Hedgehog did have one that was basically just an anodized stock tension knob. I don't see it on their site any longer. Doesn't help you much since you say it's too small. Looked like this.

Sounds like the R drag star is more offset.

The oem style replacement will. The one with the cut outs will not. It's too tall and hits the drag star. The Slp works one will fit and also makes it click. It's like $45 though. Not worth it to me.

Spool tension knob is referred to as the cast control knob by a lot of people. It's the same thing. You're talking about the magnetic brake dial. That's on the palm side plate. Magforce Z cast control its talking about the braking system

1/4oz isn't bfs to me, or a lot of others. So any medium and even a lot of medium heavy rods would have no problem casting that weight. 1/8oz under is where I consider bfs. You're saying that you plan to throw 1/4-3/8oz baits which is generally a med or mh rod. The ml would be ok for 1/4 but 3/8oz it might not be enough. Thats just my .02 though. 1/8oz weight with trick worm - medium 3/16oz weight with rage craw - mh I have a Recon 2 713 ml that I use as my bfs rod. It's rated as a fast action but it's more of a mod fast. Hasn't been an issue though. It helps to load the rod. I've never owned another ml casting rod so I can't compare to others. I feel that it's a tad more powerful though. Since I rarely venture into the 1/8oz range it works well. I throw ned rigs,1.0 square bills,3" wacky senkos, and 1/16oz jig head with a trick worm.

#10 power pro on my finesse casting reel. Works fine for me.

Ups just delivered my 6'7 M/F *** black 2. I brought my Alphas SV to work so I could get a feel for it. They pair well cosmetically and functionally. The balance is great and it should make a good jerkbait rod. Also squarebills and weightless plastics. It's a $100 rod so I understand not to have super high expectations. I'd like to see... Not a terrible amount of filler used.

Both reels are made on the same frame. The sideplates are interchangeable. Some small differences internally, but not enough to pay $300 for a Zillion TWS over a Tatula. Save that money and buy a rod for the Tatula.

You can swap 6:8:1 px-r gears into the alphas. It only takes you from 24" ipt to 26" ipt though. You need the following parts... Px-r Main gear Px-r Pinion gear Daiwa #1 carbontex drag kit Not really needed but you can also pick up the px-r 6:8:1 worm gear and the worm gear bearing upgrade. It's only money,right. There are no gear swaps available for the px-r that I'm aware of. Which means there aren't any available for the alphas except px-r gears.

If a rod doesn't balance where I like 'right at the reel seat nut' I sell it and get one that does. Way too many choices for me to settle on a rod.

The 2.0 isn't as stiff as the original, but it is still a bit more than my other mediums. My gen 1 *** was spot on with its power rating. I only have the 705cb in the fury so it's not a fair comparison since it's a crankbait rod. My *** will be here on Friday. What are the weights of the baits you'll be using the most? As you've learned mh isn't exactly mh in certain cases.

I rarely touch a spinning rod though so it's not something I'd ever check. I paired a light reel with a light rod and that's it. I use it when we kayak the river because it's simple. Other than that it collects dust.

Just be aware that the tatula series of rods is rated lighter than they are. Going by lure ratings, and actual in hand experience. The ml is more of a med.

If all 3 brands of jerkbaits have the same size trebles then yes you can buy a couple packs and swap them out. If they aren't then you'll need to get different sizes. A quality affordable treble is the mustad triple grip. You can find hooks sizes on the manufacturers website and also TW usually will list them. Using different hooks can sometimes add weight and will affect the sink rate of your lure. It's an easy way to turn a slow rising jerkbait into a suspending jerkbait.

Contact Abu/Pure fishing. They'll send you a replacement. It'll even be the new 2.0 version. All you'll have to do is take some pics and fill out a warranty claim online. Should run you $20. I did a warranty claim on one for a friend. It fell over as he was walking out the door and you can figure out the rest. The process was simple and they have great customer service. I told them the truth about what happened. Give them a call. It's pretty strange it's in 3 pieces from the lure getting snagged on something though.

^^^ me either. I usually add 1-2 shims to all my knobs to eliminate any wiggle. So I add bearings while they're off. Considering 20 bearings runs me $8. So why not,right

My only experience with worm gear bearing upgrades is on Daiwa reels. I do it because I like to tinker with things. Some of their expensive reels have a bushing instead of a bearing. Like the PX68 or TD Zillion. Both were $300 reels. I've seen no benefit from the upgrade. Some say they feel smoother or when resistance is applied while fighting a fish you can tell. I can not though. It's a cheap upgrade and gives me something to do.
