Revo S Vs. Revo Stx
im a shimano guy and own a curado e7, calcutta b and a citica e. ok thats out of the way my buddy owns a tackle shop and he talked me into a revo stx last year and sold to me at his cost, guess what? I bouhht another stx two weeks ago. I friggin love it! I use the first stx I bought for crankin and she does a fine job, nice and smooth, deeeeeep distance on the cast and a great drag. the new one is going on a LTB for jiggin! my curado performs equally as great if that matters.

Fishing Longer Rods
this is my reasoning for all of my rods being 7ft. 7 footers are just what i like i do have one 6'8 however. my 6.8 MHF is for close quarter combat cover fishing!. works great around docks and blow downs. there is a jig tied or creature tied on that rod 99% of the time

Confidence Bait....why?
this exact thing happened to me when i decided i was gonna master useing deep crankbaits one season. now it is rare to see me on the water without a deep crank tied on one of my rigs. infact my first technique specific rod was a crankbait rod lol i had a similar experience when i made myself learn how to fish a jig right i never leave the dock without a 5 or 6XD tied on, or a rapala DT series lol

How Versatile Are You - Really ?!
luckily the half dozen lakes i fish on a regular basis are each completely different, one is shallow with tons of weeds, one is shallow at one end and deep as well at the other with TONS if different stucture and bottoms, one has a river leading in to it. one is a shallow resivoir and the other is a deep resivoir with acres of standing timber, and lastly one is a combo of the others. i am d**n good in 4 of them, but the other two i am still learning and getting better each season. it was haaaaaard for my to break my habits for other lakes to learn but i got over it and did it and it has worked great. For years i refused to use deep cranks and lipless cranks but guess what? i figured them out because i had too to catch fish. same goes for tubes, and big worms, i didn't wanna do it because it was outside my comfort zone but with tons of patients it paid off. now i take those tactics to the lakes that i was good at and got better at them. heck there was a time when i hated jigs too, but well i learned when and where to use them and now they are one of my go to baits early i didn't wanna leave my comfort zone but i have since learned to open the mind to new and different tactics that are uncommon in my area. living all over the states while i was in the Navy taught me many different ways to catch fish. i have learned to apply them and variations therein to my home waters of PA and it has worked out great for me

Pressured Fish Lures
something that worked great for me last year was a t-rigged tube. i know i know lol. i put 1/4 oz tungsten bullet on a green pumpkin tube with a 2/0 EWG and worked heavy structure with it. i friggin slayed! my partner gave me a wierd look until i put a limit in the boat. now he always has one rigged lol we fish the same lake every tuesday in a club tourny, tons of pressure and tons of pleasure boaters. my little tube trick has paid off well for me. i use it many lakes around north central PA with good results

Help With Rod Selection
check out Lews rods!. good value and great rods i just sold my St Croix Mojo crankbait rod for a Lews Laser crankbait rod w/micro guides and couldn't be happier. the Lews is lighter, and much more sensitive.

Are There Some Baits You Just Won't Use?

Pressured Fish Lures
I usually go with weightless creature baits. I reacriin innovation sweet beaver to be exact however I also like a go small with a jig or large with a worm depending on the lake

Which Are The Best Bottom Contact Fishing Rods?
I know the rod is important but line is also. my GL2s are nice and sensitive and so are my Avids but when switched from mono to flouro is when I noticed a good bit more sensitivity, same on my rods with braid
