  1. I currently use a St Croix Premier 7' ML/F. It's nice, but if I were looking for a new drop shot rod I would go with the 610ML/XF LTB
  2. Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 is what I use
  3. I've always been a big fan of Zona's. Have learned a lot about fishing these Michigan waters from his shows and seminars. I can't wait until this weeks ZAFS, finally a new episode and it just happens to be with newly crowned Classic winner Jordan Lee.

  15. I'm in Michigan as well. Most of this time I'm throwing chartreuse or a perch color. I'm a big strike king fan and throw a lot of the KVD squarebills. My favorites are chartreuse/black back, sexy sunfish (those two are my most productive), chartreuse perch, yellow perch, and firetiger. Take a look at some of those and try and find something similar in the brand you prefer. Can't remember last time I threw any of those and didn't catch anything.
  16. Pflueger President is the only spinning reel I use. Can't beat it for the price.
  17. I still use mono. We usually pick up three 1200 yard spools of the BPS Excel at their spring fishing classic sale. They are buy 2 get one free.
  18. Bought mine on amazon. I think I paid around $10 for 600.
  19. Oh I have ordered plenty of those from him, and plan on ordering a few more swim jigs sometime between now and spring.
  20. The bait monkey gets me pretty good around this time of year while I'm sitting here, too cold outside to fish, waiting for the water here in Michigan to thaw. Below is a list of what I have picked up the last few weeks. As you see, I've decided to join the Whopper Plopper mania. To start I found a bunch of cheap stuff at a fishing show a few weeks ago, mostly small local bait makers. also found a Yum Ultralight Umbrella(without blades) for $4 a pack of Strike King coffee tubes Strike King Squadron umbrella rig kit From TackleWarehouse: Seaguar Red Label Fluorocarbon-10 and 20lb 4 packs Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp Wacky Rig Harness 2 packs of Strike, King Half Shells-Morning Daw and Prizm Shad Berkley 10" Power Worm-Tequila Sunrise 2 packs of Strike King Dream Shots OPT Bold Bluegill and Pro Blue Neon From Sieberts: 3 packs of 4-3/4 Rage Swimmers Ghost Shad, Pro Blue Red Pearl, Green Pumpkin Pearl Moaner weighted stroker swimbait hooks Cabelas: Whopper Plopper 90 in Pac-man Flashmob Jr Order from Cabelas that is on its way: Whopper plopper 130 in Perch Whopper Plopper 90 in T 1000 KVD Squarebill 2.5 in Chartreuse Perch Today at Gander Mountain: Berkley 10" Power Worm-Motor Oil Strike King KVD HC Flat Side 1.5 Crankbait-Chartreuse Perch Fishhead spin 3/8oz Pack of Gene Larew Biffle Hardheads
  21. I'm going to give it a try this year. I found a 5 wire Ultralight Yumbrella (without blades) at a fishing show a few weeks ago and then picked up a Flash mob Jr last week. Should be interesting. I'm hoping to head up north here in Michigan and fishing a few good smallmouth lakes up there.
  22. Water and Gatorade to drink. To eat we take sandwiches, chips, sometimes jerky, maybe a couple apples. I drink more than anything but on long days like trips to St Clair a sandwich helps. We actually just got a new RTIC Softpak 20 cooler to take it all on the boat with us.
  23. Thank A-Jay. He goes in for the surgery sometime next month, he wanted to wait until the winter to get it done. Too bad we needed something like this to wake us up and get us to wear them.
