  1. We mainly fish creeks and rivers, he dominates with a chatterbait. I think we try to overthink things. I seriously don't think having a blade matters. Even in clear water that we fish.
  2. I have a buddy that strictly fishes chatterbaits. He destroys anyone using a swimjig year round. I do not know of one instance I would prefer swimjig over chatterbait. He catches more in grass, clear water, etc. He destroyed me yesterday as well when I was wanting to use my swimjigs.
  3. they only offer their BPS brand reels. Reason #100000 why I will sit at home and hit up TW
  4. Just curious as to what some of you guys use for a spooling station. I have looked into the Spoolin Buddy but concerned it doesn't have any tension. the RMC one has bad reviews and the Berkley is junk. I have had one before. Is homemade the way to go?
  5. well I got one of these to compare to my Tatulas. May just have to stick with all Tatulas. Not impressed at all so far.
  6. I know this has probably been discussed. I have a new Curado I baitcaster. I know it is related to the brakes. On cast, it screeches. Sometimes the full cast sometimes just partial. I have 2 of the 4 brakes engaged. I heard you can go down to 1 and it stops. Is this a design flaw or the improper grease/oil from factory? Think Curado wouldn't have this problem being so expensive. It still casts fine just annoying as all getout
  7. I have 4 or 5 Kistlers and seem to be getting more and more of them for a reason. Love them.
  8. Anyone gonna try out the new Gamy Nano Finesse trebles by Martens?
  9. I have used pretty much all of them and have finally settled on Owner. Just curious what the consensus is.
  10. I have the cool green & black one but haven't thrown it yet
  11. The kistlers have the best feel to me out of all of my rods, including my Dobyns. I prefer the KLX series but the lower end models are still great to me. I had a *** rod and the handle felt thin and I just did not like the overall feel of it.
  12. I recently got two of the Kistlers. To me, they can't be beat at that price point. I am not a fan of the 13 Rods.
  13. I must have got a dud then.
  14. thanks for the tips. I will definitely check the line guides for breaks.
  15. i was using a 7 gear ratio but tried fast and slow retrieves. May give them one more chance but I am not impressed. The Lucky Craft Wake is amazing right out of the package. Will probably be my go to Wake
  16. so trying out power pro 10lb on my spinning reel today. First time using braid in a while and I had two fish completely snap it in half far above my knot. I am a heavy line guy and normally throw big swimbaits etc but trying to finesse it up some. Any reason why 10lb braid would snap so easily?
  17. So I have been experimenting with Wake Baits lately. Love the Lucky Craft 2.5Wake, love THKO Custom Wakes. ABSOLUTELY HATE THE ARASHI WAKE The wobble is so big that it looks like it is just spiraling in circles. Almost as if I have the front hook looped over the line and it does that spiral thing coming back in. I know a few of you have used them so far. Is this one just weird or are they all like that?
  18. I had one a few years ago that I ended up selling. Wouldn't buy another unless it was $50
  19. meh, biffle heads aren't in my regular rotation. Tried em, didn't like em. Now a Chatterbait, that is an awesome lure
  20. I have my worst luck with swimbaits when it gets bluebird skies and sunny. My best days are overcast.
  21. I have 3 or 4 of them. Since i normally fish small creeks and rivers with shoals, I normally prefer a walk the dog bait. I have caught a few nice ones on it though at the lake.
  22. I have never bent a Trokar either and that is all I use. I also don't hookset into rocks using 65lb braid.
  23. Not sure what they did to the outside but mine is peeling already after casting it and I haven't even hooked a fish yet. $15 is a lot for a lure that is going to lose it's outside coat immediately. I will stick with Sammys or Balsa Bulls from here forward.
