Bass Pro Cheap Bionic Blade Spinning Combo
Thinking about picking up my first spinning combo, that Bionic Blade combo they got for $49.99 in store seems to good to pass up. Been thinking it wouldn't be a bad to give one a try especially throwing weightless senko's and other smaller type baits that i sometimes have trouble throwing with a baitcaster. Would I be wasting my money? Or should i put my money towards something better?

Took The New Boat Out For A Spin!
thanks I'm itching to take it back out for a good full day of fishing! Agree i'd save my money too, someone always finds them, but i dont think i want to find them that bad when snow is on the ground and that low of temps.

Farm Pond Fishing
I had planted some Hybrid water lilies over the weekend want to make sure they hadn't floated away and how they were doing, I guess they are surviving, they are still there might just take a few more days to get adjusted to there new home. So of course I had to bring my fishing pole and make a few casts! Pond is still muddy but starting to clear up around edges since thats where we threw in the gypsum but its getting there, good improvement since Saturday! Started throwing a white caffeine shad since thats what I caught them on last time, no luck. Put on a black/chart square bill still no luck. Finally decided to pitch a Junebug Ugly Otter havn't had much luck with blues but since its muddy water i know its supposed to be good color so i tie that bad boy on and start pitching trees and brush finally get a nibble missed him, so i throw in some more light brush tap tap got ya! Make a few more casts and grab one more hungry guy. By then the sun is almost down and since i rushed out the door i didnt grab a jacket and was getting pretty chili so i called it a day and headed home. Here are a few pics, nothing huge but still fun to catch!

Took The New Boat Out For A Spin!
After a day of some hard work, got up early at 7:30 to go get gypsum with the old man to throw in a couple of his farm ponds to help clear them up after re-shaping and being muddy. That took until Noon, shoveling it and throwing it into two good sized ponds. Then finally hooked up to that new boat and get her to Tenkiller i think we finally got in some water sometime after 3pm, ran up and down the lake to get that first hour of break in over with. Barely got to fish any since it was getting late, the wife got a nibble and nothing for me, here are some pics. Baby girl is ready to go fishing but needs to grow a little more!

Tough Day On Grand For First Bfl
dang i figured it would be half way decent with the nice weather this weekend. But poor moon phase as well, as usual though, someone always finds some. I did launch my Bass Tracker late on Tenkiller, ran it for a solid hour to get the first hour of break in out of the way. Had to put in on Snake Creek, for some reason Chicken Creek was Temp closed. Barely fished any since most of time was spent running and it was getting late. The wife got one nibble, nodda for myself. But water was clear and Temp about 52-53.

Deeply Hooked Bass
the times i have gotten them in the throat, by the time I would have reeled them in the hook has made and exit point near the spot he swallowed it, i would just cut the line, and reverse the hook back thru so the barb isn't catching on anything. Re-tie and get back to fishing.

Tough Day On Grand For First Bfl
Nice good luck man! I know what you mean its consuming me as well, I talked my Dad into fishing the Lake Country Anglers, they fish lakes near muskogee, now i saw a post for a monthly Tourney on Okemah, which is not to far away from here and it wouldn't mess up with my other trails. On top of me wanting to try some weekly Jackpots @ Ft Gibson, they launch at Toppers which is some what close from where we work, haul the boat into to work that day leave from their to the lake! One positive thing about OT is mo' money and help you get some stuff paid off and ready to put towards that boat!

First Boat, Tracker
I fished out of a two man boat for the last few years, to me there is just something about being on the water vs fishing from the bank, even if its a 8'10" Bass Tracker with a 27lb thrust hand controlled trolling motor. Some of the best advice I got was go climb in some boats, walk around, sit in the seats, open compartments etc. Vision what your routine is in that boat, have I got enough space to be comfortable? This is what i did at the Tulsa Boat show since lots of models were on display all at once.

Jig Fishing May Not Be For Me.........
I started Jig fishing for the first time last year. I picked up the KVD swim Jig. mostly cause you can work it like a jig and work it like a spinnerbait with out spinners. Pair that baby with a Rage Craw and practice away. Caught some big fish swimming it and working it like a jig bouncing it off the bottom. I liked it cause if i got frustrated or tired of crawling it i would just go to fishing it like a spinner bait. Stick to basic colors, watermelon, PB&J and Black/Blue. Heck just stick to watermelon to keep it extremely simple, that was my go to color last year. Dont give up yet, jigs catch fish and they catch BIG fish.

Got My Bfl Confirmation As Co-Angler For Okie Trail Today!
FLW's Bass Fishing League and Bassmasters Weekend Series both have weekend trails, go to the sites and you can find the trails near you and what lakes. They are $100 each event, and I highly rccomend it. My first event was awesome they really make a big deal out of it, only thing missing was I didn't catch a fish to get up on stage The boater was nice, I mean we're not going to be best friends after a day in the water, but I had no problems and I talked to a buddy I go to church with and he co-anglered for 2 years and said all boaters were kind and curtious. Do it if you can it was a bast! My next one is in two weeks I can't wait!

Po-Boy Special Rod
Ole Marty the Party Robinson summed up rod selection best on Fishing University this weekend, best i can remember on what he said was... if you only have $200 to spend on a rod and reel, spend a $150 on the rod and spend $50 on the reel, once you set the hook you can crank them in with just about anything. You gotta feel them before you can reel them. I know your talking about the $50 dollar range for a rod, but i'd save a little more and get into the $75-$100 range there are some great rods at that price. That would be my advice your close to good rod range, save a little more, and wait.

After 10+ Years I'll Back On The Water Soon!
Thanks guys! I'm itching to take it out, good wether coming this week too. I'm storing it down at my old mans barn, if it was in my garage I'd probably be out there sitting in it while I typed this message! I got a fish finder with Side Imaging I'm really interested to check it out as well. I been told to be sure to use something like stabil, to add to the fuel, and it's recommended to use 100% gas. It can handle ethanol but its not recommended.
