Where To Use Grease/ Oil?
- What's Your Guys Favorite Lure, rig And Way To Fish
Pretty much the same here. I'll take any type of crankbait, but finesse I like a dropshot and wacky rigged senkos.- Crankbait Question
I like 10 or 12lb mono for those. Either Berkley Trilene xt or BPS Excel.- Help Me Find A Squarebill - Sexy Lavender Shad
Think this is the right one. Right column, 5th row down. Looks the same, chartreuse shad with lavender back. what you looking for 1.0,1.5,2.5s? 1.5: http://www.fishermensheaven.com/shop/proddetail.php?prod=Strike-King-Crankbaits-Square-Bill-KVD-1.5-Silent-Fishing-Lures 2.5s: http://www.fishermensheaven.com/shop/proddetail.php?prod=Strike-King-Crankbaits-Square-Bill-KVD-2.5-Silent-Fishing-Lures- Grade Your 2014
I'm giving myself a C+/B-. I got out at least once a week last year, so thats a bonus for me. Caught a lot of fish, a few big ones, but I gave myself a lower grade because looking back I feel like I limited myself to just a few techniques and maybe I could have caught more fish or more quality size fish had I tried a few more things. For the most part my fishing insisted of crankbaits, the dropshot, and a wacky rigged senko. I've already decided this year to fish more jigs, spinnerbaits, and swimbaits. and maybe get out to a little bit deeper water when it calls for it.- What Triggers Your Tackle Itch
Lots of things trigger my tackle itch. It can be seeing a technique done on a fishing show that I don't normally use, it could be something that is getting a lot of attention in here or on another forum, it could be that I am just getting low in the stuff I use a lot. Or it could just be winter and I'm losing my mind so I buy stuff lol My latest one is swimbaits and tackle. Went to a Fishing Expo back in January and saw a seminar with Mark Zona, and he was talking swimbaits. Since then I have been looking, buying a few packs here and there, hooks, etc... Before that, Jigs. I wasn't touch a of a jig thrower, but it was something that at the end of last year I decided I was going to improve on this coming season. With all the reading I do on here and all the mentions of Sieberts jigs, I started placing orders with Mike and it has become and addiction lol. I haven't been able to use most of the ones I have bought from him yet, but I am already getting ready to place another order for some different colors. Then there is the "I'm getting low so I HAVE to buy more" excuse. And of course, with new techniques, you HAVE to buy new rod and reel setups..- Casey Ashley Planted Over 50 Brushpiles On Hartwell!
I didn't read through this whole thread for the answer, but when is it that he was supposed to have done this?- Sunglasses Lens Colors?
How many times do you think I plan on changing them?? LOL Its easy, check the conditions for that day, change em before I leave or when I get to the ramp. Either way, they are pretty simple to change out and I don't plan on constantly switching back and forth throughout the day.- Sunglasses Lens Colors?
The good thing about the Fast Jackets I have is it is easy to swap out lenses. With all the replies it looks like I might have to just pick up a couple different colors and change em for the conditions that day. Thanks all- Abu Garcia Black Max
Nope. I have 3 and they all work great. Good reel for $50. Not as smooth as my other more expensive reels but for the money when setup right they get the job done with no problems.- New Shadow Rap
They look pretty good. I've got about $50 in gander mtn gift cards. If they get some in I'll have to pick up a couple.- Sunglasses Lens Colors?
You guys with multiple pairs of sunglasses, do you stick with one pair with a certain color lens or do you keep multiple pairs each with different color lenses for certain conditions? or multiple pairs with the same color lens for all conditions? I currently use a pair of BPS XPS Bluefins with blue mirror lenses. I have a pair of Oakley Fast Jackets that need some polarized lenses, but I'm not sure what color to get.- Bassmasters Classic
You'll be able to watch it online here: http://www.bassmaster.com/bassmaster-classic-live Not entirely sure how it is going to work. From what I read they want it to be similar to golf coverage, live shots of the anglers with the booth guys doing the "play-by-play". My guess is there will be a lot more booth shots than there is in golf coverage. Not much you can show with just 5 cameras on the water. I'm sure there will be some technical problems as well, which people will complain about lol.- More With Buddy, Or Not?
My fishing partner is my dad. I do pretty good when we go out, I am on the trolling motor and he sits in back. Not sure how I would do without him, but I do know that even if I caught more fish, or even bigger fish, I wouldn't enjoy it as much without him there. I have thought about going out on my own a few times when he didn't want to or couldn't go out but haven't done it yet.- Handling A Bass With Treble Hooks (Rookie Question)
Handle em the same way I handle them when fishing with single hooks. Smaller fish I'll just lift em, grab the line then grab the body of the fish and then either take the hook out while holding it that way or lip it and take the hook(s) out. If they are bigger fish I'll just net them.- Drop Shot Tackle
Been using these Decoy HD Masubari worm120 hooks for a couple years, haven't had a problem yet. It makes changing the leader length between the hook and the weight easier. Plus you can buy some cheap 4,6lb mono to use as the leader. Get some drop shot weights with the line clip like the hook has at the bottom of the swivel, again, it makes it easier to change out if you want more or less weight. As for lures. Any soft plastic will work. I prefer Strike King KVD Dreamshots in green pumpkin or KVD magic, Roboworm straight tails in Aarons magic and Aarons morning dawn. Weight, like I said before, I prefer the drop shot style ones with the line clip. I'll switch from the skinny pencil style to the teardrop style depending on where I am fishing and I'll use anywhere from 3/16 to 1/2 oz again depending on where i am and conditions.- What Did You Get At The Bps Spring Classic.
I think I already posted this somewhere. We got there right when the store opened on Friday morning. Here is what I got: -BPS Pro Qualifier (6.4:1 right hand) -Traded in an old reel and got an Abu Garcia Revo SX (6.4:1) -Didn't plan on a new rod but took one to trade-in, ended up getting an Abu Garcia Vendetta 7' M/F to put the PQ on -3 1200 yard spools of BPS excel mono 12# line (buy 2 get one free) -Some Berkley powerboat attractant to mix in my bags of powerbait worms -2 packs of KVD Dreamshots - green pumpin -1 Strike king red eye shad - sexy ghost minnow -Some XPS sunglasses for my dad -pack of 5inch SK swim'n caffeine shad in smokey shad All that and still have to wait about 2-1/2 months to use it all- What Lure Caught Your Biggest Bass In 2014 ?
Last day out caught a 4lb-1oz with a Yamamoto Senko in Baby Bass- First Bassmaster Classic Pictures
Pretty cool! Amazing to see how far both the format has come and the technology changes since then.- How Much Money Do You Spend On Fishing Licenses Anually
- Dave Mercer
I'm a fan of Mercer. Guy just seems like he has a lot of fun making the show. I watch a lot of him and Zona. They are both northern guys and do a lot of smallmouth shows. One of them posted some pics of them fishing together for an upcoming show. It was either on instagram or one of their Facebook pages, but I can't remember whose show it was for.- Bass Pro Spring Fishing Classic Sales Add Link
We went down there early this morning (Auburn Hills, Mi store). My dad and I each picked up a PQ reel and I also bought a Abu Revo SX and we each bought a rod. They had a few decent deals. We needed some line and they have buy two get one free in the bass pro brands, so we got a 3 1200 yard spools of 12# excel mono. Other than that I just stocked up on some lures i needed.- Bass Pro Spring Fishing Classic Sales Add Link
Nope, I believe it is one coupon per rod/reel.- Bass Pro Spring Fishing Classic Sales Add Link
I'll be down there hopefully early Friday. Will be picking up at least one PQ and then using the reel trade in to pick up an Abu reel. Not sure which one, leaning towards a Revo SX.- How Many Days A Year Do You Fish
