New Setup Advice
I will probably add Dobyns to my arsenal next year when I graduate and won't have the St. Croix sponsorship anymore. I really want to try these rods.

New Setup Advice
That's what I need, more versatility. I have too many MHF rods that are great all around rods but I want technique specific and I'm thinking I will add a Rage 6'8"MXF and 7' HF for now, and then I'll get a MF after that.

St. Croix Rage Rod Review
Thanks for the help guys. I think I will stick with the Rage then. I know I want a AVS68MXF but I'm still debating the second one. Can't decide between the MM and a HF

St. Croix Rage Rod Review
I'm really torn between the two series. My college team is sponsored by St. Croix and they I've us a discount but I'm trying to save money. I really love the handle of the Rage, but I love cork. I feel if I get the Rage series I can spend a little more on reels, but I can't decide.

Point taken. I'll go with the Avid.

St. Croix Rage Rod Review
I'm about to order some Rage rods and was just curious if you had an update on how these rods have been performing? I'm debating between the Avid and Rage series and I think I'm going to go with the Rage. I'm looking at a 6'8"MXF spinning rod and a 7'2" MM rod.

New Setup Advice
I know, it's just hard to pull the trigger when I can spend less money for a St. Croix through the sponsorship. I have thought about a jerk bait rod, but I haven't even tried jerkbaits yet.

New Setup Advice
Hey Fellas, I could use some general or specific direction on building up my arsenal. I'm in college, I don't have a lot of money, but I'm slowly adding rods. Thankfully I'm sponsored by St. Croix and LEWS through my college bass fishing team, which allows me a great discount. I would like to try a Dobyns in the near future, but it's so hard to buy any other brand when St. Croix gives us a great discount. Here is my current lineup: 1. St. Croix LTB 7'2" MM "Small Cranker" - Chronarch 201E6 2. St. Croix Premier MHM Crankbait - Abu Garcia Revo SX 6.4:1 3. *** *** 7'1" MHF (for jigs) - Daiwa Tatula 6.4:1 4. Shimano Clarus 7'2" MHF (for t-rigs and worm) - Shimano Sahara 2500 6.2:1 Extra Reel: Daiwa T3B 8.2:1 - I may be switching this reel with the Tatula for pulling fish out of cover quickly or possibly buy a frogging rod and put this on there. Any advice? Do I put that extra Daiwa reel on my *** or use it for another setup? Would you guys suggest moving around any of my reels around? Finally, what's the next step? Frogging rod? Light spinning setup? Plastics or spinnerbaits? So many choices... My budget per rod is usually $300-400.

I love the Rage Db, Sweet Beaver, and my personal favorite... Missile D Bombs

Daiwa T3 Ballistic
Got my reel today! This thing feels so comfortable in my hand. I definitely see what you mean about the handle, it could use some smoother bearings. I went outside and castes a couple of times, but my yard isn't big enough to really see it perform. I pitched it with some 12lb Tatsu, D Bomb and a 3/16 tungsten weight. I was impressed how easy it is to pitch with it. I'm stoked to go try this reel on the water next week. I've never owned a fast retrieve reel, so I'm excited to see that come into play.

Fluorocarbon
Tatsu is the bomb. I bought 3 spools of 12lb with this sale going on.

Daiwa T3 Ballistic
Have you received your reel yet? What are you initial thoughts on it? I just pulled the trigger on one today and it should be here tomorrow! I ordered the T3BLS100XSL which is the 8.1:1 ratio.

Fluorocarbon
I haven't tried Sniper, but I have experience with Invisx, and it's a great line if used with KVD L&L. It has a little memory, but after a couple of casts it's mostly gone. I can only speak for Invisx when I say it "stretches" more than most FC lines, and I tend to use it more for cranking for that reason.

Tatsu Fluro
I have used only Seaguar's line of FCs and I will say that Tatsu is so worth the money. With a little help from Rock Chalk, I used backing on my reel, and spooled the rest with Tatsu. It doesn't hurt the bank so much... especially for those of us in college. I ordered 2 more spools of 12lb test from TW and they will be here tomorrow. I have only used 12lb test, but I plan to try it out in other diameters as well. The 12lb test is so much more manageable than my 10 invisx, and I use both lines often. The Invisx is a great line, but it has a little stretch, and although the there is line memory, it disappears after 30 minutes of fishing. With the Tatsu, I don't experience any memory, stuff is awesome.

Siebert Cosmic Tube?
I've never heard of them! Sorry I can't help.

Kvd Line & Lure - When To Use?
Like some guys have said... I spray it heavily on the initial spooling ( 8-10 sprays), and then I'll spray about 3 times the night before I go fishing.

St. Croix Rage Rod
I plan on getting the Avid series rods instead of the Rage series, thanks for the input.

St. Croix Rage Rod
I don't doubt what you're saying! I'm a huge St. Croix fan, and my college team is sponsored by them (makes me drool ). I have been a fan of them, before they sponsored out team. I have a LTB and a Premier and plan to add more by the end of the year. I guess it just comes down to the insecurity of knowing that eventually they won't be under warranty.

St. Croix Rage Rod
I'm very interested in these rods, I went to my local Gander and held one; I was also curious about the handle. They grip feels great! I would purchase several of these rods, except the fact that they only have a 5 year warranty and I like rods with lifetime warranty. Which sucks, because I have to spend more money lol

Seager Invinz???
By no means am I trying to be rude, but if you do a search on the forums, there is plenty of information on InvisX. That being said, it has memory but not as bad as the red label. It's not a bad fishing line with you use KVD L&L on it. Like iabass8 said, it does have more stretch than a normal FC should have. I have some 10lb test spooled on my cranking rod because it is a little more stretchy.

Line Watching?????
I'm a hardcore line watcher and I will say I get mentally exhausted after a day of fishing haha. I learned to line watch very well with braid, because it floats. Your line will either move (left or right), hop, or sink. Once you see this on your line you can set the hook. This is usually when fishing a jig or t-rig. That is a very general description, because I also feel the bites, but this should get you started. You will pick up soon after how your line acts after bites.

Jig Colors Why Do We Limit Ourselves?
I agree with ww2farmer, I once read an article that said that bass will bite any color really, but because consumers demand more colors options, they provide more color options. Really think about it... do you think that bass is going to sit there and check if your crank has gills? Eyes? Breathing? No... Choose colors that you have confidence in, and more importantly, choose the baits the fish want!

Lew's Bb1 Pro
I know it's a fairly new reel, but has anyone fished with them yet and could give us some reviews?

Siebert Outdoors Jigs
I just put a decent order of Dredge brush jigs yesterday! Can't wait till they come in the mail! Lol the week before I ordered 12 arky heards. Someone help me, it's an addiction. Mike's jigs are legit, I caught my first jig fish on an arky.
