  1. fished the flats tonight from 2pm to 8 pm and caught them pretty good. best 5 would have gone 18 pounds or so. this one was about the average size fish we were catching. super fun session.
  2. i don't think it is lake henry. i believe it is just a small community lake that is attached to lake june. we had to get out of my friends tracker and push our way under the bridge. if i were to go back, that is right where i would start.
  3. direct tv is the way to go. here is a little tip: when ordering a movie from pay-per-view, order on-line because all of your tv's will show the movie.
  4. the canals i fished were on the south side of the lake. look for a golf course, and follow the shoreline until you see the bridge. work the opening in front of the bridge before going through, i caught a couple there on a pointer ( yes the lucky craft slender pointer). i wish we found that lake on the southeast side sooner, because there are some good fish in there. we just ran out of time. good luck.
  5. i used to work with a concrete finisher when i needed extra cash. i have used the machine you are talking about, and it is an extremely dusty/nasty/dirty/ugly job. just buy the kit that bassinblvd is talking about and you will have a sweet looking garage floor.
  6. nice pics. the snook weighed 5 pounds maybe. the peacock looks like a healthy 2 pounder. i love catching tarpon that size, they jump like mad and can be had on artificial.
  7. i fell in love with the reaction innovations squeeky dolphin. you adjust the tension to create different sounds and splashes. it is a hog catcher.
  8. shimano chronarch 50 mg on a g loomis bcr 803.
  9. that is a great looking boat. is that trolling motor made for salt water? i personally would not buy that boat if you intend on doing some saltwater fishing. buy a flats boat instead. a saltwater boat can handle fresh water better than a fresh water boat can handle salt. i don't mean to sound discouraging, but saltwter WILL cause problems. if you are willing to spend that kind of money on a boat, you should have NO problem finding a super nice flats boat. just my honest opinion.
  10. i didn't reply because in your first post you said that you: a) didn't want to fish a lake that gets poundedevery weekend. here in florida that is very hard to find, unless it is private or in your own back yard. you don't want to waste your time if there are no pigs in them. every lake down here has big fish. you just have to outwit them. with that said, i have fished lake june (in a tourny, and i finished 3rd) and all of my fish came from the canals. i don't know what kind of boat you have, but there is alittlelake in the southeast side that you will probably have to get out of your boat and push it under the bridge. it is only about a foot or 2 deep. once you get in that little lake, to the left there is some hydrilla and all kinds of trees, vegetation and docks. senkos got most of my fish, but it was really windy that day. i believe we had 15 pounds, and the winner had 18. the guy who won, caught all of his fish on a pointer.
  11. medical examiner says that she died from blunt trauma to the head. she was at the bow of the boat going 25 mph and the ray jumped out of the water and hit her head on.
  12. it happened yesterday in the keys. the lady was visiting from michigan.
  13. stick marsh would be the dream trip, and mr. welcome is your guy. but if you mean south as in dade and broward county south, alan zaremba will put you on peacocks, largies and a whole plethara of exotics.
  14. i like to swim mine on the flats. when i get waked, i drop it back and it usually gets whacked. i also swim them through the pads.
  15. he will win 2 tournys this year.
  16. i always use a flouro leader with pp when i salt water fish. the reason is that snook and tarpon are line shy and easily spooked. i use 65 pound braid on my flippin stick with no leader. i use a uni to uni knot to marry them.
  17. no hp restrictions, but it is posted 30mph throughout loxahatchee. i am not sure if it is being enforced, because the signs are not up yet at the southern end of lox. an fwc guy told me that they will not be enforcing the limit until all signs are posted.
  18. those are some nice snakes micro. i love kings and rat snakes. when i was a kid, i had a 7 foot yellow rat. i think it is so cool that a king snakes eat other snakes, and they are non venomous.
  19. you have no idea why someone would ex-member themselves. for you to assume that they are giving everyone on this forum the finger for leaving is just plain weak. and then you say grow up? who cares if someone ex-members themself. are you that worried about why they left? gimme a break.
  20. congrats bb! enjoy your new edition. when my first child was born, i would hold him and just stare at him for hours. it is truly the greatest gift in the world. kudos brother.
  21. do you have a boat? if so, fish loxahatchee off of lee road. lox is RED HOT right now.
  22. i have been using the giggy head with a trick worm with great success lately. my question is what do you guys use with your giggy/shakey heads? i am looking for other soft plastics to try--any suggestions?
  23. i use a portable livewell when fishing tournys on my flatsboat. the one i have is 30 gallons (i think). i have a battery specifically for that livewell, and i bought the pump @ westmarine for about 30 bucks. i also rigged a couple of pieces of pvc pipe to create a fountain. i always fill my tank first thing in the morning and add release me to my water as well. the bigger the tank the better imo.
  24. stay with natural colors like watermelonseed, green pumpkin, junebug. i would pick up some senkos, speed worms and of course, a rattle trap. also try a pop r. fishing is really good now in florida. all spots are catching fish.
