  1. i test them in my pool always and check out new ways to work them it doesnt really do anything but i use a test rod with old braid...that and i dont care if i have to go buy another after it so if they get messed up it doesnt really bother me
  2. ive got a smith and wesson M&P sport .223 and its great very accurate and ive got about 4k rounds through it so far...it cycles the crappiest and the best ammo no problem and i havent had any problems with it and for $600 that i paid for it cant go wrong lol....i put a scope good for 200 yards and a bipod on it and no problem hitting 200 yards at the range also if you want an automatic just get a slide fire lol almost the same thing but you dont need a class 3 and you dont need to pay 15-20k+ for a real auto
  3. wow you just gave me an even better idea lol...will take some time but is very doable i could also have a map based program with it that you could map out the lake and all like your drawn maps and have it searchable also but im not sure how well it would work on phones guess the maps would be kinda small unless using a tablet
  4. hmm so voice recognition could be an idea of entering the data
  5. spinning reels not casting as far more have to do with the rod....if you have a cone of flight rod set up watch your line during the cast how it goes through the guides...good built custom rods will let you cast further and also the microwave guide system is supposed to help casting further also i havent tried it yet but next weekend the rod im building will be done with them
  6. major league fishing is excellent haha i love watching that....they could also do length instead of weight and hand out rulers and take pics of the length...thats what we used to on some forum some years ago and have forum tournaments haha
  7. ive caught them fishing for bass with bass lures of all sizes...there is a lake about a mile or so from me that they are very aggressive in so we used to throw top water yozuri baits and catch them...they are excellent snook bait
  8. wow that one has a lot of stuff on it! thats great if anyone has anymore ideas that can be added please let me know
  9. how long ago was the last time you used it? most modern reels and guides are great for braid
  10. What are the things you log after or during your fishing trips? example: weather conditions, water clearity etc I am going to make a program for these logs and i need some ideas on what info everyone logs for their trips so i can add as much possible to it...i dont mind keeping them in a notebook or so but i would much rather be able to have a search function on say a specific lake that im going to and what worked on the conditions ill be in also it will be able to be accessed by say your smart phone from the cloud to get info while you are out on the water already any ideas what i could add to it would be great as im starting to write out a layout for it now
  11. man i hope my brother doesnt see this post...when he uses my lures and gets snagged he jumps in to retrieve them haha the kvd cranks are pretty nice and the spro ones look good too but i havent missed any fish on the kvd yet and i fish them pretty slow where i fish so they dont go to the bottom anyway
  12. i like this i think its cheap also...i think all tournaments should be boat, fisherman, rods and tackle only...if i can locate and catch fish no problem without any help then any pro should be able to do it better than me...soon they will have rods that cast out and work the bait then reel the fish in for them lol
  13. thats a Lane Snapper ahah all the little fish have bigger eyes than their mouth lol
  14. ah im not trying to discredit them i just dont see why if they are pros why they need all this stuff to locate fish...now days we live in a tech world and most people could learn how to use the devices in not a lot of time just by looking on youtube....personally i think pros should be able to find the fish by their knowledge and experience of fishing and catching fish and not take the easy way of having a machine find their fish and then they can throw a bunch of baits and those fish will eventually bite guess i just believe this is one area that technology should be very very limited.... i mean whats next machines that do the fishing for you too?
  15. ah yeah if it gets cold where you live get some nice ones that will keep you warm and such but im in south florida lol its summer here most of the year hahaha
  16. i just use the $30-40 ones from wal-mart and works fine comes with hooded top and pants and is breathable ...ive been using the same set for a couple years now and still in good condition
  17. great for mono but for braid i need it packed on pretty tight or else it digs
  18. thats what i need to work on more putting the fly down without making a sound cause most of the time unless im casting like 10ft the end of the fly line goes further than the fly lol and really im not even sure what size flies i should be throwing either lol guess im going to start practicing more cause i usually only get the fly rod out maybe once every other week or so....mine is a st croix cheapie from basspro shop was like $100 lol (8wt 9ft) used for light saltwater (bonefish, redfish, sea trout)...i would love to build a new fly rod but unfortunately i have no idea whats good and if i did i wouldnt really know how to make good use of it lol
  19. you can also practice with a ball of yarn or so on your line instead of a fly...im not the greatest fly caster with a max cast of about 45 ft but i practice in my back yard with the yarn so i dont have to worry about ripping hooks out of myself
  20. what i was taught was 10 and 2 keep the tip between 10pm and 2pm during the cast and let the rod get loaded before pulling it the other way also be careful of your ears and neck
  21. crookedneck you could be like i am...i get it and then sometimes i can touch it with no problems...you can become allergic to it and not allergic very fast and the other way around
  22. back then was harder to be a pro now half the battle is over without doing anything....i catch numbers and decent size bass everyday without riding around till i see them on a fish finder etc...if i can find them easily then pros should be able to without electronics doing half their job lol
  23. yeah sucks lol or you could bring some goats with you...poison ivy is high in nutrients and goats arent allergic to it and its one of their favorite foods hahaha
  24. fish it hard we have pulled 8lb+ bass out of lakes you could walk around in 2 mins and if there are small bass (unless someone stocked it) those bass had to be born from bigger bass
