned. Okuma guide select 7'11 H Cardiff 301 #20cxx Great setup for about $200. The rod is rated to 6oz but anything over 3oz starts to make it feel overloaded. Just a heads up.- 20 replies

- Kayak Bass Fishing!
I remember reading on here "it's not if, but when you'll turtle your kayak" I also remember kinda getting a laugh out of it. Jokes on me now. We were on the Potomac River. We've floated many of times before with zero issues. Yesterday was just a bad day for some reason. At least it was hot out and the swim was refreshing.- Kayak Bass Fishing!
I hadn't either until yesterday haha- Kayak Bass Fishing!
Well we did a a 6hr float today. Caught a bunch of smallmouth. Great time had by all. Today I got to experience flipping a kayak. Not once, not twice, but 3 times. 2 due to hitting a rock in some riffles while being a bit sideways. The last time was trying to pull a snag free. I learned not to wrap braid around your hand while trying to do so. Sure seems a lot stronger than #10. Camera was on for that one. Warning - some cussing. - Did I Get A Fake G Loomis Nrx? Help!
