  1. no...ive been fishin low pro baitcasters for 15 years and I have never done thatplus the fact that it wont retrieve line nor is there any drag immediately after tells me there is a problem this reel has seen maybe ten days of use so far
  2. thinkin I need to, I really love the stx hence why I bought a second one. my gen2 is great and so it the gen3 (most of the tiem) this is comin from a guy who swears by shimano...
  3. no its flouro...both times have resulted in mild backlash on the hook set
  4. ok have no money at all...my wife on the other hand.... if my wife knew how much money I have into archery and fishing equipment she would shoot me with my own pistol I threatened to sell my race car to buy a boat and she flipped out...what is wierd is she hates my race car more than anything lol
  5. I had something odd happen to me the other day I was hopping a swim jig with my gen3 revo stx the other day and when set the hook on a bass the the spool spun almost like it was in free spool. what it turned out to be was the drag was loose. however, I had had just set the drag to d**n near max pressure. I tested it like I always do before I start fishing. this is the second time I habe set the hook and had the spool spin, followed by me crankin and not getting any line back. I have never had this issue with my gen2 stx on a ppsitive note I did boat the fish and she weighed 3lbs 5oz lol
  6. I had a glass mojo crank last year and worked fine but I sold it and got a Lews m crankbait after I tested my buddies. it is lighter and more comfy than my mojo was. alittle softer as well
  7. centri fan here...i do like my two STXs but I prefer the VBS on my shinanos
  8. I bought a case of yuengling lager...man it is good and cold...tasty too!
  9. lew TP, chronarch, revo sx, revo stx, BPS PQ. all good stuff and will serve you well
  10. I hate how true this is lol
  11. jeez why hamstring yourself I ise rage tail, reaction innovations, zoom, northland, yamamoto, berkely, SK, jackall, yum, bps, and a few others each company makes a bait that I really like examples are I use rage shellcrackers and anacondas, reaction innovation skinny dippers and beavers, yamamota fat ikas, berkely chigger craws, pitboss and sickfish, SK rodents. never be brand loyal, find what works best for you and dont be afraid to try something new from someone else

been messing with the swim jig a lot lately myself what colors seem to work well for you guys? black and blue and dark greens have worked for me so far. I have yet to fish any lighter colors
  13. sweet beaver, pit boss, and rage craw.
  14. because shimano, loomis, croix and others are price protected
  15. two things first accuracy with my casts. I was lucky enough to fish with a two time classic qualifier and he outfished me four to ome with the same bait and presentation. the only difference was his casts were right on the money where as mine were six to twelve inches off. second, I learned if you know there should be a fish in a certain place cast in there until you tick it off enough to bite. I have thrown into a spot up to ten times before I got that fish to eat!
  16. I second the lews speed spool, the pro qualifier and the revo s
  17. that is reason number one why my rods gp through doors tip first...i learned that lesson in a slimilsr fashoin as you
  18. I use a gen2 revo stx 6.4:1. it isnt bad with a 6xd. I sometimes wonder however if a 5.x would be better for keeping hooked fish hooked with the trebles
  19. I have an stradic fj that did a lot of time battling snook snd reds in the salt, it is now on bass duty with a croix premier since I moved back to PA super smooth and ultra tough!. you cant go wrong with a stradic. that being said a symetre will serve you well also. I have three and they are all over ten years old and still work great!
  20. I have ten packs comin lol...5 in black and blue and five in june bug!
  21. I have two rods with micro guides. a lew laser crankbait and a croix ltb. what I noticed was better sensotivity and maybe a hair more accuracy...maybe. I did notice a hair more distance when flipping but not in longer casting
  22. ***...the lews tp looks and preforms awesome on it.
  23. good tips on color! OP try to figure oit which shore has recieved the most wind. usually sustained winds over a few days will blow baitfish up to that shore
  24. yep I ise them too, I do however trim the antenna a bit the kinky beavers my fav colors are magic craw swirl, green pumpkin and cali 420
  25. if they made a team lews in a lwfty I would be lookin at them...but the TP and the T Ss are great especially foe thw money
