you are absolutely right however I was allowed to for the lodge and the lodge only. I went through our DM, who told our distro what I wanted. it worked oit pretty good. I listened to what our customes in our district wanted and thats what we ordered. it worked out great for our store and district. when my manager and DM left it stopped. that was about the same time our district got merged with another district. I was leaving near the same time to return to school. this was a good bit of years ago. im sure the company has changed a lot since then

ok ok guys slow down just a sec let me address my stupidness pitch forks down? ok good first things first i never belittled anyone and I am far from smart the 98% of customers being stupid part: they werent "stupid" as i put it in the traditional sense. they just failed to do research on what they were looking for. Where they were "stupid" is for the most part when they came into the store thinking that the guy in footware knew where the senkos were or the cashier knowing the difference between a squarebill and a deep crank. OK sometimes there was that guy who had to see just how far a rod would bend before it broke or the one who put the zebco 202 on the 11ft surf rod (that was funny!) Their intelligence was not the problem it was them not using common sense to get to where they wanted to be and thier assumption that i was just there to push product. I didn't push anything save for do not leave your empty soda cup on my counter. As for me. I never belittled anyone, i treated everyone with great respect nomatter the situation. However when i was asked my thoughts on a certain product i was always 100% honest. Most of the time the customer appreciated my honesty, especially when it saved them money. Yes i hate the ugly stick as much i hate Al Qaeda, but i sold A LOT of them. When i did give my honest opinion i always showed the customers products of similar price (some a hair higher and some a hair lower) and i let them try them out until they could form a good opinion of what they had in thier hands. I'm not as bad as i sounded in the first post. Yes my wording sucked and i apologize for that. That being said nascar you are right when i a career in retail would be a bad choice for me. i hated it. I do miss teaching the kids how to rig stuff and use thier rods and reels though, that was fun.

lol...leadership ability yes, ability to deal with people who are idiots and such nope...lol I was not after a a store managers job anyway. I was looking for a product and buying managers job. even though I made my store a ton of money after my boss let me do the fishing orders corperate decided that since I didnt have an mba I couldnt replace the guy they fired I wanted to be the guy that put the right fishing equipment in the stores. not 100 saltwater boat rods in a store 500miles from the sea

I was the only one at the store I worked at that had a clue...they refused to make me a manager so I bailed you guys gotta understand that most of dicks employees are there for just a paycheck. I was there as a college student with to much spare time in the winter months who eats and breathes fishing I upset many fishermen when I told them the ugly stick is a pos lol you think the dicks employees are dumb? 98percent of the customers are even more stupid

I think the kinky sweet beaver more resembles a craw than the original sweet beaver what I do know however is that I have both in my tackle bag in laege quantities. magic craw swirl, green pumpkin, and green with red fleck are my favs

friend of mine did great with a sab39 in the tampa area...all salt for three years and no issues. I fished with a few times and had nothing to complain about. I did however like my stradic better

yup...or ill break out a creature...since I absolutely love a sweet beaver I usually add one as a trailer on a jig when I am super desperate

I hated jigs many years ago....i forced myself go learn them and to get good with them...it was a loooong year but at the end I was hooked on jigs and one will always be handy when im in the boat the only two colors you need to know at first are black/blue and green pumpkin

id score a discound legend extreme and put a lew speed sppol, shimano citca or abu revo s on in and call it good!

in not particular order lews tp, revo stx or a chronarch. all kick arse! I put a revo stx on my new legend tourny bass...love it

I have my stradic fi 4000 on a st croix premier 7MF...love it for drop shottin I just wish the reel was a 3000

yep...only the pike and musky never seem to eat for me when I am not fishing a bass tourny. I could target them for week straight and not catch one, but when it is bass toirny time I lose sll my favs to the toothed twins!

I do the 1/8th swimbait hook with creatures when the bite is tough...never thought to do it with a tube! tks much man! im gonna certainly try that soon!

I enjoy tube fishing and I seem to be one of only a few that employ the tactic for bass in my neck of the woods of PA I like two flavors watermelon and pumpkin seed I usually rig them texas style with a 1/4oz bullet and a 2/0 wide gap which apparently is crazy occording to many guys I fish with. once in a while I use a lead head tube rig but very rarely. what do you guys like to throw?
